    Remembering My Angel, Rowan

    Dearest Mummy

When you wonder the meaning of life and love

Know that I am with you

Close your eyes and feel me kissing you

In the gentle breeze across your cheek

When you begin to doubt that you shall ever see me again

Quiet your mind and hear me

I am in the whisper of the heavens

    Speaking of your love

    When you lose your identity

When you question who you are and where you are going

Open your heart and see me

I am the twinkle in the stars smiling down upon you

Lighting the path for your journey

When you awaken each morning not remembering your dreams

     But feeling content and serene

Know that I was with you

Filling your nights with thoughts of me

When you linger in the remnant pain

     Wholeness seeming so unfamiliar

     Think of me

Know that I am with you

Touching you through shared tears of a gentle friend

     Easing the pain

As the sunrise illuminates the desert sky

In that breathtaking brilliance, awaken your spirit

Think of our time together, all too brief, but ever brilliant

When you were certain of us together

When you were certain of your destiny

Know that God created that moment in time

     Just for us

    I am with you always.

    Friday Friendships

Friday I had a really lovely day.

Met up with an old school friend and we had coffee and chatted about life in general. We have been trying to met up for nigh on 6 months - finally achieved it!!

Then, joined friends from my mums group for lunch. That was great and we decided we need to do it more often. Although I think we should be doing the netball together instead of the eating!!! LOL!!!

Anyway, I got an email from my school friend and it made me laugh. Not the email itself (it was a Novena) but to whom she sent it....

On the list was me, another girl(well2 actually) that we went to school with, and another friend of hers. (plus many more). The funny bit is that the other girl she went to school with that is on there, went out with the Boy who broke my heart when I was 17, and the other friend of hers on the list is the 'boy who broke my heart's wife'! LOL!!!!!

She met BWBMH through me, he became good friends with her group of friends down in Wollongong (the first year of uni), he broke up with me when his old g/f came back from one year exchange student, went back out with her for a while, then started going out with the other school friend. They went out for many a year. By this time my friend is good friends with him, so when he finally got married, had kids etc, she is family friends with them all. LOL

    Did you get all that?????

    The best of intentions

I borrowed a Whipper Snipper from a friend on Wednesday. Was hoping that Wedn night Mark would 'do the job'. Nahh - silly me. Not Thurs either, nor Friday....

So today, when it finally cooled down, out I went with the WS (Mark being down in Canberra at a mates 40th birthday).

I get the first part done, then we run out of petrol, re-fill it and get a bit more done - then it runs out of cord. By this time the 3 kids have come out the front and are harrassing me. Im getting stressed - then the thunder started............

Needless to say, it's not finished!!!

    The Fist Fight Begins.............

I got this email from Mandy................

On the way to dancing today, Kaiesha pipes up with :

    K: Mum, when I'm a mum, when I'm married, I want a big 4WD.
Me:  So who's going to be your husband?
    K:  (rolls eyes) CONNOR!!!!
    then
K:  I'm going to marry Connor.  I don't want Connor to marry Brodie.  I want to marry Connor.  I think I have to hit Brodie!!!

Ed note:  Better not tell Kaiesha that Brodie and Connor are flowergirl and page boy at the SDA ball in June and that Connor can't remember it's called 'page boy' and is calling it 'marry boy.'!!!!

    Connor's Homework!

You should have seen him sit down to do his homework! *fingers crossed* Ive got another CJ on my hands! He did the first side by himself, with no assistance (that was just tracing the sounds and matching the sounds to the pictures) and the other side he had to read the sentence, trace the sentence and write the sentence. I stood with him for that, reminded him about finger spacing ONCE and he remembered every time afterwards. His writing aint bad........................

He didnt want to read the book - Dee did though!

Oh, guess what I had to do! Photocopy his bloody homework page so she could sit up at the bench and do it as welL! ROFL!!! Con couldnt believe it was the same page, he didnt know the printer was a photocopier!! lol

    Tattoo

Next Wednesday is Rowan's 9th birthday.

I decided a while ago that I would like to get a special tattoo done, of his name. But not his name as such...

Anyway, decided that I would get his name as a sigil or binding rune.

My friend, Lorraine lent me the book and tonight I sat down at the computer, played Rowan's song and had my candles and incence burning, and I designed the tat. It is just as geometrical atm. Not sure if I will have it like that, or whether I will get it 'tarted up' into a more artistic form. The picture shows the 2 'sounds' that make up Rowan, and then the sigil that combines them.

I am getting it as a 'white tattoo' The picture below is what white tats look like. This has only just been done though, when it 'calms down' it will be barely visible - more like a suntan iykwim.

I am feeling very very special about this. I want something with me that is for him. And I also found out tonight that the number 9 is very magical. There are 9 sacred trees, and the Rowan is one of them.

Anyway, this a the kind of thing I am getting and this is what a white tat looks like.

I dont know where I will get it yet. Its for me, noone else.

    FOoty Fever

Connor, Mark and Dad have gone into the "Federation Cup" game tonight at Aussie Stadium.

Peta gave dad the ticket for Christmas, and then Con came home from school with a 'one free child with paying adult' so they could take him too!!

Its (in Connor's words) THE TIGERS V's THE CHICKENS!!!! (that would be the Roosters)

He was practising his chanting before he left "GO THE TIGERS!! DONT GO THE CHICKENS!!!!' LOL!

Damn it - the chickens won! Now he wants to go for them instead!!! LOL!

And then on the way home (after whinging since before half time how he was tired and wanted to go home, and putting his head and feet on Poppa and Daddys laps).
He proceeded to play game boy in the car all the way home....

2 down one to go - well things happen in 3's don't they?

