October 31 Happy Halloween! The kids had a school disco tonight. Connor's was from 5-6.30 and CJs from 7-8.30. Ceilidh had ballet first, so Ninja Boy and Fairy Princess and I walked up to school to drop him off. I had bought at $2 ninja sword at Golo Monday - SILLY SILLY ME! He karate kicked and swooshed at anything and everything!!
Then CJ got home and we raced to get her ready before I started teaching. She was a chinese girl. And wore her "king and I' pj's from last years concert. I still had the combs with the flowers on them! Her hair was in bunches and Averil had lent her a sanpan hat. She looked BEAUTIFUL!!
So Daddy walked up with the Chinese Princess and the Fairy Princess, to pick up Connor and drop CJ!
Then he walked back with the Ninja and the Fairy Princess.
They all had a very lovely time, and Fairy Princess got to dance at the beginning of both discos - so she was happy too! When we got home after dropping Connor I had to put the Umbrella song on here at home because she was dancing to it up there! lol!
Here are the photos!!
![]() October 30 Intelligent Cows, or at least ones who Contemplate are not welcome in OUR house!Well, Mother would be proud of me - Ceilidh called Connor some VERY nasty names yesterday - including swear words.
He came out to tell me that Ceilidh called said rude words to him. I said 'what did she call you?' 'A THINKING COW' he said. (ROFL! - but I didnt crack a smile! I just said 'send Ceilidh to me NOW') I assumed the worst - and it wasn't about COW!
She came out and I said 'what did you call Connor?' 'A stupid idiot' 'YOU DID NOT, What did you call him'
silence
"Ceilidh, what did you call him?'
'A Cow'
'What kind of cow?'
silence
'A f(mumble) cow'
'WHAT DID YOU CALL HIM CEILIDH'
'A friggin cow'
I didn't hit, I didn't scream, I just grabbed her arm and said...
'You did did you, come with me, straight to the bathroom'
"IM SORRY MUMMY, IM SORRY'
"open your mouth'
'NOOOO MUMMY NOOO!'
"YES Ceilidh, your mouth is filthy with filthy words, Open up.
"IM SORRY IM SORRY IM SORRY'
'I know you are! OPEN YOUR MOUTH" In went the liquid soap - in went my hand and swished it round, then over the tap and added some water! (gagging all the while of course!)
'Can I have a towel'
'NO!' Dragged her into her brother and made her apologise, plus put the fear of God into him and Darcy about getting their mouths washed out!
Hmmm - tough love! lol!
Bloody Public Schools! LOL!!!! October 29 Speech Time at School againFor some bloody reason, COnnor has to do ANOTHER speech at school!! It has to be on an animal (don't suppose we can resurrect the Chewy one from earlier..)
He wanted to do it on Possums. So after we went to the zoo we wrote it. After he finished Dee wanted to write 'HER' speech!!
Here they both are!!! My speech today is about possums.
Possums have round big eyes. They’re nocturnal, which means that they come out at night to eat and to play.
They are a little bit smaller than a cat and they have brown or grey fur.
There are brush tail possums (that have bushy tails) Ring tail possums (that have curly tails) And Gliding possums (that look like they have wings!) I saw them all at the zoo.
Possums eat fruit and they suck the nectar out of the flowers.
They live in the bush and can be found in Sydney.
I like possums because they look cute and cuddly but they have very sharp claws to help them climb up the trees.
Sometimes people can keep possums as pets. I wish I could!
Darcy’s Kangaroo Speech.
Kangaroos live in the bush. Kangaroos have big tails.
The little ones are called wallabies.
The big kangaroos are the mums.
They eat leaves in the morning.
The babies live in their mummy’s pouches. October 28 God Damn Bloody Broadband! We are on limited broadband, then it goes back to dialup speed. Usually we run out one or 2 days before the end of the month - which is a bugger and inconvienient but do-able.
However, this month we rang out TEN DAYS before the end of the month - and its a 31 day month! It's because Ive had lots of songs and pictures uploaded and downloaded this month. So now, I can't get onto Facebook or UTube or anything like that because they are too fast for dialup speed - so anyone who is in the middle of one of my scrabble games - so sorry !LOL!
I have the MOST BEAUTIFUL video of Darcy doing her solo -and I can't upload it. Even doing this blog takes 5 mins to open the page! I walk away and come back to it! The only thing that works up to speed is msn.
I went down to mum and dads to upload the utube - only to find thier computer internet access is not working for some reason too! Damn it!!
