30 noviembre Subject: The customer is not always right, but they are always theThis is from a friend of a friend who works at David Jones... -----Original Message----- Yes, I have had some weird customers in the last couple of months, but none weirder than today! One of my (very young!) colleagues came to me and said that there was a lady asking about pillows and she didn't know how to help and asked me to help. So I went over to her, put on my nicest smile, cheery face etc and greeted her warmly! I asked her about what she was after in a pillow and I got it: "I see these down pillows are all made in China and Thailand." "Yes," I replied, "They are all very good quality but some have more down in them than others and it is the down that makes them soft. Did you know that all pillows are 30% off this weekend?" "Oh, I see, but I don't want one that comes from China or Thailand, I want one from Australia!" "OK, Buying Australian is important, but we have no suppliers of down pillows that are made in Australia, this one is made by an Australian company though and is of wonderful quality." "I see, but it is made in Thailand and if I sleep on it, I will get Bird Flu." At this stage I am trying so hard to keep a straight face. "Yes, ma'am I can see your point, but I'm sure that they would not be imported if they were not treated properly. The government is very strict about these things and I am sure they will have been treated. I would say there is no risk to you." "Oh, but are you sure? I would hate to catch Bird Flu." "Oh ma'am, I am certain there is no risk of catching bird flu. Have you felt how soft the pillow is?" "Alright then, I'll take it." Yes, probably my hardest sale of the day but she ended up with a pillow. And if you hear of a woman in Australia who has died from bird flu because of sleeping on a pillow made in Thailand, then I will no doubt be out of a job! Oh and yes, after I had processed the sale I had to go out the back for a laugh! 29 noviembre Connor TalkThe English Language According to Connor Bonnor

Binny Kig - Guinea Pig 26 noviembre Young Man Are You Listenin' To Me.........Boy-oh was a star today!! Cept he got himself boxed into a corner and didn't fight his way out! Lol!
And he had the poops in the finale so was a grumble bum!! But he danced his little heart out in YMCA and was soooo very excited about going on to do it. Here are some pix before, waiting to go on and after the concert..... (note the big girl undies on Darcy in the first picture!!) ![]() ![]() ![]() 25 noviembre Snapdragon...I just wanted you to know ...
I've entered the snapdragon part of my life...
![]() ![]() 24 noviembre My Boy is a VIllage Person Tomorrow!!Con is an RG star boy tomorrow!! Gonna take lots of photos! Gotta go get his stuff ready today *sigh* 23 noviembre From my friend Mandy.....Quote from an email I got from her...........
I bought some bananas today - a ripe bunch for $5.
Leilani got one, and as she was peeling it, said "we did Child Protection at school today mum"..
ROFL, I wonder why the banana made her think of that???? 22 noviembre Out of the mouths of babes.....I got this from my friend last night.........
This is what I heard from Aidan when I picked him up from pre-school this arvo: "Connor was late this morning because his mum dressed too slowly." ROFL I think we need to start getting these kids to sign gag orders! Lorraine 21 noviembre I wish my son would sleep in!It was 5.40 this morning. And now that the 3 of them are in teh same room,it means that it was 5.43 for Darcy. CJ just sleeps through it all - a true Banks!
I have told Con that if he wakes at that time, early in the morning he is to get his Leapster out of his 'green pocket' and play that in bed, and not wake the rest of the house. His response was 'but Im HUNGRY mummy'.
Grrrrrrrr Doesn't help that I had my "Monday night TV'' last night - and that goes until half 12. BTW - he is at bigschool orientation atm. Was very excited about going. Just ran off into the classroom. Told me 'Im going to do REAL work today mummy!' 20 noviembre Teachers funny pay thought!I, for one, am sick and tired of those highly paid teachers. Their hefty salaries are driving up taxes, and they only work 9 or 10 months a year! Its time we put things in perspective and pay them for what they do, baby sit! We can get that for less than minimum wage. That's right! I would give them $3.00 an hour and only the hours they worked, not any silly planning time. That would be $15.00 a day. Each parent should pay $15.00 a day for these teachers to baby-sit their children. Now, how many do they teach in a day? maybe 25. Then that's 15 x 25 = $375.00 a day. But remember they only work 200 days a year! I'm not going to pay them for any vacations. Let's see? That's 375 x 200 = $75 000.00. (Hold on, my calculator must need batteries!) What about those Leading Teachers or the ones with Masters Degrees? Well, we could pay them minimum wage just to be that fair. Let's round it off to $6.00 an hour. That would be $6.00 times five hours times 25 children times 200 days = $150 000.00 per year. Wait a minute, there is something wrong here! THERE SURE IS, HUH? Send this to any teachers YOU may know. I'm sure they'd gladly accept babysitting rates! 19 noviembre sleep overs!Last night Brodie and Leilani slept over.
Originally it was just going to be Brodie (as Jacob was having his birthday sleepover at his house) but the kids were fighting over Brodie SOOO MUCH that I couldnt stand the thought of 24 hours of it! So I rang Mandy and asked if I could have Leilani for the night! lol! it worked out beautifully. The older 2 played gorgeously, the younger 2 played gorgeously and DeeDee played with both sets! And then Con would go off to watch tv and the girls would play together. Was all very noice!!! Note - their clean feet!! lol! ![]() 18 noviembre Connor likes Garbage!!Con and I were at the shops today and there were HEAPS of stuff on special.
As we were going through the checkout he was very excited....
