    EARTH HOUR

thanks for committing to Earth Hour!

Don't forget to add it to your diary:  Saturday 31 March 2007, 7:30pm-8:30pm

For Earth Hour to have a big impact, as many people as possible need to take part. So if you haven't already done so, please help us spread the word about Earth Hour by telling your friends, family and workmates.

And don't forget to show your support by putting a banner on your weblog, Myspace profile or other website. Check out the downloads page for banners, e-cards, posters and more.

In addition to turning off your lights on the night, you might want to take part in or organise an event to celebrate Earth Hour.

And don't forget to keep saving energy after Earth Hour - there are many things we can do every day to save energy and reduce greenhouse gas pollution.

    I is siiiiiick

Feel sorry for me. I am sick.
Con was sick yesterday, complaining of bad tummy aches and he would curl up in pain then stretch out.
I got the same thing last night.

He is much better now, still a bit sore he said but not alot (I kept him home - 2nd day off of kindy)

Me, they let me stay in bed until midday! They came and visited me alot, but on the whole they were very good. You can imagine the state of the house though!!

Mark got cj off to school by himself!LOL! But I did tell her she could have lunch order, even tho we can't afford it! Was easier than trusting him to make the lunch! lol!

So she is having chippies today - and looking at the weather outside, she will be glad of it!!

I have to drive to Chiswick in 2.5 hours, hope Im feeling a bit better by then.

Oh - and I have TWO HUGE coldsores on my top lip.

    BlarrrhhhhhH!

Thank Goodness We Sent Him To School This Year

Connor is thriving at school. It was such SUCH a tough decision to send him, and even at the start of the year I was still unsure as to whether it was the right thing.

Anyway, over the weekend I rarely saw Boy and Monday I had to work, so didnt get to take him to school and stay up there for reading, like normal.

So Monday arvo, after school he came inside with a dandilion for me, and I hooked it through my locket.

Then during dancing he came out and gave me a letter he had written. It as very cute and I assumed that Ceilidh must have helped him. I asked her when she came out 'no' she said. Then when Mark came out an hr later I asked him 'did you write this down for Connor to copy from?' 'NO!! He wrote it all himself, he just asked me how to spell 'love' and 'you'!!'

    OH MY GAWD!!!!!!!!!

My darling boy - how clever is he! It's only Week 9, Term 1 of Kindy!!!

    March 27

    Hughy is here...........

Read in the paper yesterday that Hughy is here for 6 months, filming.  Sally and I have decided we will 'visit' him and tell Deb to take the kids out for a nice play while we look after Hughy.....................

    My Clever chooky

Danced at Bathurst today and got 2 3rds! good girl! There were 15 in the section!!!!

Sarah did well, won everything except 2 dances (and got 2nd in one of those)

Catherine (my older beginner) did her 2nd comp ever and got prizes in most dances.

And Miss Brodie did her first ever Fling in a competition and got 3rd! And got 3rd in her other 2 dances as well!!

    Clever girls!!!!

    Joy OH Joy

WEll I worked 17 hours Saturday - earnt about $13 an hour if I was lucky (and Peet got less than me!).
    Joy oh joy

And i was enquiries officer, so had to deal with the 'problem people'. Im gonna write to the electrol office and tell them that those big ballot papers took us FIVE HOURS to sort and count, and the wee ones took us 80mins - big difference!

    big long annoying Joy

Then Mark turns up, in the middle of counting, with 2 kids in tow - Dee had split her chin open and he was taking her down to the hospital. He had to leave the other 2 with me. They were very good, in the kitchen, cept Con spewed everywhere -twice. THen fell asleep on chair. THen mum arrived and picked them up.
Mark got Brodie on way home from hospital (after darce got 2 stitiches).

    Joy

I walked home to mum and dads in the rain (loved every second of it) at 11.10pm.

    Big joyful joy

Picked up kids and mums car. Came home, 2 girls asleep> CJ got into her clothes for tomorrow, went to bed. Con chucked massive chuck again, went to bed.
    Smelly Joy

I started to get stuff ready for Bathurst today> Cjs blouse needs washing - is in wash now. Waiting for it - then bed.

    Dirty Joy

Thankfully clocks go back one hour - so it's not really 1am, its just midnight.
    Time of Joy

Sarah will be here at 6am.

