September 30 Learned something new today! What is Generation Y ??
September 29 Ohh boy - sore muscles tomorrowThe kids, especially CJ are gonna be SORE tomorrow.....
They did, for one of the first times, Miss R's conditioning class. Now CJ has done it once or twice, but not when Evil Miss Megan comes in too!! lol!
Con and Dee went in as well, (Con got sent out for a while - umah). They may be sore tomorrow, but I dont think Boy will cause he has muscles of steal, and I dont think Dee will cause she doesn't do much!~ LOL!
Will update tomorrow and tell you about the groans!!! LOL! September 28 bit tired nowStarting to wilt a tad!
I was up and at em this morning, after getting to bed about 1050 and asleep 15mins later. I awoke early and easily got the kids to school and myself to work, no dramas.
I think alot of the ease of this morning had to do with the fact I wasn't arguing with Dee every step of the way . She is SHOCKING int he mornings. Fights with me about what she's wearing and shoes she's wearing, even if we've discussed it the night before! WEll Dee slept at Leannes last night, so I didnt have that drama. And she was so good for LEanne, got up and dressed, no questsions asked - little cow!
About lunch time I started to wilt though, and by lessons tonight I was yawning something shocking! The girls (and boys) were all a bit tired too - so we finished off 10mins early and once I've done all my chores ready for Tuesday's rush I am heading to Bedfordshire! September 27 all over red roverComp went very well. Nice a smoothly, good new venue, great easygoing judges, happy competitors - all in all a great weekend. Plus Leanne and I took Sharon, the US judge out to dinner last night and I spoke to her about Vegas next year with RG and there's Lots of stuff in the pipeline for me.......
Dont want to say too much now - dont want to jinx it.
BUt VERY EXCITED!!!! September 26 My Babe is a Premier Girl now!!Well, CJ did her last Intermediate comp today.
She did well. Nice tough section for her to finish off. She ended up with 3rd in the title and 4th in the laddie. Tomorrow she is a Premier girl!! WOOHOO! The group chorey went really well! They got 2nd (out of 2! LOL) but it was more the enjoyment factor! It was great!!!
Personally, Im exhausted, but I'm happy. No huge hiccups today, home nice and early after a lovely dinner with a new friend and an old friend. Plus lots of exciting things in the works.... September 23 A feat of thanks!!I recently ordered several pairs of dancing shoes from overseas. The sizings were all wrong and we had to do major swaps to get things right.
Anna, who originally ordered a size 6, ended up in a size 4.5. However, when she first started wearing them, they were just a little too tight (her toenails bled!). I knew they would stretch heaps - if given the chance to be danced in. So we played 'shoe swap' at dancing. Firstly, CJ wore them for a few dances before she went to scouts. They were too big on CJ for competitions, but were ok for lessons (for most dancing mothers they were ok - however for me- who must have her childrens feet squeezed into tight shoes, they were tooooo big - by 1.5 sizes!) Then, Lynsey wore them for the rest of one lesson, which was good as tehy were just right on her.
THen, cj took them to Carolyns and wore them for her entire 2 hour lesson. THis was the lesson that did the trick. Lots and lots of dancing - and lots and lots of stretching. They now fit Anna beautifully!! Here is what Anna posted on facebook as thanks to CJ!
September 22 Peta and Danman - this one's for you!SMOKING IN CARS Well it is now official. If you are caught smoking in a car and there is a child under 16 in the car there is an 'on the spot' fine of $400.
September 21 Exciting School Stuff for CeilCeilidh got her Naplan results on Wednesday.
I was frightened. I kept telling myself that naplan was just a snap shot of how they are going at school and it's a standardized tests, so all depends on how they were on the day etc etc etc.
But, the schools, and the community hold it in such high regard that it is an important thing. Plus Ceilidh has such self-doubt on herself that I was so worried she would bomb in it (which wouldnt' be surprising considering she is only going 'average' at school. Well, she proved me wrong wrong wrong!
Her results weren't outstanding, in the academic sense, but for her - fantasmadorical!!
And she was above the National Average and School Average in all the areas.
Most excitingly of all - she was in BAND 7 (OH MY LORDY!) for spelling. CJ is no speller - just like her mother, but worse! Band 6 for everything else.
So she is over the moon, and I am over the moon for her!!!! :D September 20 Connor's SpeechConnor decided to do 'Free CHoice' for his speech. He then didn't know what to talk about. I said 'well, what do you know alot about?' He said 'my ds' 'Well then, write about that.' So he did! Well actually, I wrote and he dictated. And it went on and on and on. But I didn't stop him, cause he was actually working.
