March 31 The Happiness Trap Newsletter, March 2009www.thehappinesstrap.com Our society generally defines success in terms of achieving goals: fame, wealth, status, respect; a big house, a luxury car, a prestigious job, a huge salary. When people achieve these things, our society tends to label them as “successful”. But by this conventional notion of success, Martin Luther King was not successful: after all, he did not achieve his goal of equal rights for people of all skin colors. And yet – we remember, admire and respect him. Why is that? Because he stood for something: he lived by his values! So an alternative definition of success is living by our values. When we define success in this way, we can all be successful human beings. Yes, right now, in this very moment – even though there may be all sorts of important goals we have not achieved yet – we can act on our values. And therein lies the secret of ‘instant success’. Actually, this is a great question to ask yourself at the end of each day: 'How well did I love?' If your answer is 'Pretty good', why not take a moment to savor that? Reflect on what you did that was loving - towards yourself or others - and notice the sense of vitality and fulfillment associated with those actions. And if your answer is 'Not so good', then don’t beat yourself up – just reflect on some simple things you could do differently tomorrow, and what that would mean to you - then use those thoughts to guide your actions tomorrow. The “Success” Trap What does the word “success” mean to you? When you hear “She is very successful” or “He’s made a success of himself” what does that conjure up for you? Our society generally defines success in terms of achieving goals: fame, wealth, status, respect; a big house, a luxury car, a prestigious job, a huge salary. When people achieve these things, our society tends to label them as “successful”. But if we buy into this popular notion of success, we set ourselves up for a lot of unnecessary suffering. How so? Well, this view of success inevitably pulls us into the goal-focused life - always striving to achieve the next goal: more money, larger house, better neighborhood, smarter clothes, slimmer body, bigger muscles, whiter teeth etc. And the illusion is, “When I achieve this, then I will finally be successful”. And of course, the corollary of that is “When I am successful, I will be happy.” The problem is: a) we may never achieve those goals, or they may be a long way off – which leads to chronic frustration and disappointment; and b) even if we do achieve them, they will not give us lasting happiness; usually they give us a brief moment of pleasure, satisfaction, joy – and then, we are focusing on the next goal. Furthermore, if you buy into this notion of success, it will put you under tremendous pressure - because you have to keep on achieving and achieving to maintain it. As long as you keep achieving those goals, then you are successful - ‘a winner’, ‘a high-achiever’. But if you stop achieving, then you are no longer successful; you are a ‘has-been’, or ‘a failure’ or ‘a loser’. It is this popular notion of success that leads to the widespread issue of “fragile self-esteem”. Fragile self-esteem is very common in high-performing professionals. These high-achievers often develop a strong positive self-image based on their performance. So as long as they perform well, they have high self-esteem. But as soon as their performance drops, their self-esteem comes tumbling down: from ‘winner’ to ‘loser’, from ‘high-achiever’ to ‘failure’. In The Happiness Trap, I suggested an alternative definition of success: success means living by your values. If we redefine success in this way, it makes life so much easier – because in any moment, we can act on our values – even though our goals may be a long way off. Suppose you want to change career and become a cardiac surgeon – well, you are looking at a minimum of ten years of your life before you can achieve this goal. That’s a long time. But suppose the core value underlying that goal is to help others. Well, you can act on that value over and over and over, all day, every day for the rest of your life – even if you never become a cardiac surgeon. By the conventional notion of success, Martin Luther King was not successful: he did not achieve his goal of equal rights for people of all skin colors. And yet – we remember, admire and respect him. Why? Because he stood for something: he lived by his values! And when living by our values becomes the definition of success, it means we can be instantly successful right now. All we need to do is act on our values. From this perspective, the mother who gives up her career to act on her values around nurturing and supporting her children is far more successful than the CEO who earns millions but completely neglects his values around being there for his kids. Albert Einstein put it this way: ‘Try not to become a man of success, but rather try to become a man of value.’ And Helen Keller put it like this: ‘I long to accomplish a great and noble task, but it is my chief duty to accomplish small tasks as if they were great and noble.’ So next time your mind is beating you up for not being successful enough, try saying ‘Thanks mind!’ And then ask yourself ‘What’s a tiny little thing I can do right now, that’s consistent with my values?’ Then go ahead, and do it. And therein lies the secret of ‘instant success’. Responding To A Crisis A crisis can present in many different forms, from the death of a loved one, to loss of a job, to collapse of a marriage, to financial disaster. When we are hit by a crisis, an emotional storm whips through our mind and body, tossing painful thoughts and feelings in all directions. No one wants a crisis, but we will all inevitably experience them. So when it happens, let’s turn it into an opportunity to develop important coping skills, using the acronym: S.T.O.P. Slow your breathing Take a few deep breaths, and mindfully observe the breath flowing in and out. This will help to anchor you in the present. Take note Take note of your experience: consciously notice what you are thinking, feeling and doing. Notice how your thoughts and feelings are swirling around, and can easily carry you away if you allow them. Open up Open up around your feelings. Breathe into them and make room for them. Open up around your thoughts too: take a step back and give them some room to move, without holding onto them or trying to push them away. Pursue your values Once you’ve done the above three steps, you will be in a mental state of mindfulness. The next step is to pursue a course of action, guided by your values. Ask yourself, “What do I want to be about, in the face of this crisis? What do I want to stand for? How would I like to act, so that I can look back years from now and feel proud of my response? What personal strengths can I cultivate during this process?” Use these values to guide what you do next. To download a free handout on coping with crisis (which includes the above acronym) click here: http://www.thehappinesstrap.com/upimages/What_To_Do_In_A_Crisis.pdf.pdf Parting Words 'Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage.' - Anais Nin 'The most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched, they must be felt with the heart.' - Helen Keller 'Thousands of candles can be lighted from a single candle, and the life of the candle will not be shortened. Happiness never decreases by being shared.' - Buddha March 30 The DashThe Dash - By Linda Ellis I read of a reverend who stood to speak He noted that first came the date of her birth For that dash represents all the time For it matters not, how much we own, So think about this long and hard, If we could just slow down enough And be less quick to anger If we treat each other with respect So when your eulogy’s being read March 29 CloakroomFriday night, when we were out at Petersham Town Hall I was so totally amazed by the venue. It is still in it's historical elegance and I can't wait until our SDA ball this year as the debs will look beautiful there.
What really blew me away was that in the Ladies Bathroom they had the cloakroom still all set up - empty of course. It was sooo amazing!!! So here is a picture of the cloakroom, and with Sal and I and the cloak room. And of Darren Hanlon on the stage! I think only 2 photos worked - the Darren ones. Will have to fix up the others when at Mum and Dad's next as I'm out of broadband.
March 28 Indie = FolkLast night SalSim and I went out to a gig at Petersham Town Hall. It was to see a guy called Darren Hanlon.
He was great! He reminded me HEAPS of Eric Bogle and no matter what people say - Indie is the same as Folk!! Cept maybe no bagpipes or tin whistle. But same kind of ballads and tunes and bango/guitar/ukelele type of string instruments.
The highlight of the evening would have been the cockroach that walked over our table at the pizza shop - as we were devouring our pizza - ewwwwww!!
Darren has a some gorgeous songs - the one I enjoyed the most would be 'fallen aeroplanes'. It's just so nice. Here are the lyrics. They don't sound like they flow - but that is because he has really irregular rythmns and timings throughout his songs.
Boy threw his guitar down and started beating his brow,
no matter how hard he tried he couldn’t justify. All a waste of time spent inventing words and rhyme, as the stars and the planets and the clock did laps. You see making up songs is for losers. I should build something she uses, like a box or a bed or cupboards or shelves. 'Cause songs are made of air, they can’t be any use to her. Better off try’na catch falling aeroplanes. Then girl said: “Boy don’t be so stupid, boy don’t be so daft, You’re not even right by half. And although you say your songs are fundamentally air, there’s also thousands of vibrations that stimulate the ear. In such a way that whenever I hear them they always make me smile. They’re just as tactile as a box or a bed or cupboards or shelves. So boy now stop your moping, cursing and no hoping, and get back in the saddle.” While she was still speaking, Towards his feet reaching, where lay his guitar. His head was swimming in an alphabet, soup letters swirled and words formed in his heart. He said: “I’m gonna build a song for us, With four verses and a chorus. On real estate your words inspired. And there we’ll live rent-free, sleep on beds of melody, and leave the key-change with the seasons.” And so that song he built was hers, with a chorus and four verse. And she woke to find him finally asleep March 27 5 Minute Management Course
