31 agosto Darcy at 11pmDarcy has gotten into the habit of going to bed about 7pm but waking at about 11 and playing for a little while. All well and good when we are up at that time, but when I wanna go to bed - then blah - not good!
Anyway, yesterday Darcy's birthday present arrived from Casey and Danman. Instead of waiting until Sunday for her to open it, we opened it right away (and the kids loved their letters btw Case and Dan!)
Darcy LOVES her swarkofski crystal magnets guys! LOL!
Here she is playing with them on the fridge! THANKYOU!!
By the way - she just finished off a packet of cornchips - hence the grubby face and fingers!!
![]() ![]() 30 agosto Mark's MotorbikeI don't think I've blogged about Mark's new 'mid life crisis' toy?
It is a Kawasaki Z750 and it is very very cool.
Ok, so I wasn't 100% impressed that he was getting a brand new BIG motorbike. I didnt mind him getting one, but did we have to go new and did we have to go superbike?
But I will be the first to admit that I LURRVVVV IT!!!!
It is bright orange and slowly but surely Mark is gonna do wee things to it to get it fixed up beaut and trendy. I have my own helmet and we have been on quite a few rides around different spots now. It's great fun. He is very peeved at me cause I said to him the other night 'we should have done this years ago' He keeps saying "i can't believe you said that!'
Our next thing is to go on a weekend trip away somewhere. Somewhere with windy roads, that'd be fun!
Here is the family with the bike..... ![]()
29 agosto It's a worry when they come out with 'Im sicker than you are...'I only work 2 days a week (well, paid work that is - in my 'profession')
Except that this week I haven't been AT ALL.
Yesterday Boy was sick - temps of 40deg, took him up to docs and have more antibiotics, but they also took at urine sample as he is complaining of a 'sore whizzer' when he wee's. So it might all be related to a UTI.
Then, last night, at midnight I hear sobbing from Darcy's room. She is all wonky eyed and 'darth vader' voiced. So dose her up.
This morning Con chucks all over me and all over my bed. Darcy cries uncontrollably and CJ says she has an earache. And Mark goes to work for his first day back at Parra. NOT A GOOD DAY FOR ME.
Then, Im on the phone to Peta and Connor is telling Darcy and CJ that he is sicker than them, and Darcy is saying 'i sick' and Con is saying 'no your not, not like me.'
Geez - it aint a competition kids!!
Darcy looks like the wild man from Borneo with her hair everywhere, her snotty crusty nose and her wonky eyes and croaky voice.
Connor is just whingy and once the nurofen works he is bouncing off walls again Ceilidh is pale and sooky (not a difference to her normal self really)
Me - I am RS *sigh* 28 agosto My babies are sick - again25 agosto My Clever SisterMy sister is becoming a marriage celebrant. She is already a JP (which work paid for - well done Peety!) and now she is doing the Marriage Celebrate course (I was just going to write MC course - but in this household that stands for marriage counselling - ROFL!)
She is enjoying it, but is also very cranky at the lack of 'professionalism' with the other students and even the teacher. She tells some funny stories about how this teacher is 70 if she is a day and how she says things like 'you can't marry the GAYS, they can have committment ceremonies - but I dont do such things for the Gays.' Also 'when you marry the Asians... my DIL is an Asian and I dont know why she doesn't like me...' Peta said her tongue was almost BITTEN off she so badly wanted to say something!
Anyway - Here are some of the VERY FUNNY names she has thought up for her 'name.' I will plagerise straight from her blog.... A lot of celebrants have company names as well... I could just be Peta Banks, JP, CMC (doesn't that look impressive?) or I could be called.... what? Any ideas? Preferably something starting with "A" so I'm first in the phonebook!
"Amore Wedding"...
"Amore Celebrants"...
"Apples & Weddings"...
"Arse Weddings... if you've got an Arse, I'll marry ya!"...
"ABC Weddings - the celebrant you use for your first marriage... when you're only just learning"
"Anytime, Anyplace Marriages"...