He did his speech on Friday. He told me he didn't get chosen because his speech went for 3mins, and it was only sposed to go for 2!! hahahah! I think it didn't get chosen because the teacher fell asleep when he was naming all the Pokemon!!
Here it is!
MY DS....
I have a Nintendo DS lite. It is my favourite toy in the whole world and my favourite thing to do when I get bored.
I play it a lot and really enjoy the games on it.
I have an R4 Card for my DS. It is a special card, that I got from my grandparents for Christmas. It is so cool because it has 26 games on the one card. Some of those games are; Lego Starwars, Indianna Jones and Batman, Spiderman - web of shadow, Drawn to Life - sponge bob, plus many more. But,my favourite game is POKEMON Pearl because there are cool things on that game.
Things like Pokemon with weird names like Infernape, Impolian, Mantae and other characters both evil and good. My favourite is Infernape because he has cool tricks like close combat that does punches 60 times or more and shadow claw, which is a critical hit and my favourite attack - flame wheel!
As I said before, I play my DS alot. I especially like it on the long car trips to dancing and back. It takes us 50 minutes to get to dancing, so I play it in the car. I also play it at dancing with all my friends. We sit there and do 'DS Download' and can battle each other!
My new DS is bright green, I got it from Mum and Dad for my birthday. It has a special Star Wars sticker which is Yoda on the cover, Sally, my God Mother gave it to me for my birthday.
I am looking forward to taking my DS on the plane with me to Germany at Christmas time. Can you imagine how boring it will be on a plane, when you can't get out of your seat, and the plane trip goes for 24 hours!! I have to make sure my mum packs the charger!! September 18 Lovely Comment! After my post the other day re CJs exciting dancing news I noticed on FB on Wednesday a comment that made my chest swell, from R to Rosie, Nat's mUm. after both Rosie and I had commented on how excited for the girls we were...
Here it is...
Glad to see you guys were all so excited. I had been planning this news for a while, I had been excited all day to have the kids join our class and wanted to say something unfortunately I didn't get to share in their excitement! I will see them soon. I am playing with the advanced sliver atm. sliver, reminds me of livers I am so happy for CJ. She is so excited about her new experiences, even though she knows it's going to be tough tough tough! September 17 Bit of a BumpWell, I guess yesterday was HUMP day, and they say the higher you are, the harder you fall.
I had a tough 'missing Nanna' day yesterday. It was hard.
Tuesday night, amongst the magic and excitement of Ceilidh's dance surprise; we walked into Mum and Dads and Mum was on the phone. My IMMEDIATE thought was that she was on the phone to Nanna. Because always always always I would walk into the house and Mum would be on the phone to Nan.
Then, Mum gave me some cereal that is from Nanna's house, in Nanna's containers.
Then mum showed me the absolutely BEAUTIFUL poem that is going on the 'thank you cards'.
Then we get home, and Beau rings, and CJ answers the phone and tells her the exciting news. And I think 'I can't ring and tell Nanna, or Mum won't be telling Nanna, like she always did and Nan wont ring and congratulate Ceilidh'
Then on Wednesday I realised that it was exactly a month ago - on the 17th, that I spoke to Nanna for the last time. She rang up to congratulate CJ on how well she did at the competition, and CJ wasn't home, she was around at Lauren's house. So when she got back home she rang Nanna back and they had a quick chat. For the very last time...
When I was at work, I got onto Peta's blog and saw what she had written about family - and that got me a bit worked up.
Then I got home from work and in my letterbox was a letter from the Heppers. Ashleigh now lives in the Parramatta area and she had brought home to her Mum, the article about Nanna in the paper, and they had sent it to me. (Of which I am very grateful)
Then we had the SDA meeting last night, and the place was set up for a huge garage sale. Peoples lives were crammed onto these tables and as much as it was brilliant to go about and look at stuff, and pick up bargains etc. My thoughts immediately turned to 'Nanna's things are going to end up at a garage sale like this...'
My chest was all 'icky' all day and I knew why.
If I have hard day, and she was my Nanna. I can't imagine how Mum is coping... September 16 Dance It Pop It Rock It Snap It!Last night, 6pm, time to leave RG and head to Highland.
The kids were late coming out of Acro. And I mean VERY late, R nd G were in there talking to them.
6.15 comes around and theyre still in there....
They come out and I quickly gather up the bags and say to CJ and Con, go and wait on the stairs, I will get Dee (she had gone in to play with Emi). G walks out, sees CJ half way down the hall, looks at me and says 'You're not leaving now are you? Can I see Ceilidh for a while' Ummmm......sure........
He then turns to Leilani and says 'You too, and where's Natalie' (who was in another class)
The girls stand there looking at each other and at he and the R...
G says 'I'd like you to come up with me to my class tonight please...'
OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So the girls went up to the class very excited.
It was so funny actually. CJ was all 'yes MR Grant' when he was asking her to go up. And she said "i have to get my jazz shoes out of the car". She walks out of the door with me to the car and SCREAMS 'OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG' Connor is saying 'what's the matter' and she said "Im goign into Mr Grants Jazz.'' Con went racing back inside the foyer and said 'My sister is going into the advance jazz!!' he was as excited as she was!! ;p When she was in class, I went out to ring Carolyn, but she was still teaching, so I spoke to Briony, and said we wouldnt be at Highland.
I feel so very very very bad about highland. So here I was, sick in the stomach with nerves for CJ, and sick in the stomach with guilt about highland.
End of class - CJ,Leilani and Nat were offered a place in the class. Mr G told them it won't be all bubbly, like they are used to, but will be hard hard work. They are happy about that.
CJ got screamed at about SMILING!!! Grant said 'She looks petrified all the time'. I said "She is, of you!''/ When we got home (she didnt stop raving the entire trip!), she wrote an email to G, thanking him for tonight, and telling him that she wont be there next week because of school dance group - but she will smile smile smile! Now onto the Highland drama...
I am going to have to tell Carolyn, that for the rest of this year, CJ can only do her Friday class. I will take the other two to the late Highland lesson, and CJ will come home with Mandy.
I feel really awful about doing this, but she has worked for 3 years to get into this class with G. She has been going to RG for 3.5 years and never had a lesson with Grant (cepting Summer School.) It means she will be staying for the conditioning class as well, which I hope will help her stamina and muscles. Which in turn, I hope will help her highland. She will also do my Monday highland class (as of next term Scouts starts at 7pm, so she can do my whole Monday lesson.)
All night last night, when I woke up, my first thought was of her face coming down the stairs after the class. I rarely see my Ceilidh-Girl so giddy with joy. It was wonderful and makes it all worth while!!!! September 15 Just popped over to Adelaide for the weekendOn Friday past I flew out to South Australia, arrived and went straight tot the hall and examined a 2 hour exam.
Then went to dinner at the Slug and Lettuce with some of the organizers and with the other judges. Went back to the house, to bed.
Got up at the crack of on teh Saturday, judged until 4pm. Went to the airport, into the QANTAS club as Craig, the other NSW judge is a member.
Had a glass of wine,
Got on the plane for Sydney Got home at 8pm. Got stuff ready for competition and tap rehearsal the next day! HEaded to Windsor, via Chiswick on Sunday. CJ danced well at both. She got 2nd in most dances. Came home, via Leannes (to drop entries and trophies). Went out to dinner at Panarotti's with clique and clique children.
WAS LOVELY!!! September 13 Dee Dee's Party! One week ago it was - - - - - -Party Time for Princessess.
It's taken me a long time to blog this, Finally the hugeness of the last few weeks hit me (and the kids) and I just haven't been able or motivated enough to sit down at the computer and write out what a wonderful few things have happened within the few weeks of awfulness. Darcy's party was a raging success. The day was marvellous, The company superior and the cake a success! LOL! We had friends from school, dancing, clique and family all there to celebrate and lots of dads were there too - which was lovely as it was Fathers Day, and it meant that they could have a family day out as well. Darcy got absolutely SPOILT ROTTEN, and I thank all of my friends for the marvellous presents she received - WOW!!! The kids seriously did not stop from the moment they arrived until we got booted out at 3pm. I was glad I had a few party games as well, it brought all of them together, rather than just riding round and round and round! The pizza idea for lunch was a great success, the only thing that would have added to it all was if I had organised a coffee van to visit during the day. Ahh well - next time!!!
Promise photos will follow tomorrow!! xo September 12 Info regarding CJ's speechI forgot to say the other day, when I blogged the speech, about how it all came about in a rushed exhausted way and how Mummy typed it whilst CJ talked about what she wanted in it (hence why it's not sounding very 10 year old!)
CJ had been off on the Wed and Thur of the week before last. She went to school on the Friday, but Fridays aren't spent in the classroom very much. They have their spelling test and literacy group in the morning, then middle session is assembly for most of it, then arvo session is sport.
So she didnt notice or write down anything that was on the board. Which was 'SPEECHES DUE NEXT WEDNESDAY - FRIDAY'
Well, she goes to school Monday and finds out about the speech. Instead of ignoring it, or pleading ignorance, or saying 'I just can't do it in that time' she said to her teacher "Miss, I am going to have to do my speech tomorrow because I am at Dance Camp on W,T,F''. To which Miss said "OK".