    Not good time of joy

    3 hour drive to Bathurst.

    Long time of Joy

Mark has sick kids at home 2mrw.

    Joy oh joy.

Must go and finish making lunches, have no money to buy anything tomorrow

Hungry joy (hope I dont owe anyone money???)
    March 23

    bloody men

I asked him to have 3 things done when i got home from dancing.

    THREE THINGS....

    Dishwasher unpacked and repacked

    Clothes off the line

    Kitchen bench cleaned off

(The MIL is staying o/n tonight so that is the reason for the quick clean)

I msged him as we left dancing, just in case he hadn't started them yet.

We get in the door he's asleep on the lounge.

I ask 'exactly what have you done?'

    Sheepish look at me...........

    "Nothing!"

3 hours - to do NOTHING.

    Minus 5 Bar

On Friday Night Mark and I went into the city for a birthday celebration for me.

He had invited friends, but none of them could come, so just he and I ended up going.

It was really lovely. We went in after CJ had finished dancing, Dad watched the kids whilst Mum was out at a trivia night.

We got into the city at 8.15 and went to this IceBar. Everything is made of ice - EVERYTHING! Even the glasses! I, ate my glass!!! Many of you would not be surprised by that lol!!
After that we went downstairs to the Lenin Bar and had some dinner and a vodka cocktail. We then went for a walk over to the Museum of Contemporary Art and sat for a while, then back to the bike, and home.

Picking up the kids at about 12ish.

It was a lovely night out - here is a photo of us in the icebar!!!

    Funny Boys!

Connor has made the finals of the dance troupe at school. I said to the teacher 'glad the money is good for something!'

I am very proud and have been telling everyone.

I was telling Sally all about it at dancing Saturday, Sam was standing in front of me. I then said 'I thought they were gonna say he tried out for the soccer team, he is always playing soccer with the big boys at lunch time.'

Sam pipes up with 'I don't play with them, I run away from the ball so it doesn't hit me!!'

    Well - I laughed so hard, I couldn't stop!!

Darling Sam - that is so very YOU!!! lol! Such a physical sporty fella!!!

(In his defence, he was knocked over by a big kid chasing a ball the other week and ended up with grazed knees!)

    The Coathangers Birthday!!

THIS IS WHAT WE HAVE TO SAY ABOUT OUR DAY OUT TO THE CITY TODAY AS WE WALKED OVER THE BRIDGE.............

DARCY - WE WENT ON THE TRAIN,THEN WE WENT 2 THE PARK & PLAYED THERE.WE WALKED OVER THE HARBOUR BRIDGE.I LIED DOWN ON THE ROAD.MY TEDDY WALKED WITH ME.

CEILIDH - WE WENT 2 WALK ON THE HARBOUR BRIDGE. LEANNE,BRODIE,JACOB,NOAH,MUMMY,DADDY,CONNOR & DARCY & SALLYS FAMILY CAME AS WELL. IT WAS CELEBRATING THE HARBOUR BRIDGE BIRTHDAY BECAUSE IT WAS TURNING 75! WALKING ON THE BRIDGE WAS FUN BECAUSE ITS BEEN HELD UP FOR 75 YEARS!! WHEN WE GOT 2 THE MIDDLE OF THE BRIDGE THERE WERE PEOPLE STANDING RIGHT UP THE TOP & THEY WERE WAVING, I WAVED BACK 2 THEM.

CONNOR-I WENT TO THE HARBOUR BRIDGE TO HAVE A PICNIC AND GO ON A WALK ON THE HARBOUR BRIDGE.THERE WERE ONLY PEOPLE ON THE BRIDGE. WE L0OKED IN THE CRACKS THAT WENT DOWN TO THE WATER! WE WALKED TO THE PLAYGROUND AT DARLING HARBOUR WITH BRODIE,NOAH & JACOB & CEILIDH & DARCY.

