March 31 You've got the BeeeEEESsssT of BOTH Worlds....Can u hear me singing????
We went to see Hannah Montana in 3D today. It was very good! The kids loved it, and they loved their company - Leilani, Kaiesha and Sam.
We then had coffee at Mac Square (well we adults did) and the kids played, then we went to Sam's park and met up with the Whittards, and later Tina and Katie. We had chippy sandwiches and an early birthday cake for Ceilidh, iceblocks from Sally and a great play. Ceilidh got an awesome 'design your own highschool musical bag' from Sally and Sam!!! It is veery cool!!! And she loves it ALOT! :) We know that Casey will be VERY VERY jealous of the bag!!!! harharhar! March 29 Almost a birthday girl - and happy birthday Coz!Firstly - Happy 15th birthday to Michaela, my God Daughter and cousin! Hope you have a really lovely day!!
Secondly - Happy 16th birthday to Caitlin, my cousin (1st cousin once removed or something like that!). You are 'allowed' to have that boyfriend now! *g*
Thirdly (can I just say I wrote thridly then, cause my fingers work faster than my brain and thridly looks like a good word! I like it!)
SO
THRIDLY - Ceilidh is so excited about her birthday! Every morning she wakes up and says '5 more days mummy, or, as today's was 'in 2 more days I will be 9' I hate to tell her, it's really 3, this day has only just begun!' She had a half day at school yesterday and went shopping with Peta. they had a lovely time and their feet were sore from walking - poor diddums! God help her at the show on Tuesday! They got her birthday outfit (which she wants to wear to the movies tomorrow) a pair of new shoes and an epet - that she's been asking about forever. Ive told her she can't have the epet until Tuesday, mean mother that I am! She's not too upset about it as she couldnt use it properly anyway. We're speedlimited until the 1st April and you log onto the computer with this pet and 'explore' his world or some such thing!
March 28 say ahhhhhhhConnor has had a few trips to the dentist over the last few weeks. Before Easter his front bottom ones were filled and they looked great and today the dentist did his front top ones. He is so happy. He kept smiling and showing them off! He goes back on the 7th for 1 filling of back teeth and then in the 2nd wk of the hols he does the last filling and that's it.
So I dropped him off at school at the start of recess and picked CJ up. She is having a girls shopping afternoon with Peta. They are going out to get her birthday present!
She will be back for 3 so we can get to Carolyn's. After having no time off all year so far (cept for Cons Dental appointments) CJ is having most of todya. They're both having Tues (inc me *coughcough*) as we're going to the show for the 9 year olds birthday! And then they're having the last day off of term as we leave for Qld on the Thurs night, straight after RG. March 26 Champ of Champ VideosThese are 3 little videos I took at Champ of Champs on my digi camera. I haven't quite worked out all the camera's bitsies yet so these have no sound - sorry! But Im sure you can hum 2 flings and a flora to yourself whilst they are dancing! lol
The first one is Connie doing his fling The 2nd one is CJ doing her flora and
The 3rd one is of the champions fling - focussing on David Wilton.
Enjoy!
March 25 Things Ive forgotten to blog recently.........There's lots of things that, during the week(s) if think, 'oh, i must blog that' and always forget. So here is a quick run down....
CJ's T-Ball is cancelled. Very very upset for her. She was loving it. Not enough people paid the $60 by cut off, so they couldn't join the interschool sports competition. She still gets to play it at school. But I was so looking forward to going out on a Friday to where she was playing and watching her! On the upside, she gets automatic entry into a winter sport (soccer or netball) I wanted her to do soccer - she wanted netball - so netball it is! (god help me, she can't even catch a wee ball let alone one that you should be able to catch with your eyes closed!)
Connor - Is very cranky that his mate, Sam, is now playing soccer. Con wants to play too - in Sam's team. I suggested (thanks to Sal) indoor soccer (as it's on weeknights and we might actually be able to fit that in) but, no, he wants Sam there and he wants to play on grass... When he was told that it was on Saturdays when dancing was on, did he want to give up dancing? The answer was 'no, but i still want to play soccer.' Better clone him now I think...
