January 31 CJs workshopOn the long weekend CJ and I went up to Bathurst for the Ozscot workshop.
CJ tried very hard (for her!) throughout the weekend and I was very proud. She seemed to be alot more mature and focused than she has been before. A few of the teachers, both international and Australian commented on how hard she tried in class.
At the end of the weekend they gave encouragement awards to the most promising and CJ got it for her group. Sarah got it for hers too! I was very proud of them both! In fact I was proud of all my kiddlets that went up. They were absolutely beautifully behaved. They tried very hard and were a credit to themselves and to me. Here is a photo of them with Mr Grant, who did a motivational workshop on the first day. Plus the photos of CJ and Sarah being silly after receiving their awards!
January 30 Another School Year Begins...Miss Ceilidh and Master Connor were very excited to get back to school today. Ceilidh asked me 'why do we always have the photo in the front yard Mummy?' I said 'so we can see how big you are each year when you start school!' I will have to show her her kindy photo so she can see where she is on the tree (mind you, the treee has grown too! lol)
I lost Con as soon as we got to school. He found his best mate, Nikhill and they were off! CJ sat with me and then Lauren and some other girls came over to talk to her and they had a lovely time.
COnnor is in the 1/2 gifted and talented composite - his teacher is Miss Amiet, which is a bit of a concern as she didnt really like him last year -but tough love will do him good (as long as the joy he has for school isnt stiffled). CJ was a little upset as there was noone in her class she knew. She was the only one from her class to be in 4KP. But she was ok, I siad she would make friends very quickly.
Here are few shots..
(Dee was in bad mood, didnt want photo - but I made her go in for it! Mean mother I am! I'll get the blame in years to come about why she wasn't in the shot!)
Ceilidh is standing if 1st pos - good dancing girl that she is! lol! I didnt tell her to. Yes, she has a mark on the front of her uniform! Milk from her brekkie. It was dry by school time, but not when I did the photos. It looks like Con is picking his nose, he's not! He just has his finger up to show he is in Year One! I cut his hair last night. It's a hack job, but I couldnt get into any hairdresser or barber yesterday arvo and I wanted it short for school. Its short and uneven lol! But in a fortnight it should be fine! I shouldnt have listened to him when he told me 'shorter on top Mummy!'
The last photo Im glad I got - although both of them were embarrassed when i took it "oh, HURRY UP Mummy!' I got!
The grass is looking alot greener than 12 months ago first day photos!
January 29 Connor and Brodie !!
Connor was trying to help Brodie stretch - and this was the result......
A bit later the girls (who were fighting over Con) both gave him a kiss at the same time. These photos are priceless. There's the kiss - and then the next photo shows you who he chose! The meanie, breaking peoples hearts!
He just likes the older women, he ignores them if they are younger than him (even though they tower over him! lol) January 28 Darcy's LoveDee Dee is funny. Dad said to her today 'How much do you love me?" and she said 'Just a little bit". And then a bit later she was running out of the room and he said 'But you love me!' and she said 'Yeah, but not alot!'
Poor POPPA!!!! January 27 me doin the hoon!We are up in Bathurst 4 the weekend 4a highland workshop.its brilliant! Not just the workshop but the location. Its being held at Bathurst Goldfields, which is literally on Conrod Strait at Mt Panorama! Now im no rev head, far from it! But even I was agog as we did a lap of the circuit! January 26 Aussie Aussie Aussie Oi Oi OiWhat is Australia Day?
CJ - A long time ago some soldiers went out to war and they died, and now they have Australia day and they go to where their grave is and it's something to do with all the war and the soldiers that die.
When I told her - " I think you are talking about Anzac Day?" her response was "oh yeah, I got confused!!"
OH DEAR!! Thankfully, Year 4 are supposed to do 'Australia - Colonisation and Exploration' - she needs it! Well after her saying that I decided to google 'Australia Day' and found a website called www.australiaday.com.au On the website was a cross word for kids - so I asked CJ the questions - her answers were hillarious!!! (embarassing though!) And she would certainly fail the citizenship test! Thank goodness she was born here! I think she got about 3 right, with no help, and another 3 right with little hints! UMMAH!! I will have to make sure I re-test her next Aussie Day! Across 1. Aboriginal musical instrument. CJ - oh oh that long thing that goes 'boooo boooo' (connor who was listening said 'Oh - Wood' 3. Blanket roll of light bedding. CJ - umm, bed? 5. Product made by Kraft, a favourite of many Australians. CJ - Vegemite (after the hint 'it is black and you put it on toast) 8. She will insist on playing with other children and putting her head right up next to theirs!! lol!
So - we've all been exterminated as of today - our hair has anyway!
