    Reports, Reviews........RUBBISH!!!!!!!!!!

Well it's a week of it this week. I can't WAT for Wednesday to be over....

This afternoon I receive CJ and Cons reports - don't really know what to expect... Hope they will be ok...... Hope they will be good! lol

Then Tuesday at lunchtime I have a review meeting with one of my HS students. Have invited all and sundrie, so the Principals office is going to be a mighty tight fit! Have had to get her report all done ready for that.

Then race back Tues arvo for CJs Parent Teacher Interview after school. Then race off to highland then on to RG... must remember that i have to pick up Dee from preschool on this day. Every time I run the scenario through my head I forget she is out there at school! opps!!

Wednesday gotta have kids up at crack of dawn (Actually may see if the older 2 can sleep at the Parents!) Ive got to drop Dee at Leannes about 7.45 so that Im at one of my Ctown schools by 8.20, ready for a Kindy review meeting at 8.30 (another report that had to be done). Then get back onto my caseload for that day, am hoping the meeting only goes until school starts so I can go over to my proper timetable for that morning!! Then squeeze in another student who i will have missed the day before because of the HS review meeting.

Then I have Con's PT interview this day!!!

Im so shitty! They are supposed to put them on the same day!!! But Con's teacher forgot that CJ's was on the Tuesday. Even though CJ was sent down by her teacher with the note of when she had put her interview and Miss A said she took note of it! YEAH RIGHT! I didnt want to go up and cause a fuss, because I do want to see her and knowing the parents in that class they will take all the spots and stay in there double the time.

Add to this my other two IEP reports that need to be done and in by the end of term, but one meeting Ive already had and the other Im not having until week 2 next term - phew! But still gotta get the reports done.

So yes, you can see why I can't wait for my working week to end!

    Mass

We have just gotten home from Mass. I do enjoy taking CJ (and sometime Connor) to the 9.30 one. I love the sense of Community, and seeing the same faces at the same mass.
It is the one that has the Children's Liturgy and so makes it all a bit more meaningful for them. However, CJ hasn't been going out to the CL because they were told that if they were studying the sacraments they weren't allowed to go out of the mass (this was by head boss priest who I dont like very much). I think it is silly. They are only out of the Mass until just before the Offertory, which means its the readings and Fr's sermon they are away for - all of which is explained much better in the chns group.

Anyway, 2 thing from mass today drove me nuts.
Firstly, it is the 2000th anniversary of St Paul as of today. This is going to be the 'year of St Paul' until he 29th June 2009. Great no problem - HOWEVER....

Because of this the Pope has decreed that anyone who makes a pilgramage to Rome and visit's St Paul's chuch when his body is (supposidly) laid to rest (without a head?) will get a plenary indulgence.

ARE WE STILL LIVING IN THE DARK AGES!!!!!!!!!!
    I MEAN FOR GOODNESS SAKE!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have just googled this and this is the Vatican's official notification - - - --

The means to obtain the Plenary Indulgence are as follows:

"All Christian faithful - truly repentant, duly purified by the Sacrament of Penance and restored with Holy Communion - who undertake a pious visit in the form of a pilgrimage to the papal basilica of St. Paul on Rome's Via Ostiense and pray in accordance with the intentions of the Supreme Pontiff, are granted and imparted Plenary Indulgence for the temporal punishment of their sins, once they have obtained sacramental remission and forgiveness for their shortcomings.

"Plenary Indulgence may be gained by the Christian faithful, either for themselves or for the deceased, as many times as the aforementioned acts are undertaken; it remains the case, however, that Plenary Indulgence may be obtained only once a day.

"In order that the prayers pronounced on these holy visits may lead and draw the souls of the faithful to a more intense veneration of the memory of St. Paul, the following conditions are laid down: the faithful, apart from pronouncing their own prayers before the altar of the Blessed Sacrament, ... must go to the altar of the Confession and pray the 'Our Father' and the 'Creed', adding pious invocations in honour of the Blessed Virgin Mary and St. Paul; and such acts of devotion must remain closely linked to the memory of the Prince of the Apostles St. Peter".

    WHAT THE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!??????????