Phones - Note to family/friends/strangers - my mobile (and home phone) are for MY convienience, not everyone elses! I do not have a phone to be at the beck and call of whomever may want to contact me whenever THEY wish to! Leave a msg or send a text if that is the case. I will get back to you! Or, better still - email me! My phone is mostly on silent because I am usually in places where I should not have a phone on my person, ie - working in a class of 30 10year olds, or driving in a car, teaching dancing or in church.
Blogs - I've found a new blog that i really like - http://www.postsecret.blogspot.com/
Billy Elliot - There is a brilliant website called www.friendsofbilly.com and also this wee video that was on Saturday Disney - see the top R corner http://au.tv.yahoo.com/b/saturday-disney Saturday Mornings - Saturday Mornings are hard for me. I have 3 kids to get up and dressed and hair done and fed before 8 O'Clock. We rarely have to do that on a school day, Saturdays are worse. As well as that I need food for an entire day as there are no shops and even if there were we wouldn't be buying from them. I need toys/DS's/ColouringIn packed as well and then their 50 pairs of dancing shoes. Then to make sure Con's journal and music are in the bag for his private. With all this happening before the hour of 8am I dont need the bloody obvious explained to me. On my birthday weekend I knew it would be a hard morning to get them up and ready, after being out at Billy. I knew Darcy would be ferral, and the others not much better. I let them sleep in until 20 to 8 so that they had as much sleep as possible. I did NOT need Dad walking in huffing and puffing that they weren't ready (right on 8am) and saying "I KNEW they'd be like this today' YOU DONT BLOODY SAY!!!!!!!!!!! Im the one doing it - Im their mother - I KNEW TOO! I think I did pretty DAMN WELL getting them out and away in his car by 8.10 thankyou very much. It had to be today that he arrived spot on 8, he's been arriving at 5-10 past the last few weeks - bloody typical
Work - I've been doing a few extra casual days this term - and Im exhausted! lol . Thur and Fri 2 weeks ago I worked with Sal and the Fri before. I must see if she needs me this Fri? Thur she had said included 'a little excursion'. I was thinking 'oh goodie, a trip to Mac Square' or something. Somewhere I can get a coffee! Well, it was somewhere I could get a coffee, and I needed it, let me tell ya! It was Fairfield City Farm!! In 31 deg heat! Man it was a stinker! A good day but boy was I tired after that, then RG. Friday was just work in the unit - but then the big night afterwards. The extra work money is earmarked for Queensland in the April hols.
Car - We nearly bought a car the other day. I saw a great one in the Drive section online. Mark even went and saw it and it looked awesome. But it had no logbooks at all - and it had almost 40k on it. Too risky to buy without log books. We are now looking into Mark leasing one on Salary Sacrifice. Gonna crunch some figures and see what the outcome is. Would be nice to have for Qld. Im a tad scared about taking the wee beast up there and back - not sure we'll make it!
Mark - Mark's foot is alot better, but he's still supposed to be putting the ointment on it and I dont think he is! He has also been a bit 'better' with his depression the past month or so - hopefully it will continue!
Dentist - Con has been at the dentist a few times in the last few weeks, and a few more times coming up. He had the two gappy/rotting teeth at the front bottom fixed and they doing the top ones this Friday. He has been such a good boy in the chair - barely moving (cept when he tries to talk to the dentist whilst she has implements in his mouth!) Ceilidh was like that (About the not moving, not the talking!). She also loved it last week when she came along with me to his appointment. She was so interested she was almost on top of the dentists lap looking at what she was doing! lol
Darcy - Darce has been better these last 2 weeks re preschool and has started on the 'I dont like dancing, I dont want to go to dancing' which really drives me nuts cause all she wants to do is dance, and its all a complete act. So last Sat i told dad to leave her in the car and not to talk to her at all and she'd soon change her mind - and she did. And on the thurs I threatened to leave her with nanna and poppa and not take her (going to the point of pulling up in front of their house) and she changed her mind - BEASTIE
Dog - I mentioned on Sunday that Moggy was here when we got home from C of C. I must talk about that - cause it shocked us so much. Moggy we all thought was stupid! She never comes down to our house, I think in the 5 years we've been here she has been here once, when mum and dad went away - and it was such a drama we didnt do it again. She never goes for walks, so it's not like she can smell Chewy or the way. And Chewy rarely goes for walks - so the opposite can't be right either! So how on earth did she know to be in OUR carport when we got home? We wish we could tell how long she was here for - was it the Friday after we all left? Or was it Saturday or Sunday just before we got home????????? She was very hungry and thirsty when i put her out the back with Chewy. And they both were really good together - almost like they'd been 'together' through the gate for a few hours/days... very strange!! Thank goodness she was here though, she had pushed open the gap in the gate down there!! March 24 Happy Easter!!The Bunny found us in Newcastle!!