I couldn't find any in CJ's hair or in mine (although of course I was scratching like blazes all night after Leanne told me!) Maybe the frontline is still working for CJ?? I never did Darcy, she was too young.
Leanne checked Boy and he hasn't gotten any either. So perhaps Darcy picked them up at Summer School on Tuesday or Lollipops on Monday and didnt have a chance to give them to anyone else.... One can only hope!
But I've let the friends we were with know, and the dancing teacher know. Headlice is something that is almost 'normal' in kids -but what I hate is when someone finds out their kid has them and they dont tell you so you can treat your kid. So yes, I swallowed the embarassment and sent a msg out to say DD had insects in her hair! And i looked up KP24 website and found out the best way of using the treatment. Even though on the box it says 'wet hair first' on their site it says to put it on dry hair. So did all that. And need to treat them again in 7 days.
Trip to the vet today to get some frontline for the dog and for the children!!! January 24 Give me a pillow and a comfy lounge....I'm soooo tired. I knew this would happen and I'm glad that it's happening this week not next week but IM SO TIRED!!
The kids are so tired too! (thought I'd better mention them, they are after all the ones dancing every day!)
Weve been up at 7.30 for the past 3 days, out of the house by 8.20-8.30 and at RG until 5pm. Then home, fed, bath, bed. They were in bed by 8 last night (although Connor was still awake at 9.15 and he's always up before 7.30).
My only worry is that Im away at Bathurst this weeknd for Ozscot. CJ and I will still be up early etc but I think that Mark will let the kids go to bed late and sleep in etc and they will get out of the routine that we have started.
This time next week - school - arrgghhhHH! January 23 sneezles and wheezlesIve had an attack of the sneezes for 3 days now. I don't usually sneeze alot - mum makes up for it - she sneezes enough for the whole family. But these past few days Ive been aichoooing all the time. Connor has a bit too and I hear another little girl at dancing today have a sneezing attack.
So I dont know if it's a cold coming on or perhaps something in the air. Bloody annoying tho! January 22 RG - WOWeeeeeeThe RG summer school started today - kids are really enjoying it. Dee \just LOVED her preschool lesson and Connor and Kaiesha enjoyed their classes. They got to do contemporary with Little Miss Bec. Con loved it! lol! Connor and Kaiesha were in different groups, Con was with mostly performance group kids. When he arrived he saw Moo and raced up to her and said 'Moo Moo Moo' and they almost touched noses! lol. Then he made friends with a little girl who was 8 & in his session (her older sister was in CJ and Leilani's group). Ive decided he just likes older women!
Ceilidh and Leilani were having a blast too. CJ was a bit down after acro - but their groups were just split into 1,2,3 so she had some really great gymnasts in there with her. She really enjoyed the contemporary class too. I had to leave before she and L were finished as I had to get Con to Carolyns by 5. Kaiesha is sleeping here tonight and CJ is staying with Leilani.
Oh, I went up to reception to ask if I could see a timetable. They said 'its not ready yet, but you have yours dont you?' I said 'yes, I was just a bit confused with D, I thought that Miss Bec had perhaps put her in the wrong thing as she has down PreJnr Jazz and Tap not Future Stars' I was told 'No, that's right, Darcy can't be in Future Stars again this year, she is too advanced for that!' OMG! The kid is not even 3 and a half! So she's in that one, Connor is in PreJnr Advanced as well as performance group and CJ is doing contempory this year.
(BTW - atm K and D are upstairs playing and Connor asked to watch HighSchool Musical2. I just looked over at him and he is up on the floor copying the routine for Summer time!)
January 21 Guess What!!My baby sister is coming home!!!!!
Not for good - but for 2 months!!!
Im soOoOoOoOoOoO excited!! She and her darling hubby arrive in July. Danman can only be here for a few weeks, he has to get back to uni. But Case-Base is staying until September!! WOOHOOO!
Funny thing today. Connor was telling friends that Casey and Danman were coming home and then he looked at me and said 'what is his real name?' LOL! January 20 Girls Day and Party NightYesterday when we were at Billy Darcy had a girls day with Peta. They did some painting and they did their nails and she had a lovely time.
Peta brought her back to mum and dads and the kids and Mark went down for cake time and to sing happy birthday. (I stayed home and cooked dinner) Here are some photos of the party.
January 19 sixty six clickity click! To celebrate Peta and I bought he an Mum tickets to Billy Elliot. Becuase they were SUCH a good deal I actually got 7 of them, and Mark, Ceilidh, Connor, Jacob and Myself went (Darcy had a girls day with Peta).