The second thing at Mass that drove me nuts was that there was a special collection (so the 3rd of the mass) that was decreed by Cardinal Pell, as a collection for the Pope on his visit here! Ummm, isn't the Vatican the wealthiest business in the world? Why do we need to give the Pope money????? (I put in two 5c pieces!). If every church at every mass in Sydney, or all of NSW or all of Australia are doing that - WHAT IS HE GONNA GET!!! I mean, honestly.... I dont mind putting in money to the other 2 collections. I dont think Priests get paid enough for all the work they do, I know that the other collection goes to St Vinnies, I dont mind those 2 colllections at all. BUT I DRAW THE LINE TO PAYING MONEY TO THE POPE!!!!

On some lovely notes from Mass, Ceilidh saw Fr Anthony out in the courtyard afterwards. He is beautiful. He came up and met the Primary Scripture kids last Thursday, and is meeting the infants next Thursday. We met him after mass last week when we asked him a question from Ceilidh's mass journal. Ceilidh went up and asked Fr to bless her cross that Mandy, Leilani and Kaiesha gave her for her birthday. She was so happy to see him.

Secondly we saw Mrs Kenny from school. She runs the scripture. I spoke to her about CJ attending the church group they were going to run on Thursday lunchtimes, it's suposed to be for Yr 5&6 but she would like to go, and I would like her to go because she will get a better understanding of the bible etc before she does the rest of  her sacraments next year. (The group is being run by the Anglican church but I dont mind, the bible is the bible!)

Thirdly, we ran into CJs group teacher for her confirmation classes, Sarah. She was happy to see Cj there and had a little chat to her and remembered her name. Sarah asked if Ceilidh had been to the Children's Liturgy and we said 'no, Fr Fuller said they weren't allowed' she said she thought that was wrong too. So, maybe next week CJ will go to the CL, seeings as Sarah said she could, (she wouldnt go today even though I told her to! But the 'teacher' said she could go, so she might!)

I would like to take Ceilidh to the mass at Randwick on the 20th. It is $15 to secure a seat on the bus from Lpool. It leaves at 7am and gets to the transition spot at 8am, then you have to walk 2-4km to the racecourse!! I wonder if it is possible just to stay at Beau's the night before and walk across. Actually, we could probably just go out onto the verandah at Beau's and watch the Mass!! Couldn't get communion blessed by Pope-y though.... Hmmmm me is thinking........

    KUNG FU FIGHTING!!

Last night we went out with the Besties to see Kung Foo Panda! All of the kids had their 'partners' there! Leanne, Sally and I went stag! Jacob and CJ were
together, Brodie and Connor, Darcy and Noah and Sam brought his wee girlfriend - Rasmine!!! It was hilarious!!! Jacob was trying to put his arm around CJ before the movie started! LOL CJ was saying 'Stop it!!!' and loving EVERY minute of it!!! LOL!

The movie was great!!!! It was a fundraiser from school so the entire audience were MRPS people and friends.

I got some wonderful pix, and can't upload them because Im out of broadband and Im at Sals for dinner now but she doesn't have a card reader and i didnt bring the photo cord and her camera takes an XD card not an SD card. Damn it!!

So I will try and do from The Parents tomorrow.

I thoroughly recommend the movie! Go and see it!

    Ceilidh's Project

I wrote a few weeks ago about how proud I was of CJ and all the work she had put into her National Parks project. Im pretty sure I wrote and said about how ecstatic the teacher was when she saw it, and she sent it up to the AP to show her.

Well, as part of the same project they had to do a speech. BOth Ceilidh and I had been so interested in what we learnt when doing her project that I organised that family outing to the Royal to see the Jibbon Rock Engravings, and you saw the pictures I took.
The week before last Snapfish had 1c photos. So I got 100 printed from my files, and included in them were the ones from RNP.

I had told CJ to take them with her when she did her speech, that she would get major Brownie points for having photos to back up her speech. She whinged and argued with me (what a shock!) but on the day, she did take them with her.

Well, when she got home she said "Mummy, Mrs Kemp said I got a bonus mark for having the photos to talk about with my speech. She was so happy'. I must admit - I DID say 'I told you so!'

So, last week she comes racing home from school on Friday, she got a merit award at assembly for 'Excellent Project Presentation'!! I am so proud of her!!! She really deserved it!!

We are in the middle of the next one now! It (and Connor's recycleable one) are due next Monday. So SUnday will be spent finishing them off. Ceilidh chose the seasons for her 'cycle'. But we have actually MADE a model of the sun with the earth passing around it showing the different seasons in Australia and Germany at that time.