Oh Mummy - You got Garbage Bread - I love Garbage Bread!!!!!! I know it's smelly stuff - but really!!!!???? 17 noviembre The Bikies!Today, after dropping CJ at school (poor darling!). The rest of us headed firstly to Ikea, secondly to visit Nanna Josephine in Concord Hospital and finally, to arrive at 2pm at the motorcycle show at Homebush. The kids had a BLAST! As did Mark and I! I have decided i REALLY want a scooter! I saw the funkiest Aprillia 250cc scooter!! I WANT IT!!!
Connor and Deedee got to have a ride on the little peewees - I have pics to follow!!! We left there at 6pm and the 2 exhausted kiddlets were sound asleep by the time we hit the M4! Darcy is still asleep (9.45pm) and Connor woke up for 90mins when Ceilidh got home from dancing, but went back to bed at 8.30 when CJ did!! I just hope that Dee stays down all night and doesn't awake just as Mark and I are wanting to go to bed!!
Great day it was! Plus we got some great stuff at Ikea and only spent $70! loL! 16 noviembre For my friend, Kylie....One of my dancing friends just lost her boyfriend (and soon to be fiance) tragically.
Gordy was the policeman killed up on the central coast on Saturday night in that RBT gone wrong.
The news reports state...
Senior Constable Peter Gordon Wilson, 41, was conducting speed checks on the F3 Freeway at Somersby, north of Sydney, on Saturday when he was run over by a four-wheel drive vehicle
![]() Big hugs Kylie ~i~ RIP Gordy ~i~ 15 noviembre Y my blogs have a 'dot' - just for Casey!!. The reason Casey is because I hate to see a 'day wasted' on the blog. There are lots of funnies etc that i can put up here - but if I dont do it before midnight - you lose the day. So I put a dot or a number so that the page is saved, and I can blog it later!!
Happy! lol!
Jus 13 noviembre 4 GARBAGE BAGS TO SEND TO THE VINNIE BIN!!!omg! Yesterday Mark and I did a huge purge of our clothes and Darcy's clothes and Connor's clothes (I did CJs 3 weeks ago). And we ended up with 4 bags - CHOCKAS to give to Vinnies. Plus a huge bag to give to Leanne plus a smaller bag to give to one of my dancing mums! Plus things I just threw out cause they were ferral!! AND THE CUPBOARDS ARE STILL OVERFLOWING!!!
So family - please DO NOT give my children clothes (or toys) for xmas!!!!!! lol!
Or Mark and I for that matter!!!!
I have just received a huge bag of clothes from "Mrs New Season" a lady that my friend knows. She buys new clothes every season - as in a new wardrobe every season. She then gives the clothes( most of which look unworn) to my friend, who goes through and gets her 'likes' out and then offers me the rest!~!!! Ive now got 3 more pairs of jeans! Plus a plethora of tops and track pants and track tops!!!! 12 noviembre OMG - I ate a banana!!!!Today (no - yesterday, its half midnight - or as they would say in Germany halb eine!) the kids and I had a banana each - and it cost me nothing! woohoo!
We have not had banana's in this house since they went up after the cyclone. $12kg compared to the old $1.99 kg was just too much!
Then a fortnight ago mum and dad went up to visit friends in Bundaberg. These friends have a banana tree - lady finger bananas. Mum brought a bunch of green ones home for us. So we stuck them in a dark cupboard and today they were ripe! YUmmo!!! So sweet and yummy!!!
The kids and I were stoked! Plus we have enough for preschool this week!! lol 11 noviembre 3 - Today CJ got the results of her THIRD ballet exam! She sat Grade One at the end of October, we are getting 'old hat' at going to these exam presentation days - hate them though - very nerve wracking. Anyway - She got a distinction and 84 marks, good girl! Pretty good considering that she is only going to one ballet lesson a week and all the others have 3 a week. I am very proud of her. Here she is out the front with her certificates (and one of Connor after dancing, cause he wanted a photo too!)
10 noviembre Tech SupportDear Tech Support,
Last year I upgraded from Boyfriend 5.0 to Husband 1.0 and noticed a distinct slow down in overall system performance --particularly in the Flower and jewelry applications, which operated flawlessly under Boyfriend 5.0. In addition, Husband 1.0 has uninstalled many other valuable programs, such as Romance 9.5 and Personal Attention 6.5 and then installed undesirable programs such as NFL 5.0, NBA 3.0, and Golf Clubs 4.1. Conversation 8.0 no longer runs, and Housecleaning 2.6 simply crashes the system. I've tried running Nagging 5.3 to fix these problems, but to no avail. What can I do? Signed, Desperate Dear Desperate: First keep in mind, Boyfriend 5.0 is an Entertainment Package, while Husband 1.0 is an Operating System. Please enter the command: "http: I Thought You Loved Me.HTML" and try to download Tears 6.2 . Also don't forget to install the Guilt 3.0 update. If that application works as designed, Husband 1.0 should then automatically run the applications Jewelry 2.0 and Flowers 3.5. But remember, overuse of the above application can cause Husband 1.0 to default to Grumpy Silence 2.5, Happy Hour 7.0 or Beer 6.1. Beer 6.1 is a very bad program that will download the Snoring Loudly Beta. Whatever you do, DO NOT install Mother-in-law 1.0 (it runs a virus in the background that will eventually seize control of all your system resources). Also, do not attempt to reinstall the Boyfriend 5.0 program. These are unsupported applications and will crash Husband 1.0. In sum mary, Husband 1.0 is a great program, but it does have limited memory and cannot learn new applications quickly. You might consider buying additional software to improve memory and performance. We recommend Food 3.0 and Hot Lingerie 7.7. Good Luck, Tech Support |
