February 28 KC goes back to Deutch today :(Well, the month is over, mum is out of hospital, albiet not well, but much better. And Casey is going 'home' BOO HOO.
But - only 101 days (or dalmations) until we see her again! February 27 Conn0r's din0 s0ng!'TYRANASAURUS UP A TREE
AND HE FELL D0WN AND BR0KE HIS TAIL
AND THE RAPT0RS CAME AND ATE HIM UP! February 24 Starting to get organised for trip O/SWell, our flights are finally finalised for Germany/Scotland, so last night I thought 'time to make some phone calls to Scotland'.
Firstly rang the lady about accomodation, left a message!
Then rang about dancing lessons, left a message! So then got online and looked up the games that we can fit in whilst we are there.
Im really really REALLY hoping we can stay in Fife (although there may be a set back there as the lady from the accomodation wrote me an email this morning to say that the lodge is currently closed and they will know no more until March - oh dear
So our games so far are
Arrive up in Scotland by the 23rd June
24/6 - Ceres Games
25.6 (can't find one yet - has to be one - its a Sunday)
1.7 - Thornton Games
2.7 - Cupar Games
6.7 - Kenmore Games
8.7 - Alva Games
9.7 - Stirling Games
Then, I REALLY want to take the girls to Tomintoul on the 15th but we have a problem. We fly out from Frankfurt on the 18th. Tomintoul is waaaay up in the Highlands so we would have to drive all night to get back to London by the 16th (which isn't a problem actually), get the girls flying out from London sometime in the early afternoon, keep driving to Dover - cross over on the late crossing. Drive through France on the 17th, get back to Mannheim. Pack, get Daniel to follow Mark BACK to Strassboug to drop the car off early on the 18th and then all of us get up to Frankfurt for our flight out on the 18th at 5pm. It all seems a bit much! Mind you, we'll be exhausted - so should sleep on the plane! LOL!
But, the reason I would LOVE the girls to dance at Tomintoul is because a) it was my VERY FIRST games in Scotland and holds very fond memories for me b) It's the highest village in the highlands, and I still quote that and I was 16 when i went there!! c) It is definately run by the SOBHD so no probs with CJ dancing. D) Mark has never been to Tomintoul and he is always talking about going there.
So you see my problem. If I CAN find another games on the 15th that is down in the Lowlands we will probably go to that instead. It means it's easier to get the girls back to London earlier.
And if I can't - then we probably will have our last games on the 9th. Mind you - hopefully the girls CAN STAY A WEEK LONGER over there. I am really hoping they can, and I can organise billeting for them. The reason I really hope they can is because - the week that we leave to go home IS GAMES WEEK!! WAHHHHH!
There is a games on EVERY DAY!
15 - Tomintoul
16 - Stonehaven
17 - Burntisland
18 - Inverkeithing
19 - something
20 - Isle of Mull (beautiful games! Cept when your motor blows up!)
21 - something
22 - something
23 - something
These are the games I am usually over for and it is VERY WEIRD being home just before them. If I had realise that is when they were on I would have made my flights a week later. But too hard (and expensive) to change that now.
And it seems 'omg - dancing at all those' but it's so much fun, and really, they only have max of 6 dances at each games, and theyre all short steps - so tis easy!! And so lovely to see all these parts of Scotland. I really AM sad that Im missing out on them.
Have to make them on the NEXT trip! LOL! Must go - off to playgroup.... February 23 Well, woman DO have high expectations!A store that sells NEW HUSBANDS has just opened in New York City, where a woman may go to choose a husband. Among the instructions at the entrance is a description of how the store operates. You may visit the store ONLY ONCE! There are SIX floors and the attributes of the men increase as the shopper ascends the flights.
There is, however, a catch: you may choose any man from a particular floor, or you may choose to go up a floor, but you cannot go back down except to exit the building!
So, a woman goes to the Husband Store to find a husband.
On the first floor the sign on the door reads: Floor 1 - These men have jobs.
The second floor sign reads: Floor 2 - These men have jobs and love kids.
The third floor sign reads: Floor 3 - These men have jobs, love kids, and are extremely good looking.
"Wow," she thinks, but feels compelled to keep going. She goes to the fourth floor and sign reads: Floor 4 - These men have jobs, love kids, are drop-dead good looking and help with the housework.