I will now TRY and upload the video on dialup - it will take at least 2 hours, if it does it at all! GRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!! October 27 Happy Burfday MarkusI blogged a big blurb last night and none of it saved! GRRRRR!
Try again! Not even sure if it will go under today's date or yesterdays?
Anyway, we had a good day. Connor and Darcy had their eisteddfod and mum, dad and Beau came out as well. So after the eisteddfod we went to Spurs at Ctown for lunch. OMG - cheap CHEAP meals!~ Their lunch deal for adults is $12.95 and we all had that, and the kids meals (inc desert and drink) were $8.95 - so Beau had Darcy's ribs and Dee and Con shared the nuggets and chips. Only cost us $76 - FOR EIGHT OF US!!!
Then the Grandparents went home and we all went to Borders and spent the next 3 hours there! lol! In Gloria Jeans coffee shop! Whilst Mark and the kids wandered the books (the kids section is right next to the GJ alcove) and I read the new Diana Gabaldon "Lord John' book - OH MY Peta!! OH MY!! October 26 BSTCeilidh got her Basic Skills Test results back yesterday.
These are the ones that every child in Yr3 sits.
She did ok, not great but not badly. Actually it pretty much sums up CJ for what she got. She did exceptionally well in Language and exceptionally poorly in Writing. And she got top of band 3 for Reading. So over all she got just above mid-band 3 for English.
And for Maths she did well in Space/Data/Measurement and not so well in Number (times tables! LOL). So again - got right in the middle over all. She is above the national benchmark for Yr 3, so all is ok! PHEW! October 25 Walk-a-thon and other stuffDee Dee went to transition today! She is soooooooo excited!!! She is just doing the 'sticky fingers' class (maths and manipulatives). So that's from 11.15-12.00. I went over to Krispy Kreme and have a coffee - with NO children! Amazing!! lol!
She just loved it and wants to be there more! LOL! She got on really well with the 5 year old boys that were in her class - I wonder why!! The teachers couldnt believe how good she was at just walking into the class and waving goodbye to me!
Also, Ceilidh and Connor had their walkathon at school yesterday. Money to go towards a covered walkway. It wasn't a race -but of course to Connor it was! He was first in all of Kindy to finish - surprise surprise!
oh, and he got bitten by a bee in class the other day - on the cheek! Whilst sitting at his seat, actually working!! Poor buggar! He didnt have a reaction thank god! Ceilidh was very excited on Tuesday because I let her ride her bike from home down to mum and dads (on the road) so she could get the walkathon forms signed! She's still talking about it! LOL October 24 COME WHAT MAY....Ceilidh-Girl is now into Moulin Rouge (I'm so happy! - which is a bit scary considering the movie is about prostitutes, but she doesn't get that bit - although she did say to me the other day 'why dont they just get married mummy! ' lol)
This song STILL makes me cry. This is the best bit in the whole wide movie!!!
Enjoy..... October 23 Darcy's still the same.As a baby she never wanted to be held in a 'cuddle'. The reason I couldnt breastfeed her was that she always stretched herself out! I couldnt even feed her a bottle without her squirming in my arms. And she hated the sling, which Connor had LOVED, and she didnt like the pouch - which CJ had loved. She was most comfortable in her bassinette pram, for walking and for feeding!
Well, tonight she fell asleep on my bed and I just carried her into her own bed. I almost dropped her. She was still sound asleep but she did not do the 'fetal curl' into me when I picked her up. She was stretched out stiff and would not bend at all. Connor and Ceilidh still bend into me when I carry them asleep. Weird child! :) October 22 har har harRalph's Surgery When Ralph first noticed that his penis was growing larger and staying erect longer, he was delighted, as was his wife. But after several weeks, his penis had grown fifty centimetres. Ralph became quite concerned. He was having problems dressing, and even walking. So he and his wife went to see a prominent urologist. After an initial examination, the doctor explained to the couple that, though rare, Ralph's condition could be fixed through corrective surgery. 'How long will Ralph be on crutches?' the wife asked anxiously. 'Crutches? Why would he need crutches?' responded the surprised doctor. 'Well,' said the wife coldly, 'you're gunna lengthen his legs, aren't you? October 21 Ballet Eisteddfod - National Character SectionCeilidh did her swords, in the solo section of an eisteddfod and she was on yesterday! I got a dvd of it, but I cant pick it up until after Connor and Darcy's section at the same eisteddfod next week. I'll be sure to utube it then!
