    The Things They Say.....

There were 2 funny convo's from my kids yesterday.

Firstly, Darcy came into bed with me at 6am and said 'come mummys bed me have bad dream!' Last night Connor wouldn't go to bed because he kept saying he was having bad dreams and Mark said to him 'you have to go to sleep to have a bad dream mate!' but big ears D was obviously listening!!

Then later this morning Connor was kissing my arm and then lying his check on where he had kissed and he said 'you know mummy if you kiss somewhere then you lie on it it makes the kiss much bigger!'

    HOW CUTE IS THAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    I can't believe this!!

Casey did this 'test' and her result was 'Cats' which, for those that know Casey will know that it is her DREAM to be the white cat in Cats. When she was 12 (I think it was 12, was it Case?) I took her to see Cats at Her Majestys. At intermission she said to me 'I am going to be in that show one day' and she was deadly serious! We then went and met them after the show and she said the same thing to the dancers!!

Anyway - I did the 'test' and this is what I got! For those that 'know' me - know that THIS WAS MY DREAM!!!!!!

    Busy weekend!!

Well, our weekend started Friday night, after I got home from work!

It was Mark's 38th Birthday Friday so we went out to Ctown Catholic Club for dinner. Going as well were heaps of familys from my mums group. It was a great dinner, they have a playground inside the club there -so the kids all played with each other (and Connor's head bled again because he fell off a tower of great heights!) Mark had a lovely saddle club candle on his cake (all I could find in the half hour I had to get everythign ready at home!) Then, at 9pm, us girls left the boys and the kids and we went to the other part of the club to watch "Travis Collins and the Whisky Train' It was an AWESOME night. I stumbled into home, paralatic at 2am!

Then I had to get up and 'try' to teach on Saturday morning, then race around, sending kids left right and centre to babysitters so that Mark and I could ride up the Wyong for my cousins wedding. The bike ride was awesome - but boy was my bum numb!

Then today we rode back to Castle Hill for the Gathering there. CJ got a 2nd, 3rd and 4th. Sarah got 6th in the championship, Ali won the 'Special Swords' and Kirstin got 3rd in it. Ashley got 2nd in her Beginners Swords and Catherine, at her first competition, scooped the Beginners Point Score! So a pretty successful day for the kids!!

It was lovely to see my children again, but to try to explain to them at 7pm tonight why they had to go to bed. BUT IT"S STILL LIGHT OUTSIDE MUMMY!!!' The tears and the tantrums were terrible. And, at 8pm, Darcy is STILL up, she has been put to bed countless times but is tall enough now to open the door and get out!

Shall attach photos of Marky when Mandy sends them to me!

    my grade one ballerina..

Cj had her ballet exam today. She was a 'big girl' this year. No curly hair or socks or sleeved leotard. Tights, bun and a strappy leotard with the elastic around the waist were the go. Plus the character part.

She said it was good. She has been very happy all day -a nd was quite ok about going to school afterwards because she got to take a Sundae from McDonalds for recess! lol!

    A sobering day

You don't realise how much your big girls mean to you, until you hear of a shocking story like I heard yesterday.

I have 3 dancers in Year 11 at school. They often speak to each other about how school is going, how their subjects are going. They sometimes miss lessons because they have an exam the next day. In fact, now they are in Year 12, because as of term 4, Yr 11 students are called Yr 12 students.

I have had other girls go through my school whilst doing their HSC. Ive seen them get stressed and upset and Ive seen how much dancing is a release for them, and I have hoped that it is.

CJs dancing school have been touched by a terrible tragedy.

One of their top top dancers, who won the Australians this year was supposed to start her HSC on Friday. For whatever reason, she could not do it, and ended her life.

I didnt know her personally, although I am sure I have bumped into her in the hallways, if not when CJ has been at lessons, then when Casey was, as Case danced with her big sister.

It has shocked me to the core, but it really hit home this morning when my 'big girls' arrived for their dancing lesson. I looked at them and thought 'OMG, what are you really thinking in your minds, about school and life in general'. So I had a good talk to them and explained about how there is so much more to life than school exams and what is going on at 17.

RIP LILY I hope you are still dancing.....

    The 3 R's

Song by Jack Johnson, a Hawaiian songwriter and surfer. This song is awesome - I want to get a copy of the music so that I can use it for school.

    Three it’s a magic number
Yes it is, it’s a magic number
Because two times three is six
And three times six is eighteen
And the eighteenth letter in the alphabet is R

We got three R’s we’re going to talk about today
    We’ve got to learn to

    Reduce, Reuse, Recycle
    Reduce, Reuse, Recycle
    Reduce, Reuse, Recycle
    Reduce, Reuse, Recycle

If you’re going to the market to buy some juice
You’ve got to bring your own bags and you learn to reduce your waste

And if your brother or your sister’s got some cool clothes
You could Try them on before you buy some more of those
Reuse, we’ve got to learn to reuse

And if the first two R’s don’t work out And if you’ve got to make some trash
    Don’t throw it out
Recycle, we’ve got to learn to recycle,

    We’ve got to learn to
    Reduce, Reuse, Recycle
    Reduce, Reuse, Recycle
    Reduce, Reuse, Recycle
    Reduce, Reuse, Recycle

Because three it’s a magic number
Yes it is, it’s a magic number

    3, 3, 3
    3, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18, 21, 24, 27, 30, 33, 36
    33, 30, 27, 24, 21, 18, 15, 12, 9, 6, and

    3, it’s a magic number

    work work work

Well, usually my working week (as in paid work!) would be finished now.. However, I got some casual work for Wednesday and Friday this week at my base school.

I am not looking forward to working 4 days this week, but my bank balance will love it come pay day!

I was at the staff meeting this afternoon and they were saying what a terrible shortage of casuals there are atm. Here it is, 2nd day of the term and the teacher spent 2 hours on the phone last night trying to get a casual for today.

So I walked over to her with my number and said 'i can do Wed and Fri's) she looked at me and said 'You work here dont you?' 'Yes, Im one of the IST-H's, but I only work M&T, i need some money to get ready for xmas, so if you need someone, let me know, but please give me as much notice as possible so I can organise babysitting.'

She looked at me, looked at our boss (standing next to her) and said 'Can you work on my 1/2 composite on Friday'!' Yes! I said!! Then an hour later my mobile rings 'Can you work on Martin's 5/6 composite tomorrow!'

    "Umm - YES!!!'

So I have been scouring the net for lessons tonight. Geez there are some wonderful sites out there!

Found some great stuff on the Harbour Bridge, some really good maths sheets, and Im gonna do  procedural text I did with my Yr 6 girl today.

So I HOPE the class are nice tomorrow and I dont spend the day doing 'crowd control'

    and

BRING ON PAY DAY!!!! I can stop avoiding the phone when it says 'private number' cause I will have paid the overdue bills! Lol!

OMG Im gonna be stuffed tomorrow night though, I start private lessons at 3.45 and dont finish teaching until 9pm! So school all day and dancing all night!! WahhhhH!!!!

SO LETS HOPE THAT MY STARS ARE RIGHT FOR TOMORROW CAUSE THEY SAY........

    Prologue

After my blog late last night, of my horoscope for today, I came in, watched tv for a while and then went to bed.

I picked up the book Ive just started to read and found the prologue amazingly uncanny after my horoscope....

Time is a lot of the things people say that God is.
There's the always preexisting, and having no end.
There's the notion of being all powerful - because nothing can stand against time, can it?
    Not mountains, not armies.

And time is, of course, all-healing.
Give anything enough time, and everything is taken care of:
all pain encompassed, all hardships erased, all loss subsumed.

Ashes to ashes, dust to dust.
Remember, man, that thou aret dust; and unto dust thou shalt return.

And if Time is anything akin to God,
I suppose that Memory must be the Devil.....

When My Baby....When My Baby Sings In Borders Everyone Giggles.....

We had a lovely arvo yesterday.

Connor had a birthday party to go to a Macarthur Square at 4.15, so we all trundled out there, left Con at the party and went for a walk around the shops. Then I went back with Darcy to the party so she could have a play (after they had finished the party food  - so she didnt invite herself over to that part) Then Mark and Ceilidh arrived back and we all sat there for 20mins.

After the party we went downstairs to the outside playground and they played for another hour out there. It is right outside of Borders Books. So Mark went in for a browse first, and then I did.

CJ said she wanted to 'go into the library' and I said that we would all go in and have a look around before we headed home.

First stop for her was over at the cds. You put the headphones on and you can listen to the albums they have up on display.

They had 'Peter Allen' So I put it on track 11 - Rio, and turned it up full ball.

Got CJ to sit down and put the head phones on her.......

Her head jerked up as soon as she head what it was, and there was this great big beam on her face and her feet were tapping. Whilst this was happening Connor, of course, wanted to have a go. So I moved a metre over, to the next aisle, where there was another one. I was setting him up with a Madonna album when suddenly I hear - shouted to the roof tops------

WHEN MY BABY WHEN MY BABY SMILES AT ME I GO TO RIO DIJENARO MY O ME OH...etc etc etc

I RUN over to her to quieten her down-but it was too late. I look around the shop and there are about 10 faces popping out over bookshelves and around pillars, looking to see what the noise was!! THEY WERE PISSING THEMSELVES!!!!!! And the more they realised that it was a 7 year old girl sitting there singing, the more they laughed. It was sooo funny!!!!

Thankfully, CJ wasn't that embarrased (amazingly!) and laughed it off too!!!

Meanwhile - Connor was 'striking a pose' on the other headphones - so I had to go and put a stop to that too!!