"Oh my God!" she exclaims, "I can hardly stand it!" Still, she goes to the fifth floor and sign reads: Floor 5 - These men have jobs, love kids, are drop-dead gorgeous, help with the housework, and have a strong romantic streak.
She is so tempted to stay, but she goes to the sixth floor and the sign reads: Floor 6 - You are visitor 31,456,012 to this floor. There are no men on this floor. This floor exists solely as proof that women are impossible to please. Thank you for shopping at the Husband store. >>>>>>>>>>
A New Wives Store opened across the street. The first floor has wives that love sex. The second floor has wives that love sex and have money. The third through sixth floors have never been visited. February 22 Let the h0mew0rk begin!Well it t0ok until week 4 but it's n0w started. M0nday the maths b0ok came h0me. Tuesday was the literacy. Plus the h0me reader.
Thankfully we have the 40min cartrip fr0m m0orebank - Winst0n Hills 2 do the maths w0rk. That w0rked well yesterday, she finished it all.
The spelling stuff we'll have 2 do @ a desk th0ugh.Her writings bad enough when in the c0rrect envir0nment! February 21 Well 2day was interesting at Gymnastics - Apparently! My dear darling friend, Sally, does my 'Connor Run' on a Tuesday.
She picks him up from school, takes him to Gymnastics with her darling boy, takes them both out for tea, takes them home, bathes them, puts them in their jammies and then Mark picks up - late - on his way home from work. (ISN"T SHE WONDERFUL!!)
(meanwhile - Im flying around Sydney - travelling in excess of 100km to take my daughter dancing!)
Anyway - today is term 1 - week 3 - at Gymnastics...
The teacher comes up to Sally and says that he won't be able to teach Connor for too much longer and will have to recommend somewhere else.......
BECAUSE HE IS TOO GOOD!!!!!!
OMFG!!!!!!! Sally kept saying (and rightly so) 'But he's only 3, but he's only 3!' - (he's actually not even supposed to be in that class, they're supposed to be 4, but I did a dogey and sent him anyway!)
Apparently he can do all these things that they are supposed to do at 7. Strength things. But of course - (Being 3) he can't sit and follow directions!
The coach initially told Sal that he would be able to teach him until the end of the term. Sal said 'well, I think the parents would probably like him in this class until the end of the year - HE IS ONLY THREE!!!' And the coach said 'well, yes, I could start him on the things that he will be able to continue at a more specialised place'
OH MY GOD OH MY GOD OH MY GOD!
How on earth do I fit in elite gymnastics, dancing, teaching, teaching dancing, raising 3 children - oh and cleaning this brothel I live in!!!
Hmmm- very scared but very excited!!! HE IS ONLY THREE!!!!!! SHIT February 20 My Johari Window

We left the kids with friends and WE HAD ADULT COMPANY FOR 6 HOURS IN A ROW!! We had dinner at the pub at Fox Studios and then crossed over to the Horden PAvillion to see Billy Connelly.
SHIT HE WAS FUNNY!!! 3 hours he was on stage - non stop! And he is so energetic! Amazing as the bloke is 63 now!! He said he remembers turning 60 but 61 and 62 disapeared and now he's 63 and doesn't know how he got there.
There were lots of funny jokes but 2 I remember were....
Golf is shite
Golf was invented by Scots who wanted to get the boring person in the family out of the house for 4 hours!!!!
And secondly, he was going on about John Howard and what an idiot he was and he said..
The only good thing about John Howard is that we know what Harry Potter will look like when he's 60!
LOL! February 17 Funny JokePeta sent me this by email, and seeings as we are hoping to do the 'world cup' thing this year it tickled my fancy!!
A man had two great tickets for the Football Cup final. As he sits down, another man comes down and asks if anyone is sitting in the seat next to him. "No", he says, "the seat is empty". "This is incredible!" said the man, "who in their right mind would have a seat like this for the FA cup final, the biggest sporting event in the year, and not use it?" He says, "Well, actually, the seat belongs to me. My wife was supposed to come with me, but she passed away. This is the first Cup Final we haven't been together since we got married". "Oh .. I'm sorry to hear that. That's terrible. I guess you couldn't find someone else, a friend or relative or even a neighbour to take the seat?" The man shakes his head..."Nah. They're all at the funeral". February 16 UMah! CJ jigged school today - and is jigging tomorrow 2!Now, anyone who knows me know what I am like about school. My kid goes unless she is dying! LOL!