CJ thought he hadn't and she was very upset, but she hadn't looked BEHIND the front door at the verandah of our flat. And there were the eggies!! Then, later (before we left for the comp) we all went on an egg hunt cause the bunny must have had a hole in his bag!!! 6 kids running screaming around a tiny patch of green grass at 8.30 in the morning must have made the neighbours OH SO HAPPY!! LOL! YES - HAPPY, HAPPY EASTER!!!
March 23 Too tired to blogWe just got home from newcastle (to find Moggy walking out of our carport!!!! - Moggy being Mum and Dads dog from 20 houses up the road, not our dog, Chewy, in the back yard....)
I completely forgot to blog yesterday. Was all set to blog by phone - but we left for the comp at 6.45am and got home from the comp at 8.30pm and by the time everything was sorted I had not even thought about it.
In fact I didnt remember until part way through today! The kids did soooo well! I am so very very veyr very very very proud of them!!! Not just my beautiful babies but my studio as well!! Everyone cept poor darlin Kirstin (who danced so bloody well, but was in a hugely tough section, and returning from injury) and Aidan, (who was only doing pdbs bcs his 2 sisters were there dancing anyway) got something!
And my wonderful darling Ceilidh and Connor made me SOOOOOOOOOOO PROUD!!!!
Ceilidh had 17 in her section and she came home with a 4th in the lilt yesterday and a 6th in the lilt today (and that was from the USA judge today!) She had her whole new kilt out fit on and she looked SOOOOOOOOOO BEAUTIFUL! That colour looks amazing on her and her hair looked wonderful and she was just gorgeous
Connor Connor Connor - my precious boyo. EVERYONE in the arena knew who he was by the end of yesterday. People came up to me all day today to tell me how beautiful he is, how the couldn't wait until he came onto the stage because he made their day! And HE HAD ON HIS NEW OUTFIT THAT NANNA MADE HIM!! It was all I dreamed of and more and I can't thank my darling MUmmy enough for the AMAZING job she did on it. in 1996 I saw Ross Croll in Scoltand (casey's wee scottish mannie!) wearing this most beautiful Montrose jacket. It wasn't the ugly velvet POOFY things that you usually see as a Montrose. it was made of gabadine, like the Prince Charlie jackets and instead of having a fully on pooncy lacy jabot it just had a little bit of flat lace as the jabot. And it was tight tight tight on him, almost like a leotard.
When Con started dancing I said to mum that I really wanted that for him. And mum rose to the occasion. She made, without a pattern the most perfect jacket for him to wear with his new kilt. And we got a beret (from UK EBAY) that mum knitted the dicing on. MUM MUM YOU ARE SO CLEVER!!
The final outcome was amazing. He looked gorgeous!! He thinks he is Captain Jack Sparrow in it!! lol lol lol!
Plus, all weekend he danced well. TODAY especially he danced fantastically. Tried so very very hard today and got TWO SECONDS TODAY!!! He had so many in his section. It was just 4&5 years and there were about 18 in it. He got 2nd in the Fling and 2nd in the Pdbs and Hcuts. Yesterday he got 3rd in the fling and 6th in the pdbs. He mucked up his swords both days. His pdbs today were beautiful but he was trying so very hard to make the neat and tight and turned out that he got behind the music and only ended up doing 15 - and there were too many good ones in the section for the judge to blink at that.