" 'Almost been married myself but had to cancel it thank god because the guy was a psychopath' - Weddings"
"Any Volunteers? Weddings"
"And yes, I smoke - Weddings"
Mmmm... some of those might just do! 23 agosto Gall Bladder -argghhhhI had another 'attack' tonight.
I was out teaching and it just started. The pain, high in my gut and then creeping up into my chest and through my back. I came straight in and had some mylanta and a zantac and then I walked around trying to teach for the next 20mins until the pain went away. Which it did. Now I just feel the 'after affects' like when you've pulled a muscle.
I can only put it down to the fact I had a 'caramel muffin' today. It was yummy - but not worth that pain.
Hmmmm not happy jan.
Dont wanna have an operation. Unless they can do a tummy tuck whilst they're in there - now THERE's an option!! 22 agosto Theatre Goer!Sally and I are very naughty! We are going to see Boy from Oz - again - in the SPECIAL seats! Where Hughy's sweat will fly off and onto us - OH PLEASEEEEE.
And Peety and I are going to see The Tempest - not sure when - just soon. KEWL! 21 agosto Monday afternoon is cleaning day....Blah!!
Big job this arvo cause I have been away all weekend and it's even more like a bomb hit it.
blah blah blah 17 agosto Re Comment on 'Miss Literacy' in last post.....Bah humbug to you Mandy! I have never professed to be the Spelling Bee Queen - a fact of which a zillion people could attest to!
However - you may call me Grammar Guru (as long as you dont ask me the KIND of grammar it is!)
I am sure Mother Dearest will post a comment after yours too! And no wonder you were late for transition! Sitting on the computer at that time of the morning!!! 15 agosto disgruntledI am disgrunteld. Why, because my poor boyo is sick sick sick with tonsillitis again.
Came on suddenly - just like last year. Phone call from preschool, Connor complaining about not being able to see out of his eyes and sore head. I rush him to dr - temp of 39.4 then 39.2 after 10mins nurofen lapse. Then dropped down to 38.7 15mins later when Dr took us from treatment room into his rooms. Looked down his throat - yep - tonsils!
They flair up soooo quicky - now he is bounding around on my bed playing xbox, but once it comes close to medicine time he will go all sick on me again..
BTW - do you ever hear of someone being 'grunteld'??? You dont do you - only ever disgruntled 14 agosto Headache...Blahhhhhhh.
My head feels yuck. had this yesterday, it went after a while and there was just the 'imprint' but back like a vengence today.
Have dropped all kids at school and am going back to bed. Its not a migrane, I think it's sinus.
yuk yuk yuk 12 agosto Lovely VisitorsMy kids have been very lucky these last 2 days.
One thing I really missed during my childhood was going over to friends houses or having them coming to ours. We lived so far away from everyone, and were so busy with mum and dad working full time, then the video shop - plus all our dancing etc.
Anyway, I am pleased that my children are able to experience having friends over and going to friends places - but them not being 'friends from the street' I hear such horror stories about 'local friendships' and I remember Peta and her 'mob' from the video shop.
I guess thats another reason to be lucky the kids dont go to the local school, but it's still 'local' as in Liverpool Council.
Anyway - yesterday we had Jamie and Courtney over for the afternoon, then we all went and picked up Kirstin from her camp. Darcy was still talking today about picking 'kerken up from kool' and they had dinner with us. And today we have Jacob and Brodie over to play for the afternoon, and they had lunch with us. The boys have mostly been on the xbox and the girls have been watching disney channel but also spent over an hour outside playing 'families' I climbed up on the lounge and snuck a look out the window and it was so cute. They were all in the cubby house - all 3 of them, playing away. Plus the all had their lunch outside in the GORGEOUS sun we have today.
Meanwhile I could read the paper, watch '5 straight with Will and Grace' AND (best of all) have a half hour long bath without hearing a) fighting or b) mummy mummy mummy - where are you?
11 agosto juzzie the rhythmic gymastics champion :)Yeah RIGHT!!!!
in the holidays a local gym had 'fun days' for the kids. On the day we went there was only my friends 2 and a carload that I brought - so only 8 kids in total. So Mandy and I had fun 'playing' as well - and she SNAPPED this photo! LOL!