Well, today (only week 3 of school) CJ missed school. What happened was that Mark left for work at 6 and didnt re-set the alarm (cause the Boy is usually in with me by 7am.) Well today Connor stayed in bed until 8.20, which is when he woke me - which is when we are supposed to be leaving to get CJ to school.
So my thoughts were - do I get her up, have her crying because I will be running around like a chook, have me screaming at the other 2 so that we all get out into the car in about 15mins flat and she gets to school late.
Or, do I let her sleep (and me stay in bed veging - at least until Darcy awakes). I chose the latter!!
She woke up at 9.15!!! OMG!! So, she stayed in her jammies until 3pm this arvo and then the 3 of them got in the shower and then she dressed for dancing and we left.
Then, on the way home from the hospital tonight Casey said 'seeings as we're not going into the hospital tomorrow, can CJ have the day off school and I will take her out for the day. I have wanted to spend a special day with her since I got home but haven't been able to.'
What a lovely Casey Darling!! So, I checked with Mark (not because I would listen to him really, but he doesn't need to know that! LOL) and we decided that she could have a special day with Aunty.
We came home and she got into her jammies and picked her clothes for tomorrow. Then Mark dropped them down at mum and dads, cause she is sleeping the night with Case too!
So tomorrow they are going shopping and then to the movies and then out to lunch (or whatever order! LOL)
Opps - she doesn't get to do her spelling test! Ahhh well! :) February 15 This house is FOULI thought working 2 days a week would mean that I could get the house in order, instead of living in a pigsty. But , because of NOT having the other 3 (or 5 actually) days off with hospital visits happening, the house is actually WORSE than usual.
Added to this, my lovely friends have given me bags of clothes for the kids - so their rooms are STUFFED with items of clothing and I have to go through their old stuff to see what doesn't fit and pass it on and/or send it to Vinnies!! Argghhh - and i have NO TIME!!!
And when I DO have time (like now, arrived home after hospital and dropping CJ off at dancing at 4.30pm) as I dont start teaching until 6.30, I have to make the dinner for tonight (sausages and beans), the lunches for tomorrow (vegemite sambos) and then sit down here to vege so that my head doesnt explode. So the last thing I wanna do is C.L.E.A.N.
*sigh* February 14 Stupid blo0dy friggen d0ct0rs!Last week they tell mum that if all continues as well as it is she could be home @ the end of this week. Then 2day @ lunchtime they tell her ' you can go h0me 2mrw Diane! The first set and 2nd set of grafts are doing well. They explain to her about how she will need to come in for her dressings to be changed 3 times a week until... whenever.' Fine - that's fine - as long as she can come home!
Then 6pm the Plastics Dr c0mes in & says 'So sorry Mrs Banks, weve decided 2 do m0re grafts on ur toes on Friday. So u cant go home!' HOW DARE THEY!!
I mean, that is great that they are fixing her up, and if she needs more grafts, she needs more grafts - but to tell her 6 hours previously that she can be discharged tomorrow and then to come in and say that she's back in theatre on Friday - which means she won't be home FOR AT LEAST 10 days - and that is all going well.
Mum is so upset because she had her hopes up.Why bloody tell her @ all? We're all so upset.
So - at the moment she is well, but her toes on her left foot need grafting as they are not healing as well as they should be on their own. She she goes in for that on Friday - more donor sites, more morphine, back to bed rest *sigh* But - it IS good that they are fixing the toes - pity about the way they went about telling us though....
Grrrrrrr!! Damn Doctors!!! February 13 Etags - my saviour and my nemisis!Bloody etags and bloody motorways!! GRRR
I LOVE that the M7 is open now - very easy to get CJ from ballet to highland
I HATE that it costs $6.80 to run it from Prestons to 7 Hills
I LOVE that an etag does every single motorway in Sydney
I HATE that I have now done the FULL Sydney Orbital 3 times in the past 10 days! (on at Prestons M7 - off at 7 Hills for Highland, On M2 at 7 Hills 2 hours later - off at Artarmon at Hospital, 3 hours later - on at North Sydney Harbour Tunnel - continuing onwards through Eastern Distributor - Continuing onwards to M5 and off at Casula!!! - Very expensive!)
I LOVE that the ETag lanes don't have boom gates or I'd be stuffed this past week!