DADDY- I GOT WOKEN UP 15 TIMES BY THE KIDS THIS MORNING, JUMPING ON ME, TO ASK WHEN WERE WE LEAVING TO WALK OVER THE BRIDGE. JUSTINE GOT BACK FROM HER MEETING AND WE DROVE IN (AGAINST RTA SUGGESTIONS! & PARKED RIGHT NEAR TOWN HALL-IT WAS GREAT!!) WE CAUGHT THE TRAIN OVER TO MILSONS POINT, WHICH THE KIDS ENJOYED.WE HAD  A WEE PICNIC.IT WAS FUN  TO KEEP TWO GIRLS IN WHITE DRESSES CLEAN IN A MUDDY PARK! WE MET UP WITH PEOPLE & WALKED ACROSS .IT WAS GOOD 2 WALK DOWN THE MIDDLE OF THE LANES WHERE I USUALLY RACE DOWN! GREAT DAY, BUT REALLY NEEDED OUR STARBUCKS COFFEE WHEN WE ARRIVED AT DARLING HARBOUR!

JUSTINE -I HAVE BEEN LOOKING FORWARD TO THIS BRIDGE WALK SINCE I 1ST HEARD ABOUT IT.I WENT STRAIGHT TO THE INTERNET & REGISTERED US TO GO.

25 YEARS AGO NANNA JOSEPHINE TOOK PETA & I ACROSS THE BRIDGE FOR ITS 50TH BIRTHDAY,THERE WAS NO WAY I WAS MISSING DOING IT WITH MY FAMILY! WHAT MADE IT EVEN MORE SPECIAL WAS THAT MY FRIENDS WERE WITH US TOO.LEANNE & THE KIDS & SALLY & HER GIRLS (& JR 2!).

THEY HAD A FANTSICALLY ORGANISED SETUP-WHICH WAS A BIG SURPRISE.ONLY BUGGER WAS THAT THEY RAN OUT OF HATS-BUT I'M WRITING 2 THEM ABOUT THAT! WE SAW A SQUADRON OF F18S FLY OVER AND THEN, WHEN WE WERE WALKING ACROSS,  A HUGE QANTAS JUMBO FLEW OVER - TWICE! IT WAS TOTALLY AMAZING STUFF! PEOPLE WERE SO FRIENDLY & NOONE GOT CRANKY WHEN U STOPPED SUDDENLY TO TAKE A PHOTO.

THE KIDS HAD A LOVELY TIME AND IT WASN’T SO PACKED AS TO GET STRESSED ABOUT THEM DISAPEARING INTO THE CROWD, SO THAT MADE IT A BIT MORE RELAXING!! I GOT QUITE EMOTIONAL AT ONE POINT. THEY HAD BIG SPEAKERS SET UP THAT WERE BROADCASTING ABC RADIO ITEMS FROM OVER THE PAST 75 YEARS, THEY DID THE ONE FROM THE DAY THE BRIDGE OPENED AND IT WAS SUREAL ACTUALLY WALKING ACROSS IT 75 YEARS LATER!!

I TOLD CEILIDH, WHEN WE WERE ON THE TRAIN FROM TOWN HALL TO MILSONS POINT, THAT THIS WAS A VERY SPECIAL OCCASION AND THAT IN 25 YEARS TIME SHE WOULD BE ABLE TO WALK OVER WITH HER CHILDREN ON THE 100 YEAR ANNIVERSARY! AND THAT THEIR NANNA WOULD COME TOO!!

I TOOK 138 PHOTOS – I OBVIOUSLY CAN’T BLOG THEM ALL!! LOL! I DON’T KNOW HOW I WILL CHOOSE WHICH ONES TO PUT UP! Ok, Ive uploaded all of them - but have enlarged only a few!

IT WAS A REALLY WONDERFUL DAY, MORE SO BECAUSE YOU COULD SEE HOW SPECIAL IT WAS TO THE CHILDREN, AND TO THE CROWD IN GENERAL. I AM SO PROUD AND PLEASED TO HAVE BEEN A PART OF HISTORY!!!!!!!!

We are  being the harbour bridge......

Medicine Naming! This is too funny

In Pharmacology, all drugs have two names, a trade name and generic name.
For example, the trade name of Tylenol also has a generic name of
Acetaminophen. Aleve is also called Naproxen. Amoxil is also called
Amoxicillin and Advil is also called Ibuprofen.

The FDA has been looking for a generic name for Viagra. After
careful consideration by a team of government experts, it
recently announced that it has settled on the generic name of
Mycoxafloppin. Also considered were Mycoxafailin, Mydixadrupin,
Mydixarizin, Dixafix, and of course, Ibepokin.