I had spoken to him about stepping backwards to let the girls walk off first and of course, the wee tiny girls didnt know why he was stepping backwards so they're just standing there. So picture this... Con's head going 'jerk jerk' as he motions for them to walk in front. They don't. So he points his foot to the side and sweeps it across, as if to say 'go that-a-way' - they don't. So he looks at them frustrated and motions with his arms and says in a stage whisper 'YOU GO OFF FIRST!'. The crowd erupted in laughter and applause. Much to his disgust. He came off and said 'they all laughed at me for doing that' I said 'no, they were laughing at the girls for not knowing to walk off before you, what a gentleman you were!'
I will put up some gorgeous shots of the kids. Tomorrow I will blog more wonderful photos from the Easter Bunny this morning. We went egg hunting with the Bilotta's and Wow! What finds they made!!!!
Oh - and Darling BRODIE got 7th in her Beginners Title today!!! WITH 24 in her section!!!! 24 SEVEN YEAR OLDS!! WOWOWOWOWOW!! Good girl!!!!
March 21 Easter Hat ParadeMarch 20 Customer Service Officer??? HMmmmmmYesterday i went to Kmart to look at the high school musical digi camera they had in the catalogue. My friend was waiting there to meet me. We were pondering over it and I asked the sales assistant if I could look at it. She got it out and handed it to me.
I asked 'how many megapixels is it?' She said 'Its only just 1, its not worth the money, for the same amount you can get one of these cameras that have 5mpx and zoom.' And it wasn't what she said, it was the way that she said it. She was really abrupt and rude about it.
I said to her 'yes I know that, but it's for my daughter's 9th birthday and she is a mad HSM fan so it's worth it' The woman's response was along the lines of 'no it's not' I looked at her, looked at my friend and took a deep breath and explained that she loved to borrow my camera and she really just wanted something to snap. That I was going to buy the Fisher Price one for Xmas but this was so much better because it was HSM. (all the time Im thinking 'why am I justifying myself to a sales assistant!'
I then saw that there was a 'girlfriend' pink camera that had 5mpx and asked about how much that was.
Her response was 'LIKE I SAID BEFORE, those cameras (pointing to the other ones) are much better for less. If you know ANYTHING about cameras you will know that digital zoom is no good for anything' Again, I looked at her and took a deep breath. I said 'Yes, i realise that, but those cameras (pointing) are silver and this one is pink. She is a girl and she is NINE so it makes a big difference'
Her response was 'Well she has to learn to take what she is given!' OMG - I WAS SOOOOOOOOOOOO LIVID!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I looked at her and said 'Do you have a nine year old daughter? ITS HER BIRTHDAY!!!!'
I was ready to absolutely lose it with her and Mandy could see that, so she tried to divert the conversation. She asked in her bright chirpy voice 'oh look, HSM SD Memory Cards, how much are they?'
The woman's response was 'Well, you won't need THAT with THAT camera because it doesn't TAKE a memory card.'
At this point in time I really should have yelled, but because Mandy was with me I refrained!
Mandy could tell I was going to yell so she said 'Cmon Justine we'll go up and see what Target have got, they're 15% off today.' I walked away SEETHING and shaking with anger! A few mintues later I was speaking to Peta on the phone and I told her of the convo. She was an angry as me. She said 'Go and see the manager!'
I hadn't calmed down, so I thought 'yes I will.' And I did. The manager was really lovely.
She was very apologetic, but also very upset for the staff member. She said to us 'I have been making alot of excuses for L, she is going through a very tough time at home and is more often in tears than dry at work. She is having alot of trouble with her teenager (which explains the comment she gave me about taking what they are given!) but that is no excuse to speak to you the way she did.' I said 'no, it isn't, that I was very upset at being told how and what to get for my child, that she was MY child.' and that I really wanted the camera but I didnt want to go back to her.
So she got another staff member to get it for me. The camera cost $79.