It was great. We had Lochlan and he was wonderful - but no where near as good as Rhys. A completely different style and no much ballet at all. But brilliant non the less.
After the show we went around to the stage door and Jacob got quite a few of the casts autographs. Ceilidh loved it - she and Jacob sat enraptured throughout the performance. Ceilidh sat up and concentrated during every dance bit. Whenever it was tap she sat forward and stared at the feet! She loved the song with MIchael and Billy and got all embarrased when they dressed up in the mums clothes!
Jacob cried in 'The Letter' (I knew he would, I gave him tissues!) I knew he'd 'get it' with that song. I had heard about how the entire cast of children bawled their eyes out in the wings on the dress rehearsal when that song was on.
Connor loved it too. When Billy did tricks and stuff Con would say 'Oh cool!' When electricity came on he started singing and it was very hard to quieten him down! At the end, after curtain call and lights up he looked at me and said 'That was brilliant' He went up to Nanna and Poppa and said 'I loved it!'
Funny bit - he put his fingers in his ears during the exceptionally foul languaged song! He laughed and repeated the dad who said to Billy 'He's a fruit!' (lol!) and then when Debbie says to Billy 'I'll show you my fanny' Connor turns to me and says 'What is that Mum?' Oh dear! "I'll tell you later." i said - and I certainly wont! lol!
He thought it was very funny when they would get hit in the crouch - typical boy! When we were around at the stage door he couldn't keep still. Kept doing cartwheels and fancy footwork. More than one person said to me 'Billy Elliot in the Making!'
January 18 LUCKY CJ!Ceilidh said to me today "I have had THE BEST holiday Mummy!' and she certainly has!!
We were down at the beach house for 10 days after Christmas where she got to ride her bike everywhere (something she can't do at home) and swam at the beach at least once a day, if not twice. Plus our very good friends came down and stayed for 2 days - so the kids got to show of 'their' beach house and enjoy the company! She is a little water babe, my Ceilidh Jo. She is always the first in and the last out (even when there is a stingray in there with us!) Then we got back and she had just under a week at home. That consisted of 2 dance outs where she got paid to dance and was treated as the special guest, a sleepover at her Marry Boys house, Trips to the bike track and bowling, a HSM singstar night and a birthday party- so all in all a very busy 6 days.
And then, on Saturday she went to stay down at her dancing friends camping holiday! I picked her up Wednesday and she couldn't stop raving. Greer (her little friend) said to me 'I think that Ceilidh had a terrible time while she was away with us, don't you Justine?'! LOL! They swam EVERY day again, they rode their bikes, they did plaster painting. Basically for the entire day light hours they did not stop! Then they fell into bed at about 8.30pm and were asleep in minutes!
So I can see why she has had such a wonderful holiday!!! And tomorrow we are all going to Billy Elliot for Daddy's 66th birthday! (all except DeeDee, she is having a 'girls day' with Peta - Jacob is coming on her ticket)
I have a great photo here of CJ making rissoles with Greer, but I have to be able to scan it. I'll use Mums scanner and stick it up. Here are a few lovely ones of her and one of her besties, Leilani, over these holidays
January 17 CHAMP!!!!Today we had Baulkham Hills Eisteddfod. Connor was entered in the Babies 6&U jazz section. He danced very well and he got Highly Commended. Then, whilst we were there Mandy said that there was a Babies Championship on and that we could perhaps enter the children as late entries. I went up to the table and yes, they accepted the entry. So - he did his FUNKY MUSIC again - AND HE WON!!! He was sooo serious on the stage. The competitors stood up there on stage whilst they called out the winners. Kaiesha stepped forward and received her trophy for 3rd prize (WELL DONE K! YOU DANCED BRILLIANTLY!), the child stepped forward to receive 2nd prize and then they called Boy's number out for 1st. He took the trophy from the judge, stood there and bowed! LOL!
It was hillarious!!!
He got off the stage and came racing up to me saying 'Mummy, are you proud of me'. "Yes Darling" I said, whilst the tears were welling in my eyes!!
His first report said "I love your hairdo! Good start to your routine. Excellence sense of timing for one so young. I love your muscles! Good use of body movements. Excellent use of props. Good Boy 72 Marks"
Then, in the championship his report said "An even better start this time! I love the colours in your hair. I think we are seeing a little bit more of your dance this time. Good use of face. Excellent split jumps. Love your body movements. Excellent guitar playing. Thankyou for dancing for me. Good boy! 77 Marks"
WHAT A GREAT START TO THE DANCING YEAR!!!!! (this photo is from my phone, Mandy has more on her camera, which I will post asap.)
AS YOU CAN SEE - HE DANCED WITHOUT A SHIRT!!!!!!!!!!! My muscly little mannie!!