She got in and crossed her legs, forcing her gown to reveal a leg. The priest nearly had an accident. After controlling the car, he stealthily slid his hand up her leg. The nun said, 'Father, remember Psalm 129?' The priest removed his hand But, changing gears, he let his hand slide up her leg again. The nun once again said, 'Father, remember Psalm 129?' The priest apologized 'Sorry sister but the flesh is weak.' Arriving at the convent, the nun sighed heavily and went on her way. On his arrival at the church, the priest rushed to look up Psalm 129. It said, 'Go forth and seek, further up, you will find glory.' Moral of the story: If you are not well informed in your job, you might miss a great opportunity. Lesson 3: A sales rep, an administration clerk, and the manager are walking to lunch when they find an antique oil lamp. They rub it and a Genie comes out. The Genie says, 'I'll give each of you just one wish.' 'Me first! Me first!' says the admin clerk. 'I want to be in the Bahamas , driving a speedboat, without a care in the world.' Puff! She's gone. 'Me next! Me next!' says the sales rep. 'I want to be in Hawaii , relaxing on the beach with my personal masseuse, an endless supply of Pina Coladas and the love of my life.' Puff! He's gone. 'OK, you're up,' the Genie says to the manager.. The manager says, 'I want those two back in the office after lunch.' Moral of the story: Always let your boss have the first say. Lesson 4 An eagle was sitting on a tree resting, doing nothing. A small rabbit saw the eagle and asked him, 'Can I also sit like you and do nothing?' The eagle answered: 'Sure, why not.' So, the rabbit sat on the ground below the eagle and rested. All of a sudden, a fox appeared, jumped on the rabbit and ate it. Moral of the story: To be sitting and doing nothing, you must be sitting very, very high up. Lesson 5 A turkey was chatting with a bull. Lesson 6 A little bird was flying south for the winter. It was so cold the bird froze and fell to the ground into a large field. Morals of the story: (1) Not everyone who shits on you is your enemy. (3) And when you're in deep shit, it's best to keep your mouth shut! THUS ENDS THE FIVE MINUTE MANAGEMENT COURSE March 26 37 is the year to get FIT!The last few weeks it's dawned on me that Im heading mighty close to 40 -and that scares me!
Not just because it's old! lol
But because my kids are still sooo young and I want to be able to do things with them and not be too exhausted to play.
The yoga was a good kickstart. I have loved it. It has put me 'in a good place' for the rest of the day and it has stretched me out.
The local gym, which is only just down the road, has a special on atm. Especially if you join up for a year.
So today I did!!
it has a creche as well - which means I dont have to always be asking mum and dad to watch deedee. This morning Darc and I dropped the kids at school early and we went for my 'meet and greet' with the trainer. She showed us both around (Dee was fascinated!) and then I went and put Madam in the creche and I did a 50min Aqua class - OMG! Exhausted! It was a 'boobachucka' class! LOLOLOL! They do 3mins of water weights and then 3mins for aerobics - non stop for the 50mins!!!!
After that I rolled out of the pool and stumbled to the sauna and spa for 20mins.
Then I went and got DeeDee and we played in the pool for 40mins. I am very tired, and think I will have a nap before this arvos activities. But I do feel good! So I really hope I can keep it up - think it will be very good for me!!!!! On many levels! March 25 Cranky SpankyThis year I have TRIED to be more organised re work.
Although I only work two days a week (or perhaps a little BECAUSE I only work 2 days a week). I tend to leave all of my programming and report writing to the last minute - and then get into trouble that I've left bits out etc.
So this year I thought 'THATS GONNA CHANGE' and for the last few weeks (thanks partly to my lappy) I have been doing bits and pieces of my IEPS and other parts of my programme, ready for me to sit down this week/end and cut and paste it all together and print off. HITCH....
My thumbdrive decided today to tell me 'trying to install hardware, unable to use device'.
WHAT THE????? This happened first at work today. Although I was a 'little' concerned I wasn't very much because the work computers can be very weird.
So tonight, whilst sitting at maccas having a coffee (the kids were Prancing) I got out my lappy and thumbdrive and one of my kids files... IT SAID THE SAME THING! ARGGHHH!!! When I got home -tried it on this one - same thing....
Mark fiddled with it for an hour - no avail....
So after much ranting and raving and shouting, I sat down. Got onto this computers hard drive and went back to find all of the reports and programmes and bits that i have on here from over the years.
I have managed to get suitable outcomes and indicators for 3 of my 5 students and have built their programmes on that. I've written two of their needs analysis'. I've not done the other one because she is a new student and I have to have my brain in good thinking order to be able to write her one. The other 2 programmes are almost fully done on the thumbdrive, so I am going to leave it a day or two and am hoping that Lorraine's hubby may have a magic program that will open up stuffed devices... Lorraine, would he do you think???? And if he does, may I please drop off the thumbdrive and see if he can abracadabra the stuff off it??