To put it into perspective. I also bought Connor's birthday present. A $79 Ben10 laboratory. As I went through the checkout I thought to myself ' I bought a toy for Connor and I bought a toy for Ceilidh. She doesn't play with dolls so why can't she play with a camera' It justified it to myself anyway! And it is a VERY cool camera! BUT - Ive just looked at the kmart catalogue starting tomorrow and they have that girlfriend camera for $79 this week - so I dont know what to do!! Argghh! March 19 ANGER AT NEWS ARTICLELast week dad sms'd me to say 'look at page 24 of the Daily Telegraph, there's RG boys on the photo, in the main studio'. In excitement I found a paper at work and WOW - there was this great big photo of some RG boys doing 'Billy Elliot' kicks. Underneath it said something like 'Boys from RGDANCE at Chiswick train to be Billy Elliot' or along those lines.
I then excitedly scanned the article - and the more I read, the angrier I got!!! It had nothing to do with the photo, it had NOTHING positive to do with dance and drama at all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!http://www.news.com.au/story/0,23599,23358782-5007146,00.html Here is the article and my response below.... IT is interesting to note that 5116 NSW students last year studied drama as an HSC subject – twice as many as a decade ago. There were also more than 700 HSC dance enrolments in 2007, triple the number of 1995.
Talent agencies, dance studios and drama classes are springing up all over Sydney at an unprecedented rate, with the highly regarded NIDA and long-established Australian Theatre for Young People (ATYP) about to substantially increase the number of their short courses and school holiday workshops such is the demand for acting classes. Even in this celebrity era, the influx reveals an extraordinary desire for fame. But does it also reveal an amazing level of naivety on behalf of not only these aspiring youngsters, but parents too? How many of last year's 5000 HSC drama students will go on to be household names or, at best, have a career in the arts world successful enough to pay the bills? After all, for every Nicole Kidman or Russell Crowe there are many, many more "actors" waiting tables. Even among those who reach the apparent pinnacle of stardom there can also be a high toll, with Britney Spears and Heath Ledger recent examples. Yet youngsters continue to strive to be the next big thing, perhaps in a belief fostered by the likes of TV programs such as Australian Idol and So You Think You Can Dance. Add to this the number of private schools seemingly outbuilding one another with state-of-the-art facilities such as cinemas, performing arts centres and video-editing suites plus government high schools dedicated to performing arts. While I applaud teenagers choosing to spend holidays and weekends pursuing something other than loitering in shopping centres or spraying graffiti on trains, I also can't help but wonder if they all have real talent and appeal or are simply delusional in their aspirations? How often have you been bored by parents espousing how their child is destined for the stage or screen when in fact they can't hold a tune, they dance as though they have two left feet and realistically has more chance of becoming a lesbian than a thespian? But apparently, to point this out is rude. Instead, I believe you and I would be far better off cashing in on it like a host of others are currently doing. Take Nikki Webster, who rose to fame as the star of the Sydney Olympics opening ceremony, and will shortly open a dance studio. Not even the delay in its opening (due to legal issues) has deterred wannabe pop-dancing princesses who ring daily wanting to know when classes start. Meanwhile, well-known actor Peter Phelps has been blown away by the numbers of youngsters requesting he run more of his evening classes on the Northern Beaches, saying even he has been surprised by the huge market for it. Of course, with all this demand has come profitability. For instance, Elle Macpherson's brother Ben is fast expanding his child talent company to meet the need. In recent months his ASX-listed talent agency Artists & Entertainment Group (AEG,) which comprises the talent agency Brightstars, has acquired Sydney's Brent Street theatre and dance school and is looking to expand nationally. Brent Street generates more than $3000 per year on average in revenue per member student. It currently has about 1000 member students. On a much grander scale is the ATYP, which has more than 6000 youngsters participating in its programs across Australia each year and has increased itsworkshops. Artistic director Timothy Jones attributes the increase to the rise in popularity of drama as a subject at school and television talent quests. Likewise Mark Gaal, NIDA's open program artistic associate, says: "We've noticed a considerable increase in demand. In the past 12 months 15,000 people enrolled across Australia in our short-course programs, that is easily several thousand more than just five years ago." Mind you, NIDA'S full-time acting course intake remains -- for several reasons not least funding -- at just 24 actors from across Australia each year. It makes you wonder how many of the 5000-plus HSC Drama students will apply next year, only to be disappointed? I have been lurking on a Billy Elliot fan site for a little while now, and posting occasionally. They logged the article (because it has a photo of Nick (Billy) in it) and were talking about how rude and ridiculous the author was. As one poster summed up 'I don't join a science club because I want to be Einstein!'. I too was livid and decided to 'speak my mind' regarding the drop kick reporter. This is what I wrote on the forum (and thankfully I got lots of great replys)...................