January 16 Its Sad When......Your 3 year old hands you a harmonica and asks 'Mummy, how do you turn this on?!' January 15 Billy Elliot - 2015When we went to Mandy's the other day we had a really lovely time. The kids played singstar, hide and seek, catch and kiss (we soon stopped that one) and dancing shows. we were outside, near dusk and were playing the songs on our phones and the kids were making up dances to them. Mandy went first, and her songs were funky, popular tunes and the kids went wild with their moves. Then CJ said 'your songs now Mummy' and so they then danced to Moulin Rouge, Boy from Oz and Billy Elliot!
When it came time to do "Electricity" from Billy Elliot Connor took centre stage - sort of! He was very cute, and Mandy videoed it on her phone whilst I was 'holidng hte music player'. We laughed so much at the antics of the kids.
When you have watched the video once through, if you can bare it, watch it again - and watch the girls......
I just watched it again and I choked I laughed so much. I decided to make a conscious effort on watching the 'backing dancers' THEY ARE HILLARIOUS! There's the whole 'fight' between Brodie and Kaiesha over Connor, and how he tries to sneak away with Brodie.THere's CJ and Leilani doing their best to dance around - and copying each other. And Dee just prancing about left right and centre! THen we have poop camp and wedgie shots. Oh it was sooo funny!!
As well as doing the dance routines, they also did jumps off the trampoline - see awesome photos below!!!!
January 14 Computer still dead - but house is looking cleaner!Well here I am, down at the parents house, using their computer, and i hate it!! It is soooo slow, and it has a weird screen set up - so that you have to move everything over to type and see things - BUT at least they HAVE a computer!!
Mark is at home at the moment, trying to set up his laptop from work with our internet access. I wil only be abloe to use it at night - but still, better than noffin!
Mr Chris - the computer man did think that it was only the memory card - but alas, it seems much much more than that, and Ive not heard from him today at all.
But, the good thying about all of this is that I had no distractions today when I started FINALLY putting away the christmas decorations and presents that have been strune around the house for the past 3 weeks.
Connor and Darcy were very very good. They wen into their play room and cleaned it up. The other day I got rid of 14 bags of clothers/toys for St Vinnies from that rom!! FORTEEN!! That is disgusting!! But to anyone else they wouldnt think I had done that, it still looked like a pigsty. So the kids were in there for over an hour today, and then I went in and finished it all off and put things away in their proper spots. I also cleaned out the fridge - EWWW YUCK. And I threw out all of Marks old magazines and put all his motorbike sh!t in the trunk. He gets home this arvo and NOT A WORD does he say about all the work that we have done! I am SOOO cranky!!
So I fed the kids and left him there on the phone to optus whilst I came down here to check my emails and blog. January 13 Great Gay Getaway!Peta thinks that the Melbourne Crowd think she and I are lesbians! She feels we are being watched and that is the reason! lol (I just htink it's cause we're two fat mammas!)
Last night we had the FUNNIEST experience!!
After the show we went looking for food. We are staying just near China town and there was a restaurant with 3 girls standing outside waving their menus saying 'come in come in' so we did. Those 3 Girls multiplied to 5, and then to 8. There were little chinese girls everywhere, and they all seemed to be serving us! As soon as we finished a plate - bang they were tehre. Well Peta had had a few drinks by then, and got a fit of the giggles! Her laughing made me laugh (I was tipsy - she was pissey) and it just got funnier and funnier. I have photos of us in front of the restuarant. After that we came back here and watched Nanny Diaries until 2.30am and then bed until 9.30 this morn.
Brekkie then here to blog then car to airport and home!!!! LOVELY WEEKEND AWAY!!!!!!! January 12 Melbourne!I am typing this from Rydges in Melbourne. Just got back from SPAMALOT!! It was great - except for rude stick insect next to Peta, smelly breathed man behind me and ignorant usher at end of show!!! Some very funny parts. I enjoyed watching the 'plagerised' bits, like the knights that say ni and bring out your dead, but I really really cacked myself in the new extra bits theyhad in it!!
THANKYOU PEETIE PEETIE PUMPKIN EATIE for bringing me down here to see it!!
We arrived at Avalon airport at 2.10pm and it was going to cost us $54 EACH return to get the shuttlebus too and from Melbourne - so we hired a car!! We had my GPS on my phone, and had no problems finding the place - and it only cost us $49 for car hire!! AMAZING!!!!!!!
We are just back at the motel to have a wee stop and drink and are heading out to find a pub to get a late dinner.
I have a photo of Peta and I in front of the set (which is why the ignorant usher got cranky at us) which i will blog from home!!