It looks pretty damn cool (if I do saw so myself). Im not quite sure HOW she will get it to school as it's rather bulky! Mrs K will like it, Im sure, but how she will mark it, I dont know! LOL!

Connor's recycle one - well, we had to choose something that has been used before and make it into something else. It is not very interesting what we are doing - we are going to take 2 empty dogfood tins and turn them into a play phone, and also into those walking stilts!!

    Just Hangin Around!

On the Strike Day a few Thursdays ago we meet up with the Clique for a lovely day playing at a cafe.

These are some wonderful photos of the kiddlets. I love the 3rd one of them hanging and it looks like Aidan is giving birth to Leilani! LOL! They loved the yellow barrels to roll through, it was funny when Sam and Connor both tried to fit in it!!
They all got an iceblock at the end, that was part of the $5 children's meal; a meal (not just a sandwich, it could be a pizza, nuggets, other things too) a drink of juice or milk and an iceblock.
It's such a great cafe! They kids had a blast!

    Winter Solstice

Saturday was the 21st of June, which is the Winter Solstice. However, as it is a leap year - it is kinda on the 22nd as well this year.

I read (whilst helping CJ do her National Parks project last month) that Winter Solstice is the best time to see the whales go past our coast here in Sydney.

So yesterday it dawned sunny. CJ, Con and I went down to early mass, then came back and picked up Darcy and Daddy. We headed off to Kurnell to see the whales.

I packed the big jackets because it was 'breezy' in LIverpool. Well, at Kurnell it was BLOWING A GALE!!! So the water was pretty choppy! We did see some whales, but they weren't breaching (like they did 2 years ago when Peetie met us there). The kids were excited though, and I got some lovely photos. It was a great revision for DeeDee who was telling us the whole way that the Dad Whale was a Bull and the Mum Whale was a Cow and the Baby was a calf. And that whales had 'blowers'! I remember CJ coming home with lots of whale info from Preschool too!

After seeing them we went down to Captain Cooks landing site, but of course, it was fenced off as they are doing major refurbishing.

So we then got some hot chippies, got in the car and drove to Peta and Johns at Carringbah (only 15mins from Kurnell). We got to Wii!!!!!!! LOL It was so much fun! I RULE at the Bowling! LOL I wanted to see my fitness age (trying to beat Petas '71'! Lol) but the batteries went flat! DAMN!!

Then Con and CJ got right into Lord of the Rings internet game, CJ helped John on his computer and it was linked to Peta and Connie on Peta's laptop! It was very funny! COuld have left them there, they had so much fun (seriously did think about it! LOL)

Peet got some good shots of the kids on her new camera, and heres the ones from me at Kurnell!

When we first arrived we stayed in the car for 10mins to check out what was going on. The kids popped their heads out of the sunroof to watch for the whales!

    Happy Birthday Kaiesha!

Yesterday (after the car fiasco) Darcy and I headed out to Menangle House to help celebrate Kaiesha's 6th birthday.
    SN850894
Kaiesha, Emi and Brodie are Darcy's bestest friends in the world. It doesn't matter that Kaiesha is 6 (now), Brodie is 7 and Emi is 5!!! She loves them to death!!

    Her are some pix....

So, a lovely afternoon was had out there at the beautiful old stone house.

I was sad that CJ and Con couldn't be there, but just couldn't justify $70 worth of lessons would have been missed if they had come too.

      SN850895   SN850896SN850897  SN850899
So, after they finished dancing Mark came out to Matt and Chris' (that's Mandy's ex and his friends) house with the kids for us to all have dinner together and for K to open her presents.

It was a lovely evening after a wonderful day. Noisy noisy noisy evening cause the kids were playing in the front room and then dancing and then fighting! LOL

I took a video too, not sure if I will upload to utube, too funny!!! Will have to watch it and check it out!!

    MY CAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!! MY BAG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Last night, about 4am I remember waking up to a noise. It was a muffled noise and I thought 'what was that?' but couldn't hear anything else and went back to sleep. This morning dad arrives to take kids to dancing and discovers that, our car window has been smashed and that my handbag has been stolen. THE CAR IS UNDER MY BEDROOM WINDOW!!!!!!

So - this morning, in between teaching, we have been on phone to insurance, police, glass people, banks. Trying to organise everything. There was only about $5 in my purse but it's all the cards of course, that are the drama..

Add to this that one stupid bank says that they can't cancel the card until they know the card number. we look at the statement, there is no card number, there is only the visa account number - which isn't the same thing. GRRRRR. So Mark handled that call this morning, now Im in from dancing I have to ring them back at sort it out with them...

    NOT HAPPY!!!!!!!!
They took nothing else. Didnt take Marks Disabled sticker, didnt take the etag, didnt take the bluetooth. JUST MY BAG (which was on the floor in the front, they must have shone a torch in the window. It freaks me out!!!!!!!!!!!

These are the videos from dance-a-rama! Firstly CJ's jazz (she's the beautiful one in the fluro, not the gorgeous dancer in front - who is actually 3 months younger than CJ! WOW!)
Then we have Con's boys jazz - which he did with his mate
Then it's CJs contemporary - and then Connor's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (which was a impro!!! Well, that's one word for it..............)

I'm so proud of them both!!! They looked so beautiful and had such a wonderful time!! The night was awesome!

    Dance-A-Rama!!!

CJ and Con both were dancing in the 'inschool' concert tonight. It's for those dancers who aren't in performance group. Connor really shouldnt have done it, as he does have a solo and IS in performance group. But the teachers said he could do the Boys Dance as other boys would enter if Connor did. And sure enough, all the boys wanted Con in their group! lol!

CJ, at first, was really excited about it - but as the weeks have passed she has gotten more and more upset and scared about it all. I dont know what to do about her really. She loves dancing, she says she wants to be in Performance Group and she wants to have a solo - but when push comes to shove she won't put the work in needed to be in them. And she doesn't show the teachers the outgoing funny cheeky side that she has, that would get her in...... It's a real battle.

So, with much trepidation for CJ I got them ready this arvo, and acted all happy and Joy Joy and hoped that when her friends came along she would get into the mood and give it all she had... I had no such qualms about Boyo, I knew he would.

They were BEAUTIFUL!! I was/am so proud of them!!!!!!!!!!! They had a really lovely time, and were raving all the way home. I took photos and videos of their dances, & am in the process of uploading them. Unfortunately I dont have alot of photos because I was more excited about getting the videos - and can only do one thing at a time!!

Ceilidh looked beautiful in her two outfits. Her contemporary was thanks to Leilani and Mandy. A gorgeous sparkly leotard with rainbow chiffon skirt attached. Her jazz as Casey's jazzoutfit. And she was very excited to be wearing it.

Connor wore his rainbow jeans and jacket for his jazz (which was to the Jackson 5 song - ABC) and black tights and black singlet with wings painted on the back for his contemporary. And MAN - you have NEVER seen a contemporary like it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There are no words to describe how hillariously funny it was, and how proud he is of what he did!!!

The first photo is of CJ and her 'Royal Enemy' Blake. She 'likes'  Blake but she said 'we have to pretend we are royal enemies in class so that people dont tease us!' lol

    Altar Boyz & Catholic Girls!

Ok ok ok - so only 2 of us 4 lovely ladies are Catholic. Maybe I should say 'Christian Girls', but it just doesn't sound as catchy!

Tonight Peta, Sally, Mandy and myself went out for our monthly 'girls night' (now there I could say 'Girls time of the month' and give it another whole meaning!)

We went into the city to see 'Altar Boyz' at the Seymore Centre (becoming my 2nd home that place!) We went out first for dinner at the pub Sal and I discovered in December - YUM!!

Altar Boyz has in it Peta's best friends house mate! lol that's a mouthful! His name is Andrew and he taught at RG last year too. So it was exciting to have a bit of 'familiarity' with it as well!

Well the SHow - IT WAS AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

From the moment we sat down and they started the first song it was JOY!!God it was funny!!!! To the point of tears running down our faces!!!!  We were 5 rows back from the front and we were cheering and howling the whole show! The first song was part of a hymn that Peta and I sung at Primary school - so I was so excited! LOL!!

At the end of the show we met up with Andrew and told him how wonderful it was. We met another actor from the show, Cameron, and he said 'Oh yes, you're the girls who were 5 rows back, in the centre! You looked like you were having a good time!!' HOW EMBARRASING!! But oh yes we were!!!!!!

So many funny lines in it, that I can't do justice to - like 'Forget about your H.S.C. you've got the B.I.B.L.E.'