On Monday morning, at 5am, Connor got a migrane. It lasted about an hour and then he fell asleep for 30mins then was up chucking for the next 3 hours.

Last night Darcy was up chucking, all night long. And then all day long at Mums. She has only eaten half a biscuit all day, and had lots of iceblocks.

When will CJ up-chuck I wonder???

    The house stinks of spew!!

    Ewwww!

    February 14

Umahhh - Thanks Peetie for this funny!!!

The American Government funded a study to see why the head of a man's penis was larger than the shaft.  After 1 year and $180,000, they concluded that the reason that the head was larger than the shaft was to give the man more pleasure during sex.

After the US published the study, the French decided to do their own study.  After $250,000 and 3 years of research, they concluded that the reason the head was larger than the shaft was to give the woman more pleasure during sex.

Australians, unsatisfied with these findings, conducted their own study.  After 2 weeks and a cost of around $75.46, and 2 cases of beer, they concluded that it was to keep a man's hand from flying off and hitting himself in the forehead.
    February 13

Connor on his day out with Daddy at the races!!

Connor - with gameboy firmly in hand!! lol!

The starting line... or is it the finish line... I dunno - it's just a bunch of fast cars to me!!

I *think* Mark's taken a picture of the German car here - not the man whose overalls are almost fallen down!!

    February 11

    Snip Snip SNip

Well, my dramas at the hairdresser this morning. I arrive down there at 9.15 - park very close (where it was all flooded btw) and the hairdresser was shut. So I wander up to Woolies, & into target and then come back for a coffee at coffeeclub and hairdresser opens at 10. Go in there right on 10 and they say 'no, can't fit u in until 11' GRRRRR - NOT HAPPY JAN!!

I cant' stick around utnil 11, I have to leave in a few mins to go to Hornsby for a meeting, so I walk out in a huff. As Im walking past the coffee club and up the stairs back to the car I notice a barber with a young girl having her hair done. I think 'bugger it!'  and go in and ask if they do womens cuts.

The man, with very thick accent says 'I am in a barber shop but I am a hairdresser, if you would like me to do your hair, please say so. A hairdresser is like a dr, you choose who you like the best.' IM thinking 'OMG! What IS this!' but I need my haircut, I wasn't wasting the outing, so I said 'yes please, do it'.

Long and short of it being this bloke is from Iran, has been in Oz for 28 years. Been a hairdresser for 40 years. Trained in London at some exclusive school ( i knew the name, cant remember it though). Worked for 10 years in this schools TOP shop in Knightsbridge, where all the models went - he was up on the top floor working on the models!

He now owns 20 barbers all over Sydney and has his own academy. He knew EXACTLY what I mean when I said what I wanted for my hair and he spent FIFTY MINUTES shaping and cutting it - and charged me TWENTY DOLLARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think Im hooked!!! My new hairdresser is a barber named Russell! LOL!

    Angel in Heaven

Many of you know how much my online mums group means to me. It has been my saving grace on many occassions and some of my best friends are on there.

We are all on other online groups for different things, that are not just suburban but with people all over Australia, indeed, all over the world.

A few of my friends are on a group called 'mothers, shoppers, friends' and they are scattered all over Oz.

On Saturday, one of the mums lost her 3 year old daughter. She died in her car, that she accidently locked herself into. Although I do not know these people, although friends of mine have never met them IRL - it is like they really do know them.

The following blogs explain a little bit more about what happened to Ava. It is so scary, it is so awful.

    My prayers are with them.

My friend Sally and her trip to the vet!

I heard the funniest story today! I have to share it!! Sally would be able to write it much better, but I know she won't do it! lol!

I was told last year by a dancing mum that the best thing use to treat for Nits was Frontline. Frontline as in, what you use on the dog!

I was sceptical, but she assured me that she was told it by her friend who was a vet and he has used it for years on his kids. 3 drops of the lowest dosage on the scalp.

So, after another bout of nits - I decided to do it!

That was over 12months ago and we've not had a case since.

    Sooooo,

I mentioned it to my mums group. Of course, there were many people shocked, but other mums who (due to never ending nit cycles) willing to have a go.

Sally is one of the latter..........

Her middle child, E, has the MOST BEAUTIFUL Strawberry blonde hair. It is sooooooo straight and sooooo thick. It is also a haven for head lice. They LOVE it! Sally is constantly treating E's hair. And spends up to 4 hours with the lice comb getting the eggs out.

About 6 weeks ago she decided 'bugger this, Im trying the frontline' So she went to the vet to get some.

The situation went something like this..........

Sally 'Hi, I'd like some Frontline please, the smallest one.'

Vet 'Ok, what kind of dog have you got?'

    Sally 'A little one'

Vet (very efficient in front of computer) 'Right, what's its name? How much does it weigh?'

Sally (freaking out and trying to think of something). "Ummm, I dont really know, its actually my ex-husbands dog, Im buying it for him.'

Vet 'ok then, well, we'll just get some details...'

Sally 'Ummm, how much is it anyway'

Vet 'Its $70 for the 6 month dose'

Sally 'OMG, dont worry about it, he can buy it himself, its his dog' (thank god she made up THAT part of the story, she had an escape clause!)

Well, Sal was telling Mandy and I think today and we couldnt stop laughing. We said 'You should have said you had a Red-Coated Bitch named E who was 7 years old!!!!'

ANyway, Sally and Mandy have decided that they will go halves in the 6 month supply (for the dog - you dont need to 'treat' the kids every month, as I say, I haven't done it in over 12 months!)

The one I had here (which I had in the cupboard for my little red-coated studd!) was Frontline Plus. So my kids are not only protected from headlice -but from paralysis ticks as well!!!!!!

And of course, my head is itchy now that Ive written this story. I bet yours is just from reading it!!!!!!