Pfizer Corp. announced today that Viagra will soon be available
in liquid form, and will be marketed by Pepsi Cola as a power
beverage suitable for use as a mixer. It will now be possible
for a man to literally pour himself a stiff one. Obviously we
can no longer call this a soft drink, and it gives new meaning
to the names of "cocktails", "highballs" and just a good
old-fashioned "stiff drink". Pepsi will market the new
concoction by the name of: MOUNT & DO.

Thought for the day: There is more money being spent on breast
implants and Viagra today than on Alzheimer's research. This
means that by 2040, there should be a large elderly population
with perky boobs and huge erections and absolutely no
recollection of what to do with them.

If you don't send this to five old friends right away there will
be five fewer people laughing in the world.

Ceilidh is VERY excited about the PICTURE 10 Commandments....

On the way to dancing yesterday afternoon CJ says to me 'Mummy, you know the 10 Commandments (mummy thinks - well no I dont, but anyway!) Well, I know the picture ones of these'.

I said 'Do you really, what are they?' Expecting her to say the first one is Moses showing something or other blah blah blah.

BUt no - she goes on to say..... (and actually it is damn clever and a very very good way of remembering them)

"OK mummy, its hard to explain to you cause I can't draw it, but this is them...' (and it was actually funnier with her trying to explain to me - so I shall do the same here, althought I may have to save this as a draft and get  back to it when she gets home from school!''

    1. The number one as in the numeral  (God is number One!)

    2. Is turned into a swan (don't worship false idols)

    3. Turn the number 3 upside down, like an m (Do not Missuse the name of the Lord)

    4. The number 4 is the sail on the boat (Keep the Sabbath Day holy)

    5. THe number with a baby in the round bit (like a pregnant woman) (Honour your father and mother)

    6. Turned into a hangmans rope (do not Murder)

    7. Turn the 7 upside down and write 'ove' after it 'Love' (Do not commit adultery - which CJ tells me is when adults get married again, make another partner after your married)

    8. Turn the 8 on its side to make a burglars mask (do not steal)

    9. Put a fishing rod attached to it (thou shalt not lie) And CJ explained to me how when people go fishing they say 'I caught a fish this big and really it was little!!'

    10. Turn the 1 into a pitchfork and the 0 into a plate of food. (do not covert thy neighbours goods)

YEp - definately needed CJs help here!!!!!!

    Astrology.com: Daily Tarot

The Ten of Swords card suggests that my power today lies in acceptance. It's over and done in no uncertain terms. I recognize, surrender to or accept the finality of the truth or consequences in order to look to the future or have "changed my mind." I let go of all attachment or resistance to sustaining conditions that don't work or are out of my hands. E tu brute? I can't move forward by beating a dead horse. It's the last word so put a period on it and move on. I am empowered by truth and consequences and my virtue is liberation or release from suffering, uncertainty or victimhood.

YOU MIGHT BE A TEACHER IF...

You want to slap the next person who says "It must be nice to have all those holidays!"

You can tell it's a full moon without looking outside.

When out in public, you feel the urge to talk to strange children and correct their behaviour.

You can 'hold on' until after lunchtime playground duty.

You can go to the loo, take a phone call, have a conference with colleague, tend to first aid and have a cup of coffee in 20 minutes.

You check for spelling and punctuation errors in every piece of writing you see.

You walk around shopping centres wearing face paint, stickers and a daisy >chain, and don't even notice the stares.

You look 50 before you are 30. You can't pick a name for your unborn child as every name reminds you of a student.

When you can't get your friends to listen to you, you put your hands on your head.

You rate the educational value of cartoons.
You count you life in periods of ten weeks (depending on term length).
You can sing all of the words to Advance Australia Fair (even the 2nd verse!)

You can't go anywhere withoutthinking 'what a great place for an excursion!'

You cringe at the way bank tellers grip their pens.

You don't know the date, but you know it is day 5, week 4, term 4.

You believe the staffroom should have a Valium salt lick.

You believe 'shallow gene pool' should have its own box on the new reports.

You believe that unspeakable evil will befall if someone says "Gee the kids sure are mellow today."

Meeting a child's parents instantly answer 'why is this child like this?'

You believe in the aerial spraying of Prozac.

You get a warm inner glow when just one child says "thank you forhelping me."