They show a great photo of male dancers 'doing their stuff' and then stick in an article that tells us that all us parents are wearing rose coloured glasses and why do we spend so much time/money on having the kids do drama/arts when only a fraction will ever be professionals. I will tell you why I spend THOUSANDS (and I am not exaggerating) each term on having my three children dance. I do it because I know where they are, I know they are safe and not roaming the streets, I know they are developing self confidence in themselves and in performing in front of others. I know they are learning to feel comfortable about their bodies and their minds. They are learning about setting goals and achieving them. Learning about having a fit and healthy body. They are learning musicality and how to listen to instructions and follow rules, They are making friendships that last their entire lives (and Im speaking from first hand experience here). And, most of all - THEY ARE DOING SOMETHING THEY LOVE!!!!!! They are learing that dancing is the fun and joy of life!!! My son is almost 6. He does not STOP dancing or cartwheeling where ever we go! I travel across Sydney to take him to a school that has a large male enrolment so that he continues doing what he loves - in an environment and atmosphere that he feels comfortable in. The other day he was very naughty when I picked him up from school. He whacked his 3 year old sister across the face. I got cranky (obviously) and told him he was staying with Nanna and Poppa that day whilst I took his sisters to dancing, that he was not coming if he couldn't behave. He WAILED and SOBBED that he wanted to go to dancing 'I need to go Mummy, Im so sorry Mummy, I want to go to dancing Mummy, Please Mummy!' He dances 5 out of 7 days a week - because HE WANTS TO! So this bloody author - read THIS and see that my Boyo may never be a professional dancer, may never WANT to be a professional dancer - but he WANTS to dance! And the good it is doing him far outweighs the extra job I need to pay for it all!!!! March 18 Darcy Blog - stolen from LeanneLeanne wrote a lovely blog the other day about the games that Darcy and Noah were playing when Dee was there being looked after Wednesday.
Darcy loves Noah - one of the biggest reasons she loves him is that she can boss him around! Everyone else bosses D around, as I blogged the other day, she doesn't want to be the baby any more! So Noah she can boss (as she can with Marcus, mums friends little boy who is actually 6months older than D, but boy does D henpeck HIM!)
Anyway - here is the pure plagerism from Leanne's blog - Why re-write it when she did it so well!!! Darcy and Noah have made a club house and are being so beautiful. They are playings mums and dads and Noah is being the baby. Darcy has made him stay in the entry way until she has made his bed. (neglect! I'm ringing docs). He keeps coming in the loungeroom to check and she keeps telling him, not yet. He says 'ok I'm going back'. Now she has asked him for some help fixing the bed. She is telling him to help where her right hand is, not her left. He knows he has a left and right arm but has no idea which is what! The sheet is covering them so I can't see. I am having so much fun listening them I have relaxed the no toys in the loungeroom rule and let them build in here. Oh now she is in her element. They are playing ballet teachers! Guess which is the teacher and which is the student!
Darcy had gotten Noah's lovely hand made (not by machine either!) patchwork cot quilt and had very carefully put it on the loungeroom floor. She made Noah stand on one side and she was on the other. They were in first position. In a strong voice, she tells Noah to move over there, you are in the wrong place. Then she scoffs because he wrinkled to edge of the stage! She tells him to stay in first postition. "I am going to show you how to do 'dammit plies'!"