![]() 10 agosto Happiness is my 7 Year Old in the morningsI HATE MORNINGS. I always have. But I hate them even more now as a mother!
My 4 year old hops up happily and always has. He comes running into my room (if he's not already there) and jumps into bed with me and tells me how much he loves me.
My almost 2 year old is pretty much the same, cept she can't get out of her room so she just calls out 'mumma mumma mumma' at the doorway and then comes running out when someone opens her bedroom door. Now the 7 year old is a shit! She rarely wakes on her own, so you have to go and wake her for school. She ignores you for hte first 10mins and then grumbily gets out of bed. She sits with the poops on the lounge for 10mins. Screams at you if you DARE to help her get changed. Hates having her hair done. Cries AT LEAST 3 times every morning. Unfortunatly she gets that from her father and me - not the crying in the mornings, just the getting up - or lack there of! I say this as Mark is still asleep on the lounge at 8.40am - when he is supposed to start work in the city at 9am! Oh dear - well - not my problem....... As John would say - FUNNCHA! (How is that spelling Peta?) 09 agosto UnderCoverWearOMG - I am not NOT NOT NOT into party plan things.
I just dont 'do' them. But I went to an UCW party a few weeks ago and loved their stuff. So decided, because i still wanted more more more of it - that I would have my own party.
I had it last night.
About 10 friends came and I ended up getting One ietem free, plus 3 items half price! BONUS!!!
Thanks Friends!!
08 agosto Freakus MeakusOk - let me share something BIZZARE with you...........
Yesterday morning I was dropping Deedee off at Leanne's new house at Edensor Park. I was running late (surprise surprise) and pulled out of her street in a rush. I see this asian woman, about 30, walking down the road (footpath) in the distance, holding a weeones hand.
I thought to myself 'that woman has a jacket on like our old studio jackets, she must have gotten it at best and less too'.
As I zoom past (and those that know me well know that I would have been zooming) I realise...
SHE IS WEARING A "BANKS SCHOOL SCOTTISH DANCERS" Jacket!!!!!!!
OMG!!!!!!!!!!!! How amazing is that!!!
If I hadn't been so late I would have stopped the car and said 'excuse me, do you realise you are wearing my dancing studio jacket - as in MY DANCING STUDIO!!!! Where on earth did you get it?'
I am assuming that it was Gemma's or Jennifers or some other ex dancer who lived around those parts and has put it in an op-shop bag.
Weird hey!!!!!!!!! This is the wee dancer that is on the back of the jacket....
![]() 03 agosto Funny Funny BoyConnor is sooooo cheeky!
Tonight we were up at the shops at Winston Hills (whilst CJ was at highland after they BOTH had been at Irish - but I'll get to that in a minute). Anyway - there is the sign that says 'no shoes, no yelling, no running, no eating, no jumping' Connor comes up to Mark and I and with this cheeky grin says 'I doing all of those 'no' things Mummy! But Im not eating, Darcy is!' LOL
Now about Irish - he LOVED it! And Kate said he was fine. She was surprised he could skip already. She said to me 'he is such a character, has so much confidence' He kept saying to her 'so when's it MY turn!' LOL! 02 agosto This is all a bit strange.....Hard to use this new doovy 'spaces live' - Im feeling all confused!!
It looks good though - at least it takes up the full page of my screen instead of only half.
It is soooo cold here today.
I have had the heater on for 24 hours - god help the electricty bill.
I was SUPPOSED to start working at tafe today, doing a few hours interpretting. I was really looking forward to it - but it fell through yesterday. Stupid consultant double booked intepreters. Not happy jan.
So instead, i had a lazy day at home. Had a wee nap for an hour at lunch time when Darcy was asleep (Ive been sleeping so poorly at night it was good to have a 'rest' day!)
I swept and mopped and then dropped the kids with mum and went to the gym before picking up CJ from school.
Oh oh oh - gonna start Connor at Irish tomorrow! OMG! |