CJ was very scared (I was petrified, but had to pretend I was calm!) When we walked in and paid Ceilidh was in her outfit already (because I had to teach this morning and rush from there, so didnt know how close the timeframe would be). You should have seen the looks she was getting! lol! One of our biggest worries was that the judge would think 'Oh I know nothing of Scottish dancing' and mark her down because of it, but thankfully she marked as she saw - the Scottish the Polish the Swiss etc.
Anyway, Ceilidh did a swords. Unfortunately she was too little to dance on with 2 swords (anyone who has seen CJ dance knows her arms are woe-ful without her having the strength to hold up a set of swords!). So I walked on and put one sword on ,and then I used Leap and Rock's 3&1 swords and she marched on in the intro with one sword held high, bowed then strathspeyed around the stage for half of the first step, saluted the judge, laid the sword and then did her normal 2&1. She looked very frightened & unsure in the first bit (this is one of the reasons I entered her, she has no self-confidence). But once the normal swords started she was fine. She mucked it up a wee bit (but only mum and I knew) as she didnt do enough strathespeys at the start so was 1/4 of a step over at teh end, but she just kept dancing and backstepped out at the right time (but on the wrong side of the swordS) Well - when she finished you should have heard the round of applause!! OMG! It was amazing! And people that came up to her, and to mum and I asking about Highland, or asking what it was! (lol) or telling us that they used to do it when they were little!! And to top it all off, CJ got 2nd!! So she was over the moon! And she got a report that I was really really pleased with. The judged judged on what she saw in front of her. Commented on the fact that she was nervous and looking down at the start, on her lovely outfit and nicely executed positions. Said that she needed to work higher on her demi-point and needed stronger arm technique. So all in all - SPOT ON!! LOL! I can't wait until Connor knows his Fling............ (lol!) October 20 Happy Birthday Mummy! As a tribute to your 63rd birthday I googled you! lol!
Do you know that 2,890 for "diane banks". (0.11 seconds) came up!! Pretty impressive Mummy!
And do you know that Princess Dianna's middle name was Frances too! Interesting fact for ya!
Love you!
xoxo
October 19 Made in HeavenWhen I was a teenager and my parents owned the video shop we would all have our 'favourite movies'. one of mine was Made in Heaven with Timothy Hutton. It had a blue cover and 2 babies on the front.
I loved that movie because it was so 'it can be done'-ish (hmm -interesting word there hey!) I also loved sooo much the song..
The movie was just on Movie Extra. Ive not seen it in, well, I would say at LEAST 10-15 years and low and behold, I not only could quote much of the movie but still knew the song by heart (imagine how we'd be with Labyrinth Peta!) "We Never Danced" Between heaven and earth There's a ballroom floor Where the couples glide In the evermore. Floating through the clouds Dancing in the rain Eyes that see no lies Hearts that feel no pain. Hope it's not too late We were more than friends I can hardly wait 'Til we meet again. If you don't really know Where you want to go It makes no difference Which road you take. Hope it's not too late We were more than friends I can hardly wait 'Til we meet again. We never danced We never danced We never danced the night away. We never danced We never danced We never danced the night away. October 18 She made it home safe and sound!!CJ had a lovely time at camp. Here is what she thought about it.....
The first day we went to a meeting room where everyone had to meet for meals and for talks. You had to wait in a line and wash your hands before you eat. After we had our meeting we got put into our groups. My group was Group 3 because it was Yr 3, except for Raven because there was an odd number.
We first went to the ropes course. When we first went there we watched the man. I was about the 5th person to go on. My partner was Lauren and she was very scared, but I wasn't scared. Lauren thought I would fall! First it's about 30cm off the ground and then it goes up and up to a platform and reach and undo the lock on you and then put it on the next one and say 'click lock squeeze' and Lauren had to say 'check' and then you got to go up into the highest part. It was one line and you had to walk straight with the safety lines behind you. I fell once at the last one on the zig zag in the middle - but it's ok because you have the safety line. At the end it goes up to about 10m off the ground. I loved it! After the ropes course we had afternoon tea and for food we had 2 fruits, 2 biscuits, 2 chocolates and one pop top and another few things.
We then went outside to the huge playground. They had big monkey bars and a swing set.
We also got to ride bikes on a bmx bike track and to practise zigzags and things.
For dinner we had chicken, pasta salad and a little bit of spaghetti.
Night activites were - the first one was a bush walk with Mrs Punch, the 2nd one was relaxation with Mrs Sheppherd. Third was drama and plays.and last we sat and used Mr Punch's special binoculars to see the stars. You could actually see the trees and leaves in front of the moon and all the dust.
We stayed up late and then we woke up about 8am. We had for breakfast nutrigrain, and I had 5 slices of toast!!