For the non ballet people who read this blog, she really means Demi plies. Demi means half and plie means to bend. So it is a half bend. Most ballet steps start or end with a demi plie. (see photo of Noah on his 2nd day of ballet). March 17 Justine the Sports Fanatic - LOL LOL LOLHahahahahahahahahahaha - Guess where I went Sunday!!!!
Not only did I go to the cricket!!!!!! YES - YOU READ CORRECTLY - THE CRICKET!!! (the last time I was at the cricket i was being paid to work there!)
But we then went across to the Tigers V Dragons Footy match - and then back to the cricket!!!
We had a really good time. It was a gorgeous day and the kids were beautifully behaved.
PLUS IT DIDNT COST US A CENT (lie - it cost $4.50 for a bucket of chips to put on the buttered bread that i brought from home) as it was all free with Mark's SCG Members Cards!!! So first in the photos we have SCG then SFS then back to SCG!
Oh - and being the avid sports fan I am - I forgot to tell you who won! Tigers won the footy - yeah! and NSW was back in to bat for the cricket (but that is on for the next 3 days as well - its the finals of the Sheffield Shield - Pura Cup)
BTW - Darcy stayed home with Nanna and Poppa. We realised afterwards we probably could have taken her, you probably dont have to pay for 3 year olds anyway, but whether that still works with Members Cards we're not sure. So Mark is going to email them and find out. It was alot less stressful without 'The D' though.
Connor and Ceilidh with the cricketers behind them.....
Con looking back at us after he checked out the teams, they loved the binoculars!
CJ thinking she is funny!
At the Tigers game - CJ didnt like being up so high!! We were up in the gods!
As you can see - they take after their mother! Very interested in the game! lol
CJ got a bit gamer as the game went on - and let go of the side!
Connor pretending to be tough like a footy player!!
Cj was just getting involved when it was finishing time!!
Back at the cricket! CJ showing off her high heel boots!!! March 16 Easter Egg HuntingLast night was the annual preschool easter egg hunt. Yet again it was a marvelous event!!
We had been at Connor's eisteddfod at Ingleburn for the arvo (he came 3rd) and we stayed there (CJ got dropped off by a dancing friend who lives in Camden) until it was time to go to Bradbury.
Dee wore her LOVELY butterfly outfit! She was a princess! LOL (Thanks for that Leanne!)
Playing with us there were Lorraine and Matt with their 3 boys (Con was in HEAVEN!)
Tina with her 2 girls
and we brought Kaiesha along with us so she didnt have to stay at the eisteddfod all night (Leilani was on in the evening - she got 3rd in her jazz)
Here are some pix - oh and the big chocies that Ceilidh is holding - thats one of the raffle prizes! woohoo!
March 15 Busy Bday!Well my birthday was very very busy! And at 12.10am I am really exhausted, which is not good as I have an equally busy Saturday ahead of me!
I worked today with Sally at RTHS. It's certainly not hard work, but it is still work! So was up and out of the house by 7.45. The kids gave me their gorgeous presents. I got some bathbombs from Darcy, an acrylic light up wine glass froM Connor and a shower radio, a beautiful bookmark card from Ceilidh and a lovely candle holder. Plus I got a NEW CAMERA!! (see photos below), 2 blocks of chocolate and dinner and tix for Billy Elliot tonight from Mark!!
I also got to open Casey's pressie which was the Grey's Anatomy soundtrack - oh yeah!!! It was the birthday of music/movies. From Sally I got Hair on DVD and from Peetie I got 20cds of the Musicals -(and Blood Brothers is on there somewhere!) Plus Peta gave me a beautiful formal outfit which I can't wait to wear! (and she had already bought me my birthday pressie when we were in Melbourne - SK11 facial stuff - naughty girl!)
Mum and Dad gave a blitzen hacker and $100 to go towards my NEW CAMERA!! Beau gave me $30 and a Breville Juicer and Nanna Jo gave me $5 and some towels. So I am a VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY lucky girl!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
After work we went to Carolyns and then straight into town to meet Peetie and Mark and had dinner at Paddy McGuires, next to the Capital. Beau came in and picked up DEE and took her home to her place. Peta said good bye and the 4 of us left went and saw Nick play Billy!