So at 12.10am I am going to bed. It's no later than my usual bedtime, but instead of veging on the computer or in front of the tv for the past 2 hours I have actually been WORKING!!!!
I hope that it shows when it comes to 'programme reveal time' next Tuesday!!! March 23 AUSTRALIA!!!I am so looking forward to the 1st April. Yes it is CJ's birthday - Yes she is going to be 'double digits'
All of this is super-dooper exciting and scary
HOWEVER
I am SOOO ashamed at myself......
UNTIL the week it CLOSED at the movies. Sally and I were so very very very very lucky.... The week of my birthday was the last week that Australia was showing in cinemas, and we went Gold Class!!!!
It was BRILLIANT!!! SOooOOOoooo Bazz Lurhman, ridiculously idiotic and full of puns and oh so camp. I LOVED IT!
The only thing that would have made it better was if Hugh had broken into song...
If you loved Moulin Rouge, you will love AUSTRALIA!!! I promise!!! March 22 High Tea!Today we didnt have plans for the afternoon - so of course, we had to make some!!
Poor Boy has been asking and asking to see his God Brother, he needed some Sam Time. So this arvo, after we got home from Ceilidh's tap workshop, we headed out to Sal's house for afternoon tea and playing!!
We had yummy homemade muffins and Coles made cheesecake, then we headed to the park.
We got to the park and there was Miss Moo!! I had msged Deb to say that if they weren't doing anything to pop down for a play. So CJ was very excited and had a lovely time! Con was in his element, he and Sam DID NOT STOP for 3 whole hours. Dee spun round and round so much on the spinny thing that vommited in the bushes!! All in all a lovely day!!!!! March 21 Cross CountryYesterday was Ceilidh and Con's cross country at school.
Whenever I think of X Country I think of Tomkinson's School Days and the 30 mile hop!!
That's the sort of image that comes to mind with me and long distance running. The pain, the blurry vision, children dropping down cliff-faces and being carted off by ambulances - yes I really DO relate my x-country to Ripping Yarns!!
I was no runner at school - however, as my mother proudly pointed out on facebook yesterday - I never piked. I always finished the race (last) to give that point to my team. It may have been that the next last finished a whole lap in front of me..... However - Mark is from tougher stock. He is a runner (or WAS a runner). A very good runner who got 2nd in the state when he was in highschool. All long distance events.
I always thought Con was going to be a good runner, he has the stamina and consistency. I thought CJ took after me! LOL
Well, yesterday - BOTH of them finished the race!! Con in 2nd place for the Year 2's and CJ in .... wait for it..... 7th place!!
I was so amazingly STOKED for her (for them both, but especially for her!!) CJ is adament she gets to go to zone. She says they were told that the top 8 go to zone if they did under 10mins,and she did it in 8.36.
So we shall wait and see!! But excitment all round!! I didnt have them go to Carolyns last night - I figured that Carolyn doesn't deserve the crap they would have been dancing for her!! So instead they watched tv, Con went to Nanna and Pops for a play, they had a long long bath and then bed!
Ready for dancing today! March 20 Darcy's Artwork??Darcy's drawing from preschool today.
Mummy and Darcy standing outside on a beautiful sunny day. We can tell which one is Mummy, can't we!!!![]() The sun's in the sky, so are the clouds, there's grass underfoot. Mummy and Darcy Eileen are standing holding hands. I knew which one was mummy and which one was Darcy by the size of our boobies. My boobies are bigger than my head! Hers are the same size as her eyes!! We both have very high navels too! I shall try and scan it, although it's only pencils so probably won't come out - buggar! March 19 Photo on previous postI thought I'd better clarify the photo from the last post - with Darcy holding a bottle of wine !LOL
We all paid $4 for the 'hire' of the undercover venue. Each person went in the draw to win a bottle of wine with a "GARRARDS" label on it. Mum or Peta (I can't work out which!) paid for Darcy's ticket.
Darcy won!!