I HATE that 4 beeps means you're out of credit and they only top up your account fortnightly!
I LOVE that tonight at midnight is the top up and I won't be using a toll today! I HATE that the Harbour tunnel costs both ways but the bridge only costs one way, but why would I go over the bridge when the tunnel leads straight through to the airport?
I LOVE that Mum is supposed to come home at the end of this week if she keeps going as well as she is, so no more full Orbitals and no more Harbour Tunnels and no more 4 beeps of the etag!!!
February 12 Happy Birthday Ryan!We went to a 3rd birthday party today over at Emu Plains. It was a pool party in this private swimming complex. A big inground pool about 25m x 20m but only came up to chest height on an adult. Oh and it was indoors.
My god - what a great place for a party! I will post pics later, but it was great!! It's only $30 an hour and you can supply all the food yourself, or they will cater for it!
We had the whole place to ourselves, and they let you use all of the bubbles, kickboards, balls etc that the pool has! I was thinking how perfect it would be for my dancing studios xmas party - pity it is in Emu Plains! Not exactly around the corner! LOL
Oh and I think today is Jamie Murray's 9th birthday! If so - Happy birthday Jamie!! February 11 A bit deep - but gets you thinking.....
Billy Graham's daughter was interviewed on the Early Show and Jane Clayson asked her "How could God let something like this happen?" (regarding Hurricane Katrina) Anne Graham gave an extremely profound and insightful response. She said, "I believe God is deeply saddened by this, just as we are, but for years we've been telling God to get out of our schools, to get out of our government and to get out of our lives. And being the gentleman He is, I believe He has calmly backed out. How can we expect God to give us His blessing and His protection if we demand He leave us alone?" In light of recent events...terrorists attack, school shootings, etc.
I think it started when Madeleine Murray O'Hare (she was murdered, her body found recently) complained she didn't want prayer in our schools, and we said OK. Then someone said you better not read the Bible in school . the Bible says 'thou shalt not kill, thou shalt not steal, and love your neighbour as yourself.' And we said OK. Then Dr. Benjamin Spock said we shouldn't spank our children when they misbehave because their little personalities would be warped and we might damage their self-esteem (Dr. Spock's son committed suicide). We said an expert should know what he's talking about. And we said OK. Now we're asking ourselves why our children have no conscience, why they don't know right from wrong, and why it doesn't bother them to kill strangers, their classmates, and themselves. Probably, if we think about it long and hard enough, we can figure it out. I think it has a great deal to do with "WE REAP WHAT WE SOW." Funny how simple it is for people to trash God and then wonder why the world's going to hell.
Funny how we believe what the newspapers say, but question what the Bible says...
Funny how you can send 'jokes' through e-mail and they spread like wildfire but when you start sending messages regarding the Lord, people think twice about sharing. Funny how lewd, crude, vulgar and obscene articles pass freely through cyberspace, (ed note - don't get me wrong - I like lewd and crude articles! lol!) but public discussion of God is suppressed in the school and workplace.
Funny how when you forward this message, you will not send it to many on your address list because you're not sure what they believe, or what they WILL think of you for sending it. Funny how we can be more worried about what other people think of us than what God thinks of us. February 10 ZAP!Just had a fright (well, not just - over an hour ago now!)
I was trying to do some grilled cheese on toast and the little griller that we have (that was mum and dads) wasn't heating up - the light wasn't coming on. So I pushed the plug in on the power board, where it's attached.
BUUZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ It is like they tell you, you can't let go. I reckon it went for about 5 secs or so. All up my arms and especially in my middle finger of my R hand, cause that is where I was pushing it in.
It frightened the hell out of me. I feel quite sick now, to the stomach as well as tingly and headachy.
I rang Mark up and asked him to go and get CJ from school because I dont trust myself to drive in this state.
scary scary scary February 09 Mother DearestThankfully, all is well with Mum. Just typical of the hospital's inability to communicate with us before hand!
What they did was 'tidy up' around the raw edges of the big grafts they did last week, plus they did a few smaller grafts that they were going to leave to heal on their own -but because they were going in anyway they thought 'they might as well!' What's another pound of flesh hey!! All is well - she is doing very well, cranky and crotchety - which means she must be feeling better! She had a big fight with the nurses Tuesday about her bed!! It wasn't working properly, not going up and down and left and right and dancing a jig. Eventually a man with a screwdriver came up and fixed it! And it's behaving itself now!