CJ gets home Monday afternoon and tells me this, but I go out and teach and she goes off to Scouts until 7.30. She gets home, close to 8 (as we had to talk to Lauren's mum about dancecamp pickup) and we start on the speech. So - all in all not a bad effort considering it was very last minute!
Will be blogging Con's speech in a few days.. September 11 DANCE DANCE DANCECeilidh does alot of dance at the best of times, but last week saw her doing double that amount! She was accepted into the NSW schools 'State Dance Camp' and she and Lauren had three days for classes and workshops from 9-3. She seemed to really enjoy it, although getting her up on the last day was very hard work! Her most favourite class was Musical Theatre, which was with David, Peta's friend. (Andrew's ex). He was just fabulous and Ceilidh and Lauren raved and raved about how good it was! I spent Friday sitting by myself in the cafe at SDC reading, listening to my ipod, playing wth my computer, drinking coffee. Generally doing NUFFIN! It was delightful!! :P
September 10 Exactly a week ago...Marvellous 5th Princess Birthdays were certainly on the menu!! Firstly, we had our very early start - up and left by 7.10am. Casey came in with us. We met Mark at the cafe at SDC and had a beautiful FRESH alfresco breakfast just opposite the theatre. Dee Dee opened her pressie from us, Casey and Lauren. She received a gorgeous handbag and matching purse - ballet themed from Case, plus two books with little secret compartments etc on Princessess and Ballerina's! From Lauren she got a Littlest Pet Shop trinket and some funky textas. From us she received a Charlie and Lola Backpack, letter set and zipper fob. And a LeapPad game. She also was getting.....her ears pierced. After we finished brekkie Mark headed to work and Case went and signed in the girls to class. We then got in the car and drove up Sussex St to the other end of the city. We then walked up to The Glasshouse for Darcy's 10.15 appointment to get her ears pierced. She was sooooo excited about it, but started to get nervous has we hit the escalator, and by the time we were at the shop she was a wailing mess!! She sobbed and cried the entire time they prepared her, and as she picked her earings etc. And then it was over and she suddenly was A-OK! She loves her ruby red crystals in her ears and so far, they've caused no trouble. After that, we headed to Centrepoint Tower. Connor was with us as well, I'd let him have the day off school. The four of us went up Centrepoint, and the kids really enjoyed that. We walked about and pointed out bits and pieces. We then decended and met Mum, Dad and Peta at The Tea Shop, on the lower level of the Glasshouse. It's just across from Peetie's work. Oh I LOVED that place. In fact, I wish it was right there that i was blogging this from now, rather than a cold dank cafe at SDC. Darcy opened her pressies from Nanna and Poppa, a beautiful dress and money to buy her very special umbrella later in the day. From Peta a gorgeous outfit a pair of funky rollerskates and a Princess book! The 5th birthday card from Mum and Dad made me very upset, as it was from Nanna Josephine's card box, and had been sitting right on top, ready for the next birthday in the family, which was Dee. I had only said to Mark and Casey earlier in the morning how I was sad because there would be no phonecall from Nanna to wish her Darcy Doogan a happy birthday, then when Mum told me that she got the card from Nanna's I totally lost it. But it's also so special too. We had a lovely (albiet expensive) luncheon and then DeeDee went off with Mum to the ABC SHOP to buy her Charlie and Lola umbrella, Dad went off to Galaxy books to shop, Peta went back to work and Casey, Con and I went back to Centrepoint for the OZTREK ride that is a part of the ticketprice from earlier. It was great fun, just a virtual reality ride around the sights of Australia etc. We then went for a wander through QVB and looked at the outfits from the new movie just released about Queen Victoria. Con was very interested in all thoseold outfits! By this time it was almost 2pm. So we met up with Mum, Dad and Darcy at the Town Hall steps, where Dee was getting to use her umbrella as it was raining! Casey and Dee swapped. THey headed for the train and home, and we headed back to the car and then down to SDC to pick up Ceilidh and Lauren. After CJ and Lauren had finished we drove to RG. Oh how I wish we lived this close to RG all the time - 15mins it took us!!!!! :D Well, did Missy Dee have a night all about her!! She loved it!!! She was wearing her birthday girl badge and she got sung to in Ballet firstly, and Miss Bec gave her a birthday sticker. Came out of class and the Toa's gave her a beautiful silver sparkly tiara! Went and played with her friends, then the Allan's gave her some fairy stickers. Went up into PG and when there was only 5mins to go of that - up I went with the doughnuts! CRAZY CRAZY STUFF!! I got to see the new modern expressive troupe (OMG- SOOO CUTE!!) then it was happy birthday time!! She loved loved loved it!!!! ;D Plus all the wonderful text messages and phone calls and facebook messages - she was very much into it all and didn't want the attention to end!!!