So the photo of her is her 'WIN' not that I want my 4 year old to be an alcholic!!! ;D March 18 FAMILY REUNIONOn Sunday we had a big family reunion at a park near Nanna's house. It was actually Poppa's side of the family 'GARRARD' but Nanna is the only one living of that generation who is left. My Pop had 5 siblings (I think) and my pops brother married one of my nan's sisters - so mum has cousins that are genetically more like sisters than cousins! There would have been probably 100 people there i reckon. Just trying to work it out. We had 9 tables and at least 10 people at a table - plus zillions of kids racing around. My mums generation REALLY enjoyed it. They got to see the cousins that they grew up with, or not with but knew. And their children. My darling darling Nanna had the best time - as is evident in the many photos of her!! My kids had a marvellous time with their cousins - both ones they know well and ones they've never met before!!! I had a lovely time just sitting there chillin'!! Here are some snaps!! March 17 Coldplay - hey hey Ok... Lots to blog lots to blog!! 1. We arrived, parked in the parking area right there - with our included parking ticket 2. We walked up and lined up for just 5mins until they opened the doors - got to check out Peta's groovy shoes (lovely shoes -I gave them to her - just a bit silly with what she was wearing!! 3. We walked in and flashed out special letter and were directed to the 'Grand Ballroom' 4. The SEA of moshpit people HAD TO STOP for us - security guards holding them back - so that we 'the special ones' could walk through and go to the Ballroom. 5. Got our souvenier lanyards and sat down up the front of the ballroom. 6. Got free food - yummy. Rice and buttered chicken, prawns, other canapes and lots and lots of CHAMPAGNE!! YUMMY! 7. Met a LOVEY English couple sitting at the same table. I just chatted to them about everything in general. Peta found out how long they'd been here and all that jazz! lol 8. Saw 2 great special acts - one was a girl named Brianne (I think) 18 yo and played all her own music. She was nice and soulful. 9. Second singer was a bloke named Clint C (something). He was AWESOME. Supposidly 23 - but if so - he's had a VERY hard life! LOL. He's work was amazing and we thoroughly enjoyed it. 10. Made our way to our seats. 11. Peta made a friend in the 'smoking door' who told her (in the length it takes to suck down a fag) that her son died 15months ago and that she came and saw Coldplay 2 nights before and that tonight she'd had her camera 'cloaked' 12. Peta makes 'special' friends easily! LOLOLOL 13. Watched the most boag support band that just kept playing long notes on their keyboards and guitars and then would break into a few words, then back to long notes again 14. Above band also 'praised' hand gestures all the time. 15. The roadies came on to clean up the stage and then suddenly there was only one roadie - with a broom and suddenly the spotlight was on him and he was doing a hiphop/lyrical number - with the broom. 16. THEN THE SHOW BEGAN!! 17. Took a zillion photos - even though you're not supposed to!! 18. Took a few videos too - very naughty!! 19. Was glad we had seats - our side sat down and 'danced in their seats' until we got up to Viva La Vida - then the room BLEW THE ROOF OFF! 20. The song Yellow had huge balloons come down from the ceiling - was awesome 21. Also had flurocent butterflies blowing out in another song - very very cool. 22. Spotted Shane Warne earlier in teh night - seats near us. Then he ended up on the stage for a song!! 23. After the show got some butterflies for the kids 24. Peta bought a gorgeous coldplay jacket for me (I paid for the sleeves! lol) 25. Went back to have a yummy icecream in the ballroom and to try and win a computer -didn't win! 26. By the time we got back to the car there was no line up to get out - so drove straight out and home!! AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING!!!!! March 16 Wow - What a birthday! Am I spoilt or WHAT!Ok, so the best birthdays are those that you dont expect to be anything particuarily special - and they are!!
Saturday morning dawned bright and early with the three kiddlets jumping on top of me at around 7am. They had their present in tow. Mark had asked Mum to take the two youngens shopping when I was at Newcastle with Ceilidh last week. And the kids had picked the present for me.
I got from them a pink tartan headband/scarf, a sample pack of anti-aging serum(lol) and an oven mit set (lol again!)!! We all got up and got ready for RG and then we left early and the kids and I went to Macca's for a special birthday brekkie of hotcakes!!
We got to dancing and the lovely Rosie gave me the most beautiful Willow Tree angel! It was gorgeous!! Then the lovely Debbie gave me the most beautiful card that has a bookmark attached with the lovilest affirmation on it. Then we went for coffee and the lovely Mandy bought me my morning tea!!
After that we went back to the studio. Lots of people (fb people) were walking in and wishing me a happy birthday. All of a sudden I look up and there is Mark - standing in the foyer with a HUGE slap of carrot cake!! OMG I nearly died!!! So then they ALLLLLLL knew it was my birthday!!!! (and they all enjoyed the cake!!) I then dropped CJ at Miss Jens for maths and the lovely Jenny gave me the tupperware cupcake holder that I have been oggling over for the last 3 months!!!!!
