July 02 Blaspheme Blaspheme Blaspheme!Do you know that Sally has not read ANY of the Harry books, nor seen any of the movies!!!
OMG!! And do you know that Debbie hasn't read Pride and Prejudice or seen any of the movies!!! OH MY GOD July 01 Wicked Wednesday!!!My dear darling MisTally gave me a copy of the soundtrack of Wicked two weeks ago. AND I FORGOT!!!!!
I had ripped it onto itunes, but not put it across to my ipod.
She reminded me on Monday night and today I have spent the entire day with plugs in my ears, listening to it. even when I was at schools I would have them in on my way to class. Even now, typing this I have them in. There are so truly MAGNIFICIENT SONGS on the soundtrack. but the one that has hit me in the GUT is 'For Good' It is truly BEAUTIFUL!! I posted a section of it on my fb today and a 'friend' on there, who just lost her grandmother replied saying that it was exactly how she was feeling about her Nana. So that just started me bawling again. Anyway - here are the lyrics for For Good. Thank you so very much Sally for giving me a copy. I cannot wait until we see it. I have emailed ticketmaster about a group. It is groups of 20+. Please let me know if you are interested in being a part of the group booking. I will need the money up front though - can't afford 20 tix on my visa (dont have enough on my visa to get that many! Lol)
FOR GOOD...
(Elphaba): I'm limited Just look at me - I'm limited And just look at you You can do all I couldn't do, Glinda So now it's up to you For both of us - now it's up to you... (Glinda): I've heard it said That people come into our lives for a reason Bringing something we must learn And we are led To those who help us most to grow If we let them And we help them in return Well, I don't know if I believe that's true But I know I'm who I am today Because I knew you... Like a comet pulled from orbit As it passes a sun Like a stream that meets a boulder Halfway through the wood Who can say if I've been changed for the better? But because I knew you I have been changed for good (Elphaba): It well may be That we will never meet again In this lifetime So let me say before we part So much of me Is made of what I learned from you You'll be with me Like a handprint on my heart And now whatever way our stories end I know you have re-written mine By being my friend... Like a ship blown from its mooring By a wind off the sea Like a seed dropped by a skybird In a distant wood Who can say if I've been changed for the better? But because I knew you (Glinda): Because I knew you (Both): I have been changed for good (Elphaba): And just to clear the air I ask forgiveness For the things I've done you blame me for (Glinda): But then, I guess we know There's blame to share (Both): And none of it seems to matter anymore (Glinda): Like a comet pulled from orbit As it passes a sun Like a stream that meets a boulder Halfway through the wood (Elphaba): Like a ship blown from its mooring By a wind off the sea Like a seed dropped by a bird in the wood (Both): Who can say if I've been Changed for the better? I do believe I have been Changed for the better (Glinda): And because I knew you... (Elphaba): Because I knew you... (Both): Because I knew you... I have been changed for good... June 30 Sick CJCeilidh is sick. ATM it's just a bad headcold, but I am worried it's the start of a worse cold/flu as so many of the kids at dancing have been struck down with it.
She came out of ballet today because the teacher said she wasn't well enough. When that happened I rang Carolyn and told her and she said not to come.
THis Saturday is Australasian - she should be having the lessons, but then again - she needs to get better.
We are not going to dancing tomorrow night. If she is no better Thursday she can stay home Thursday too.
I hope the other two dont get it now, cause their big week starts next weekend... June 29 I neeeeed my Mummy and Daddy!!! ArgghhH!!! Today I dropped the kids at school at 8.45 and headed to Granville to drop the hire car off. Dee and I were going to catch the train home. This is the hire car of mum and dads that they got for free with their insurance after the accident. In the end - didn't end up dropping the car. Got half way there and looked at the forms and it's not due back until 1st. So that solves the problem of how to get the children to dancing tomorrow when I am in Ctown and they are in Liverpool! Mark will finish early and take them in hire car, drop them off and then take the car back to the drop off and catch train home. I will do my usual Tuesday finish work at 3, pick up Darcy from Preschool and then can come to dancing with DD. PHEW! This Saturday however is a fiasco!! I just lost track of what the weekend entailed and it dawned on me this morning. RG is still on. Australasian is on. Dee has been invited to a Birthday Party from a Preschool friend. Two adults. 3 children. 1 car, 1 motor bike. 1 other very sick car.... It looks as if Dee will miss out on the party as it is the least important of the three. CJ will miss out on RG, that's fine, the competition is more important. However, Con can't miss out on RG as it's his very last private lesson before Wollongong!!!! After having a magic one hour private for the kids yesterday there is no way I am going to not back that up with his normal lesson on Saturday. I have just rung Peta and left a message asking if she can help get either Dee to the party or Con to dancing. But if she can't then Dee will just go to dancing as well. ARGGHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I need my Mum and Dad!!!! I hope you are both having a wonderful RELAXING time not having to chase after your grandchildren!!! xoxox June 28 Dance-a-Rama 09 Well, unbelievably a whole year has passed since the first Dance-a-rama, which is the in-studio concert held for non-performance group kids. This year, after the success of last year, they opened it up to performance group kids who dont have solos. Both years my 2 younger naughty children have found a way to rout the system! Last year Boyo did the dances, he did the boys class as LMB wanted him to help the other less-confident boys. And then he did his own chore for the contemporary - which was the highlight of the evening! Haaa This year, he didn't do any solo performances, he just was a part of the 8&U Group, doing their troupe dance. However, Dee not only did her 6&U Troupe dance, but she wanted to go into the contemporary as well - as CJ had been practicing it at home and she 'knew' it too! It was hillarious!!! Now to my Ceilidh-Girl... She and Moo had made up a contemporary. They were going to be doing two, they were going to do their own chory one, plus the class one. But were told the other week that they could only do one, so chose their own chore- to The Climb. The looked beautiful in their white outfits, I hope Deb got a photo of them, because I didnt!!! Arrghhhh!! Ceilidh was very very very nervous - I have no idea why as she had been so looking forward to dancing it. They did a lovely job and it was very sweet. Next up the girls had their jazz. They were pumped for this dance. It was alot of fun and they were dressed identically. Very very cute!! All in all it was a really lovely night, and a very exhausting day - as we had been at the studio since 9am, and also had headshots for Connor and Darcy that day too! June 27 Battle of BannockburnWednesady 24th June marked the 695th anniversary since the Battle of Bannockburn. I was asked to provide dancers for a luncheon at Scottish House.