It was great, he was great (but I still think my favourite was Rhys). Connor fell asleep in the last half hour (go the $112!! *sigh*) so he was a bit sad/scared when meeting the cast at the end. He got Nick's autograph and told him he was an RG boy, but he wouldnt get a photo. He did get a photo with Joshua - the adult male ballet man. He was so lovely to Con, asked him all about his ballet (of which Con answered in monosyllables *sigh*) at least Con went up to them - CJ wouldn't she plastered herself against the wall and woudln't move! So home then and straight to bed for the 3 of them> They all have dancing at 9am, and CJ is staying there all day and coming home with a friend. Whilst Con has an eisteddfod at Ingleburn HS tomorrow at 2pm. I hope he is ok - he is barking dreadfully and nose is running like a tap.
I have to go get all the dancing and food stuff for tomorrow ready. Oh and the stuff for AFTER the eisteddfod - Bradbury PReschools Easter Egg Hunt! See - another big day!!
March 14 Who Is This Little Bundle Of Joy????Well - she is turning 36 today!!!!!!!!!!!!
OH MY! What an old fart she is now??!!!! She's only 2 in this photo - time flys - How did that happen?
![]() March 13 100% Boy?I got a message from my friend Lorraine the other day. She had Connor sleep over in the last holidays.
Oh and I've been meaning to tell you about when Connor stayed over -
we have the boys in bunk beds and then the spare bed on the other side of the room. Neither of my two have ever attempted any acrobatics but before Con arrived I thought to myself, "I bet he jumps from the top bunk onto the spare bed." And sure enough he did! I had to put a stop to it. No harm done to the furniture of course, I was just a bit worried he'd miss the bed and hit something he shouldn't. Con is 100% boy isn't he? I think he is part XMan actually! (well, maybe just part Hugh Jackman - can sing, dance and leap from tall buildings. Hmmm - will make some girl happy one day!)
March 12 The Hatpin.
Tuesday evening was a trip to the the-aatre for Daddy's birthday present (from January). Joining Daddy and I were Mummy and Sally. Dad and I caught the train in from Cabra (where Mark dropped us, he did the dancing run). Dad wanted to get off at Ashfield, change to Newtown and walk from there. I wanted to get off at Redfern and walk from there. I showed him on my phone navigator that it was 1km shorter from Redfern, so we went there instead (after dad's mild panic attack that our tix were only to Newtown...)
We get off and Dee-fa says 'we should turn left then right and that should take us to Cleveland St. he was right, except turning right there would have led us into Eveleigh St - and Im not sure we would have made it to Cleveland, so we walked on, a lovely wee walk with all the uni students and arrived at the Seymour Centre at the same time as Sal. Mum arrived 20mins later at the end of her German class.
The Hatpin is a show put on by Kookaburra Production. Sal and I are going to join their mailing list and are probably going to get season tickets to their shows. They are Australian's OWN musical theatre group. You may join us friends, let us know if you are interested (this was one of Sal and my New Years Resolutions, to see more theatre, like we used to when we were young and fancy free).
The Hatpin is a new Australian musical drama set in the Australian winter of 1892. It is the true story of Amber Murray, a single mother who advertised her baby in a newspaper-trading column in the hope of saving his life...and ended up embroiled in one of the most captivating, moving and exciting criminal trials in Australian history
We enjoyed it alot, it was very dark and scary and to be the young mother in the show would be so draining.
Here are Sally and I (and Mums bum)
March 11 Be careful if you go to Dubai!!!!
Fair Trials International released this information on the 20th of February 2008… UAE has a very strict, zero-tolerance anti-drugs policy. If you can get by without medication, it is safest to leave it at home if you are travelling to or through UAE. While many other countries also apply controls to the following drugs, UAE is unusual in conducting extremely thorough searches of many travellers through its airports, with highly sensitive equipment. If you must take medication, make sure:
