January 30 Friday is Connor Bonnor DayThese are photos of Con from the wonderful Kooks ! Thankyou my friend!! I can't believe my darling little man is going to be 7 in just over 2 months. He still loves his cuddles and continuously kisses me or rubs my arm or just snuggles up to me. He is such a mummys boy.
When these photos were taken he was going through a very very very naughty stage. A stage so naughty that it's embarrassing to write about. The definance and rudeness he was displaying, not just to me - but to other adults was mortifying and I was so cranky with him.
We had big long talks about his behaviour, and his DS was confiscated for a week and he stood here next to the computer whilst I googled 'where do you send Naughty Griffith Children.' (he was sobbing as I googled it!) He is much better this past week or so, I say to him now 'I've asked you once Connor" or 'That's twice Connor - you can turn the tv off now, or give meyour ds nor, or go to your room now'' It ends in lots of tears - but it seems the message is getting through. He has been doing his jobs around the house; emptying the dishwasher (thanks for planting that one Sal!), tidying his room, cleaning off the train table. So we will see what happens! January 29 Toofless tewaaaCon has lost another tooth!
He actually lost it on Tuesday when he was at Leanne's. His tooth had an altercation with Jacob's face!! (or was it his fist Leanne?)
They were playing rumbles and out popped the wobbly tooth (almost - Leanne had to pull it the last bit as it was hanging on by a thread!)
So 2 teeth gone in less than a week! LOL January 28 First Day of School 2009!Well, the kiddlets went back to school today.
Sortof kinda...
They all got up early, and Con was complaining of having a sore eye - I ignored him, made their brekkie.
I got into the shower and when I got out they were done with brekkie, had them come up to the bathroom to get the aussie tattoo's off their cheeks. Con complained again - but I thought he was just whinging after the Eucalyptus Oil had made his eyes watery. So I ignored him - told them to get dressed.
Then he started sobbing and wailing and I realised - oh dear - I think he's sick!!
At this stage it was 8.10am so I gave him some nurofen and told him to lie down on my bed and hopefully he would feel better after 20mins or so.
He chucked instead!! So - here are photos of my children on their first day of school - although Ceilidh was the only one who actually went! Connor spent the day at mum and dads - he went back to sleep and didnt wake until midday! Migrane was gone by then.
Darcy had her first day at her new daycare today. I have had to pull her out of Bradbury on a Wednesday as I can't fit it into the dancing timetable! LOL
She is going to a new one around the corner from home - which, although not a brilliant as Bradbury, does have benefits - close to home, will meet kids that she will go to big school with, is cheap, will hvae a nap during the day ready for dancing that arvo. She will still go to Bradbury on a Tuesday.
Ceilidh has Mrs Clarke. She is in Senior Celestial! (All the classes are named after space things as it is the year of astronomy). She is happy about that - although she is sitting next to the WORSE BOY IN THE SCHOOL!! (it is a 5/6 composite). Mum and I had to explain to her that Mrs C would have put CJ next to him because she is a good girl and can't be distracted! Mrs Clarke's daughter was one of Cons friends last year.
Connor got a new teacher named 'Miss Griffin' (LOL). I went down and met her and explained that Con was away.
Darcy had a lovely day, she waved me goodbye and kissed me hello!
(look at poor Boy in the photos.... I am such a BAD NASTY MOTHER!)
January 26 Australia Day!We have just returned from our wonderful Aussie Day celebrations at Sydney Harbour.
I haven't been to the Harbour for Australia Day for yeeeearrrs! I remember vividly going in 1988, our Bicentennary. I went with my cousin, Elizabeth. But since then, we have done local Aussie Day things or other city ones, but not the city.
This year however, I took the kids in for the Celtic Australia Day Festival. It was literally UNDER the Harbour Bridge - on the North Side. They had a highland competition in the morning..
Here are some shots of our great day!
OH - and we took 'Flat Ashlinn' in with us and had photos with her too! Who says Boy can't turn his knees out?! lol (he was threatened so much to do it!)

At 10am it was 34deg At midday it was 37.8 At 1.40pm it was 39.4 And at 3.46 it was 40.3 ARGGHHHHHH!!!!!!! January 22 Flat Ashlinn! Many years ago - in fact over 10 years ago, I met a friend online from America. It was under tragic circumstances that we became friends. Her daughter was stillborn the day before Rowan, with the same condition that they think Rowan had - Trisomy 18. We met on an online support board.
Over the past decade Cindy and I have kept in touch. She has two beautiful daughters, Jordy, who is 15 (Arggh!) and Ashlinn who is 9 (or 8, can't remember exactly!)
Each year Christmas emails and/or cards are exchanged and it's nice to have this penfriend who Ive grown with iykwim.
Cindy and her family live in New Orleans, and I was so worried about them when Katrina hit. I couldn't get in contact with them and I didnt know enough about thier personal life to be able to find them. Thankfully, about 2-3months later a general email came from Cin, to all her contacts to say they were all ok (although their house was guttered) and that they were finally going to be moving back to New Orleans sometime soon.
Well, they are back there now, in their house, and all is back to life in general. I recieved an email from Cindy a few days ago, asking a favour. Ashlinn is in Year 3 and they are doing a project on different cultures and countries around the world. They had to make a paper puppet of themselves (a bit like Flat Stanley) and had to email it to someone who lives far away. That person takes photos with it at landmarks or tourist attractions and sends those photos back to the school, then the puppet on to someone else in another far away place. Cindy asked if I would mind her sending it to me!
I was stoked!! I just wish we had had Flat Ashlinn before we left the beach house!! So we will take Ashlinn to the city on Australia Day, get some poses with her in front of the Opera House and Harbour Bridge - waving the Aussie Flag!!, take her to dancing and have her doing the splits with the kids! (Big Ashlinn dances too - so that will be funny!). And then, I will send her to Casey and hopefully Case can take her to Heidelberg Castle for the day!! ;D Maybe Case can then send her on to England to Tabitha (if you don't mind Tabitha?) and she can have a couple of old English shots!! Then maybe Tab can post her up to Scotland to one of my friends there... The possibilities are endless and I'm finding it quite exciting planning her trip! LOL Flat Ashlinn has to be back in America on the 25th April. So as soon as Australia Day is over I must post her off to Deutchland! Oh - I might send her over to Jacquie in Perth and/or Ngaire in Tassie first! ;D
I shall post pix of the kids and Flat Ashlinn as soon as I've taken some! LOL January 21 We have had a wee visitor to the hoose!!in the shape of the TOOTH FAIRY!!!
Connor lost his first tooth yesterday!!! Much excitement all round!!! We were at Summerschool and it was the morning tea break. He was chomping into some fruit and 'whammo' out it came!!
It was very special to have all his friends around him making lots of noise about it all!!
It was so ready to come out, and there was only a little blood, but hwne he rang Mark to tell him he said 'Dad - there was blood EVERYWHERE!!' Here are some pix - plus his happy face at the $$ the fairy left!!! January 20 Just to make Peta feel bad...This isn't to make Sally feel guilty (she who sms'd me last night still worried! lol)
Connor has a lump the size of a sultana on the side of his nose when it tried to do battle with Sam's sword! It's still there after 2 days. I'm not making anything of it to him as he only complains when he touches it -but it's quite tender to touch. So Peta - dont be mean and make comments about how you want to often stick things up your nephews nostril! That's not nice!!!! He loves you! He has such a cute little nose - I don't like to see it all lumpy!!
No more sword play allowed!! ;p January 19 De-Fa!!It's my D-fa-Dad's birthday today!!!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY DADDY!!!!
We took he and mum to Macca's for brunch this morning, not very exciting or exotic - but the kids were able to play and we were able to have real coffee's - so that's always a bonus!!! :D
I meant to take a photo of dad today, but forgot!! So here is some from Callala a few weeks ago!!
January 18 Parties and Playing and Plastic things!!Today has been busy> We have just walked in the door at 9pm, and we left at 9am this morn!!
Firstly we went to Peta's place for a tupperware party. That was good fun, and the time just flew. Then we left (late) and raced to Campbelltown for Sam's 7th birthday party at Hungry Jacks. I left kids there whilst I dashed up to the square to get some singlets for Connor for the RG summerschool starting Tuesday.
After the party we headed back to Sals house for a special 'family' party for Sam (plus us!!) It's amazing Sal would have us after Connors shocking behaviour there last week. *sigh*
All the kids played well tonight - cept Connor wailing the house down when Sams sword went up his nostril (we think!)
January 17 CJ Play DayThe other day we had our Clique catch up and tupperware party. The wonderful Kooks was there and took a plethora of photos again - THANKYOU KYLIE!!
![]() This is my Ceilidh Jo post. Ceilidh is growing into a very fun loving vivacious girl. We are not seeing the moody self-doubting CJ of 12months ago. I hope she continues to grow into this amazing wonderful funny creature who makes me laugh and cry! Someone once told me that those girls who are moody shits as young ones miss that whole moody stage as teenagers - hmmm - wouldnt THAT be nice!!!! ;P The following pictures are of her perfecting her HSM3 "The BOys Are Back" tumble roll!! When we were at YUMUM last week Connor did it - and all the kids loved it! So CJ was on a mission to nail it on Tuesday - and she had someone there who could photograph the proof that she did!! January 16 Hughy Doppleganger!Today was I was coming home froM Ballina. It's a tiny country airport and it doesn't have a 'departures' section as such - just a walled off security bit. So, in order to get through to the walled off bit you have to line up and go through the xray machine - a long snail line.
So, I was in the line waiting and noticed a few people in front of me was someone I thought I knew. I thought 'he looks familiar, where do I know him from?' and then I dismissed it.
So, we go into the departures bit and Im sitting on a chair and this same bloke is a few chairs away with some of his friends. I was reading and I looked up towards them as I heard them laughing about something. As I looked up, the bloke was looking towards his friend, and therefore in my direction. He was laughing and OMG OMG OMG - he was the SPIT of Hugh Jackman. My heart almost stopped!!! SERIOUSLY!! I am sure my jaw hit the floor! (no wonder I thought I 'knew' him earlier!)
Well, I then did everything possible to stare in his direction! ROFL!! I would 'look at the planes behind' "look as if I was reading the departure board' etc etc. And every time I kept thinking 'OMG, he HAS to be a relation - he is seriously the imagine of Hughy, just a bit shorter and younger.'
So, then it was time to board the plane and I was thinking 'Please let me sit behind him so I can perve the whole 80min flight to Sydney'
AND I WAS 2 ROWS BEHIND!! PERFECT! LOL!
My book didn't get opened - I had a much more worthwhile way to waste the time!!!!! I had messaged my friends to tell them and Sally writes back 'get a picture!!'
Well, its a bit obvious to take a photo when you're on a little cessna plane with only 60 seats on it! BUt I did my best!! The photo's not great, I wish I could have gotten him smiling - when his eyes crinkled up and it was more Hugh-like! OMG - Im such a stalker!! Here is wee Hughy clone...... January 15 Escaping the heat - I hope!I'm just about to jump in a shower and then head off to the airport for my 24 hour trip up to the Nth NSW Coast. I'm teaching an exam workshop there this arvo.
I'm really NOT sad about leaving Sydney today - they're saying it will be early 40's in the West - argghhh! Poor Mark is having 2 teeth surgically removed this arvo, and then has to come home and feel rotten in this horribly hot oven of a house. Kids are all farmed out to friends for the night. One has a pool - both have a/c. lucky! It is supposed to be hitting the early 30's in Ballina, which will be hot enough for a dance workshop. HOping that the hall has air conditioning. But at least, being at Ballina, there will hopefully be a sea breeze!
Better run! January 14 Just call me Eliza.....January 13 D D Dancing....Darcy was beyond excitement all day today.
She had her very first lesson with Carolyn.
Last night she got all her dancing clothes ready, she wanted to put her pumps on, then and there, but thankfully, I talked her out of it!!
She talked about which leotard she would wear and how her hair would be done!
She told everyone today, when we were out, that she had her first highland lesson (mine dont count!). She seemed to go well, she was a little naughty with Connor (which I expected) and apparently at one point, Carolyn wanted her up again to do her shedding and she told Carolyn 'ive already done it, I dont want to do it again' to which Carolyn said 'Badluck!' lol!!
Here she is before she went in!!
January 12 Dee's funny definitionsI remember doing a similar post about Con about 2 years ago.
Dee has been coming out with some doozies the last few weeks. We had 'Nuttin for Xmas' which meant you got NUTS for xmas. Then Dee and Con were looking at some drink or something the other day and Connor read it and said 'Diet, why is it diet mummy, what is diet' Dee says 'It's when you change the colour isn't it Mummy, like when you diet your hair!' LOL LOL LOL! Con says 'Nahh - it's something to do with food I think?' It was so cute listening to them!! |