Our activities on the 2nd day were a day time bushwalk with Mr Phillips and we got to look at the mountain devil plant. You can squeeze it and have the nectar - it tastes a bit like honey. After the bushwalk we had morning tea and then we did archery. First I was in a group, then change to the 2nd group becuase I had to be with the other left hander! I loved archery. I got the arrow in the red circle. And I hit the yellow but it fell off and didnt stay in. I also got over a tree by accident!!
We went to macca's on teh way home and I got a nugget happymeal, cookies and icecream!!
I cant' wait until next year to go to another camp!!! October 16 SCHOOL TODAYAhh well, back to work today *sigh* And it's going to be 33deg! YIKes!!!
Ceilidh is off to school camp tonight. One night at Woolegai or something. Down past Camden.
She is so excited! Im a little scared!!! October 15 Darcy and Mummy! No work for me today! Yipee! No more Mondays (cept for Casual, and there may be a few of them lined up - will let you know Leanne, lol)
Darcy and I dropped the kids at school then went down to Westfields. She had her list in her bag! We looked for Nanna's present and for Daddy's present and we had donuts adn milkshakes. Then we walked some more and then I had my eyebrows waxed. Darcy told me 'you gotta stay reeeeeally still Mummy!'
THen we had some lunch and came home!! It was so nice!! Loved it! October 14 I like Aeroplane Jelly.....A few weeks ago Ceilidh received a letter to say she won a competition (through Total Girl) for a family pass to Aeroplane Jelly's 80th Birthday at Bankstown Airport. So off we trot this morning. Beautiful weather and only 15mins from home - BONUS!
IT WAS THE MOST WONDERFUL DAY!!!! They had rides for the kids, and food and the Hooly Doolys and the Aviation Museum was open and a volunteer took us around so the kids could have a go in all the planes.
And best of all - The kids won 2nd prize in JELLY IDOL!!! There were about 50 entries and they all had to sing the aeroplane jelly song! They won this huge box full of jelly and groceries, plus toys and books. We were sooo excited!! It was a really wonderful great way to end the holidays!!!

THE MAN WHO WROTE THE SONG (and him on the poster!) Having a go on the little plane!!
I am HOPING that the utube works here. October 13 Sunny SaturdayToday was nice, I got to take the kids to dancing, which usually only happens on the first Saturday of the term as my lessons dont go back until the end of the week whilst RGs week starts with the Saturday..
The kids have a new teacher because Miss J is pregnant and is only there as observer this term. The teacher's little girl is in the class, she is only 1 week younger than Darcy, and at the beginning of the year we had chats - she too is a school and dance teacher - small world~!
She said Dee did well in class today -so that was nice.
I took Con's dvd to show them (as requested) We arrived early so Miss J put it on in the waiting room and the few people that were there 'oohed and ahhed'! lol Con was oblivious to it all with the bloody gameboy in his hand!
He had Miss R for his solo today. I had warned him to work v hard with her. She told me she had never seen him do the dance as well as he did it for her in the room (thats cause when he does it in front of her it is with all the big kids watching and he goes all shy). Mr G came in during the lesson, right when he was doing his huge jackjumps (now touching the toes in those) and Con tried hard there too.
Miss R wants him to do his straddle stretch every day - just holding for 5 secs. I said about how tight he was and she said 'yes, thats because he is so muscly' I am looking forward to him being able to do a stretch class next year - he really needs it. He was v excited about doing his dance for Miss R, so I was happy about that.
The next eisteddfod for him (and for Dd) is in 2 weeks time.
Next week - back to dad taking the kiddlets (thank goodness for The Parents!) October 12 We went to the zoo with Nanna and Poppa yesterday! It was lovely - veyr very very hot though - phew!! Kids had a blast!
Darcy walked most of it, even though I took the big stroller. Ceilidh had been with school early in the year so she was really excited about things.
Connor was talking to the animals. I mean, he really really believes he was talking to the animals! He'd look at the turtle and go 'blriousdhf sldfoiue' and he'd come up to me and say "I told them not to swim near the crocodile!' lol! I took a wee video of it when he was speaking to one of the monkey's! Have it and lots of photos to post - later! Oh - interesting fact... Do you know, that if they run out of human blood it is quite ok to use chimp blood as a transfusion, just have to make sure it's the same blood type - FREAKUS! Don't know if Nan and Pop will be able to walk today.... October 11 Just Do It!Everybody's always talking at me Everybody's trying to get in my head I wanna listen to my own heart talking I need to count on myself instead Chorus: Did you ever?