Yesterday the fight was with the catering mob! And this is just ridiculous (not on mum - on them!) Mum is having great trouble eating. She has absolutely NO appetite but has been threatened that she must eat or they will put the tube down her nose and feed her intravenously (I say do that - at least the food is getting in!) She really can't stand the sight of food, so it is a big deal each day when the menu is being filled out as to what is the most appetising on there, that she may eat. Her meals have to be approved by the dietician because with burns you need lots of protein and stuff.
Yesterday, at lunch, she was supposed to have 'lean pork with gravy' - she got 'sweet and sour TOFU!!!' I kid you not!!! Well she took one look at it and heaved!! So we called the nurse and they went to try and find another meal, came back with shepherds pie - but that had too strong an odour for her, so she ended up just eating her rice pudding and piece of bread (which was all her stomach could handle anyway). Casey had the tofu and Connor and Darcy (and I!) shared the shepherds pie! So there were phone calls back and forth to catering, and Case said that dinner was correct.
A good thing about today was she was taken off the morphine drip! So that is great for her, and for us, as the little ramblings and hallucinations were just making us girls roll on the floor with laughter! She was saying the funniest things!
I think that is about all there is to say at the moment. She gets tired quite easily and tells you to please keep talking as she is listening but just doing it with her eyes closed (but then she starts snoring, so you know that the listening has stopped!)
Mum still needs assistance just reaching for things and getting her dinner sorted before she can eat it (you know, lids off, drink filled, bread buttered, etc etc etc)
February 08 Put the Teacher Hat on at CJs school today!!Well, I meet with Ceilidh's teacher today.
Lovely lady - Mrs Collins. Her first name is Charmaine and for some reason every time I say her name i think of 'Charlotte Collins' as in Pride and Prejudice. And I imagine that Mr Collins at home is a bumbling rector! LOL! (Could well be seeings as it is a big churchy God school! LOL) Had an 'official interview time' LOL! At 8.15 this morning rocked on up, gave CJ money to go and get a hash brown for brekkie and knocked on 2Cs door.
I wanted to explain what was happening with mum, and that Cj has had some late late nights these past 2 weeks, and that it would continue for a few weeks more.
I wanted to tell her about our trip o/s this year, as CJ will miss 3 weeks school And....
I wanted to give her the run down on Miss Prissy C. Thankfully there are only 16 kids in Ceilidh's class so I know much of what I wanted to 'complain about' (mention nicely) probably wont happen this year as the teacher will be able to have eyes in the back of her head.
But I spoke about how already Ceilidh was 'learnt the system' of getting away with the bare minimum to keep her cruising through, that school is just social for her - when it shouldn't be as she is bright.
I spoke about the problems with maths groups last year. The teachers were going to put CJ up into the top group but felt that she would be upset if the other kids were faster than her (because she is a notorious slow finisher - too busy gassbagging!). Mark and I were devestated at the P/T night last yera when her teacher told us that they had thought that but decided not to do it.
GRRRR - That is exactly what she needs! A swift kick up the bum to show her that the others can do it - why isn't she!!Because she can, she's just lazy! So anyway - teacher was wonderful. It may have gone in one ear and out the other, but at least Ive told her now -so I feel better! LOL Oh - also - Ceilidh was very excited yesterday because 'the reptile man' came to school - who ended up being a woman! LOL!
This photo is not of that, but of her on Aussie Day at Fairfield City Farm. Will post about that later, have forgotten all about what a wonderful day we had that day because of the awful events with mum that happend that night. But will get onto it tomorrow or Fri. ![]() February 07 Where does Connor get his energy from? And could he give some to me please!!!!
Today, after a day at Preschool - running up a storm, Connor had his first Gymnastic lesson.
WELL HE LOVED IT!!! First of all he LOVED that Sam was doing it too ' Sam is coming Sam is coming Yeah Yeah Yeah, I love Sam Mummy!' Then we get there and theres the monkey bars, the beam, the tunnel, the hoops.
Well he LITERALLY bounced off the walls, he had so much fun. (Poor Sam had less fun, he's not 100% at the moment) We can't wait until next Tuesday for the next installment - thank goodness for Sally, cause I'll be doing the Ceilidh run on Tuesdays till mum is better.