So, you would think that was amazing enough wouldn't you - but know - there's more!!
We rush home and I jumped into the shower and to get ready for Peta to pick me up for Coldplay.I was ready before she arrived so I jumped online and low and behold there are 50 FIFTY facebook comments from various friends and peeps - wishing me a happy birthday!! LOL! It was AWESOME!!!! And this is added to the phonecalls from Mum and Nanna Jo, and the text messages from a dozen other people!! Then Peta arrived and Mum and Dad were close on her heels. OMGOSH!! Peta's present was a DOZEN books!!! It's the Robin Hobb series that Peta raves and raves about - I am SOOOOO excited!!!!!! Then Mum and Dad gave me a target gift voucher to spend and spend and spend! woohooo! Add to that my $30 from Beau and Im LAUGHING!! ;D And Nanna Josephine gave me some lottery tix - so I may be a millionaire!!! Then tonight Sally gave me the most beautiful abstract dancer statue! I love it!!!!!
Ok - so again - this is amazing right??? There's no more - right??? OH YES THERE IS!!!! Off we went to COLDPLAY!!! But that's a WHOLE OTHER BLOG!! You have to wait until tomorrow!! However, here is a sneak peek.....WWofC
March 15 Coldplay or better known as 'The Wicked Witch of Carringbah and her stripey socks!'Can't blog now, am too damn tired. It's 12.45am and I have to have Ceilidh at a Tap workshop at 9am at RG, having dropped boy at a birthday party (1.5hrs early) at 8.30 and then after the tap workshop off to a family reunion for the day, then off to see Australia in Gold Class with Sal in the night.
Busy busy busy - and lots to blog.
But will need to catch up on it later!!
Had the most MARVELLOUS birthday - will fix that post up later too Mwah
OX March 13 RGME!I asked the kids what they like about dancing at the moment. What their magic moments are.
Here are the responses... Ceilidh
Me getting a ticktock on TOP of the mat, not just on to a higher one. Seeing my friends and having classes with my old friends. That I still have LMB for a teacher because I love her, she is great.
Connor
Because I get new dances and new solos and I like playing with my friends and I like doing jazz, tap, ballet and acro and sometimes I get to watch some people dance, like Lucas, Ricki and i can't remember the rest.
Darcy I do like going for my friends but I love it because I HAVE A NEW SOLO! That i get to to TWO tap and jazz lessons.
I asked myself the same question...
I love that I go to a place where I have some wonderful friends to talk and chat with whilst my children are playing with their children.
I love that I can trust the teachers a zillion% to do the right thing for my kids and to bring out the very best in them.
I absolutely love that I am spoken to and respected as a dance teacher myself, instead of the ignoring and putting down that I received constantly at H's.
I love that my children feel so comfortable with their teachers and get excited and want to tell them funny little stories or what they did at school that day.
I love that Ceilidh will come home and show me the dance they learnt that day, or practise a stretch that Miss R has given her to help her core strength. I love that Connor does not whinge at all about 'oh, ive got dancing AGAIN today.' or "oh I have to practise again'. He just does it - and when he is practising his new jazz he adds the FUNNIEST little improv bits and tells me he is going to tell Miss Bec that it should be in the dance. I love that Darcy is ROCKING HER SOX OFF this year. She is eating breathing and sleeping dancing and thriving on the experience. Will not STOP practising - ever! March 12 FUNNY CJ CONVERSATION!!!!10 March
Funny CJ! (but didn't mean to be!)Picked kids up from school today, to drop at RG"s on my way to TAFE.
Interesting dialogue:
CJ: I'm reading a book Mummy bought me, Nanna.
ME: Are you? What's it called?
CJ: "The King's Fool"
ME: Is it good?
CJ: Yes, it's really an older kids' book, but mummy said it was alright for me.
ME: OK
CJ: It has only had one bad word in it. It wasn't the 'F' word.
ME: That's good!
CJ: It's the 'C' word.
ME: Oh!? (Jaw hitting floor!)
CJ: Yes, the 'CR' word.
ME: O H ! ! C R A P ! !
CJ: Yes, but I'm not allowed to say that!
CONNOR: (from the back) NO! But Nanna just did!!!
This is taken directly from Mum's blog (which most people can't see as it's private) |