I really want to go again, and I want to take Ceilidh and Connor. CJ will love it for the God-Songs. Con will just love the dancing!!

Here are some photos of us with Andrew after the show.

    June Bug

Perfer et obdura; dolor hic tibi proderit olim.
Be patient and tough; someday this pain will be useful to you.
(p 145 Thanks for the Memories. Cecelia Ahern)

I've been thinking of Rowan alot lately. His due date was in June so every year he has 2 special memory times. It's funny because, for at least the first part of the year every month is filled up. Dad in January, Rowan in Feb, Me in March, CJ and Con in April, Case in May, Rowan's other day in June, Peta in July. Then we have a break for August. Then DeeDee in September, Mark and Mum in October and Nanna Jo in December. Maybe Peta and/or Casey will fill up the free months with their bubbas.

Last week Peta went to a psychic and she was adamant she felt Rowan in the room. From the moment she arrived, til she rang me that night to tell me about it all she could feel his presence.

Ironically that same day I had been thinking of him really strongly. One of the blogs I regularly read is a lady whose 3 year old was killed in a car accident. She also had a baby stillborn at, I think it was 21 weeks. And he was born in June, so reading her blog - and crying - had brought Rowan to the foreground of my mind again.

Then, last night I started reading Cecelia Aherns latest book. I really love her work. I am so pleased to have 'found' her. This one is called 'Thanks for the Memories.'

The book starts with a tragic accident, where a pregnant woman falls down the stairs and loses her baby. She is speaking to her dad about 'why' and 'would the baby be in heaven' and the response made me sob in my heart out. Absolutely gut wrenching hiccuping sobs to the point that I had to sit up in bed as I couldn't breath. It put into words all the things I have thought about Rowan over the last 10 years. It summed it all up in one long amazing paragraph.

IT IS BEAUTIFUL ............ (and I hope it is true)

    p40
' Where is he now, Dad? How can you even die when you haven't even been born yet?'
'Ah, love.' He takes my hand and squeezes it again.
    'Tell me.'
This time he thinks about it. Long and hard. He pats my hair, with steady fingers takes the strands from my face and tucks them behind my ears. He hasn't done that since I was a little girl.
'I think he's in heaven, love. Oh, there's no thinking involved - I know so. He's up there with your mother, yes he is. Sitting on her lap while she plays rummy with Pauline, robbing her blind and cackling away. She's up there all right.'
He looks up and wags his forefinger at the ceiling. 'Now you take care of baby Sean for us, Gracie, you hear? She'll be telling him all about you, she will, about when you were a baby, about the day you took your first steps, about the day you got your first tooth. She'll tell him about your first day of school and your last day of school and every day in between, and he'll know all about you so that when you walk through those gates up there, as an old woman far older than me now he'll look up from rummy and say "Ah, there she is now. The woman herself. My mammy." Straight away he'll know.'

    I hope so.....

As much as a day at home doing nuffin would have been nice, we also have been looking for a day to visit the RNP, since Ceilidh did her project on it.

So, as it was only overcast and not raining we decided to go. We couldn't be gone too long as I had to come back to teach at 4.30.

We arrived at Audley Weir at about 11.30 and went into the visitors centre. We met the 2 ladies that sent CJ all the information and they really appreciated that she loved it all so much. Mark caught up with his friends, and then we drove out to this nice lookout and picnic spot in a place starting with W that I can't remember the name of, and Im too lazy to get up and look on the map! It was on the road to Bundeena anyway.

After that we drove to Bundeena and to Jibbon Beach.

WE THEN WALKED THE 1.4km along the beach to the point, and then along the bushtrack to find the rock engravings. The kids loved it, although they whinged about the walk (I was whinging in my head too!!).

The engravings were amazing - to think they have been there for hundreds, maybe thousands of years.....

We then walked BACK along the beach to the car and came home.

Got some yummy hot chips from around the corner and had a late lunch of chippy sandwiches. YUM YUM YUM!!

I was soooo tired, just wanted to have a nanna nap, but had to get ready for lessons, its the last lesson for quite a few of my kids before the concert next Sunday, so I couldnt cancel lessons even though it was a public holiday.

My thighs are sooo sore!!! I am sooo unfit!

I love the last photo - Ceilidh was so glad we were back at the end of the beach, the car was just up the hill!!