I had arranged for my senior dancers to do it. But one was sick, one was working and one was injured. So suddenly the day was coming up and I had no one to dance. I decided my three could have the day off school/daycare and I would take them. It was the best thing I could have ever done!! They learnt soooo much!! They got to see how medieval coins were forged, and were given a commemorative one. They had medieval food, and saw soldiers re-enact the battle. As well as dancing themselves!! ANd talking to lots of older people about their lives. I reckon they learn't alot more yesterday than they would have at school. I am hoping to be sent a pic of the 3 of them, but here is one of Connor and the soldier! June 26 Colour MeditationToday was the last day of my colour meditation course.
It has been going for the last 4 Fridays with the Benevolant Society in Ctown. It has been amazing, Ive adored it even though some of it has been wacky! LOL
I am not adverse to wacky!
I'm not really up to speaking about it, it's more of a 'gotta be there' kind of thing.
But take my advice, if you get a chance to do something on colour meditation - DO IT! As a group we women have become very close - even though it's only been four weeks. This week, as we were saying goodbye, Patsy, who is an elderely Scottish woman came up to me with a bunch of lavendar from her garden that she had picked especially for me!!! My eyes welled up, I felt so special. Last week Patsy had made me cry as she was discussing when her daughter in law lost their baby and how she had seen the spirits of her mother and grandmother on the side of the crib, watching the child. I totally LOST it during class. Completely and utterly heart racking sobs and although I didn't explain myself to anyone, I could tell they were all 'lifting' me. So to receive this gift from her today was very very very special to me. I really hope that there is another course soon. It has truly made me feel happy. June 25 Food and Friendship and Fun (and Zombies!)A few weeks ago, after dancing on Saturday we went back to Jen, John, Emi and Edain's house for a play. I had taken DeeDee up when I took CJ for her maths lesson, and left her there with Emi, Nala and G'ma - having a 'wonderful' play! (hahaha - they love each other than hate each other - Gma is so wonderfully patient with them!!)

They are very excited. We are very excited for them. We are also very jealous!! ;p They are really making a wonderful trip of it. They are going up to Berlin, over to Prague, down to Salzburg, across to Munich and then back to Mannheim.
This is as well as cruises on the Danube.
And other little side trips.
I am so very very very happy for them and wish them BON VOYAGE xoxoxxoxoxo
PS - That hand bag of MUMS has been AWESOME!!! She bought that for our first trip overseas in 1988!!!! Every time she goes o/s out comes the travel handbag!!!!! ;p
June 22 Magic Monday![]() Today Darcy did a concert for me - all day long!!
We put the tv channel on to "Air Active" and swapped channels so she would do jazz, contemp, ballet and occassionally hip hop (ahahhahahahah!)
OMG - After an hour she was sooo exhausted but didnt want to stop!! And by the end of that hour - geez her penches were looking good! LOL!
It was a lovely way to spend the day!!
June 20 Bloody Bun Nets!I am sick of finding bun nets everywhere around the house, the car, my handbag, the dancing bags...
I keep thinking their friggen spiders!!! ARGGHHHHH! June 19 MAY THE LONG TIME SUN SHINE ON YOUAll love surround you And the bright light within you Guide your way home June 18 Bloody DP!I had a little arguement with the deputy principal of the kids school on Monday.
They're very very nazi like with their lateness up at school. I'm not just talking about 'late'. I mean - bell goes. If you are not THROUGH the ONE gate that is open at 8.55 when the bell goes you have to go to the office and get a late note. This DP actually STANDS there at the gate and herds them to the office - even though the classes haven't moved off lines yet!! And then, when you have 4 'late' notes (being in our case about 8.59 instead of 8.55) you get a letter threatening you with the HSLO officer (which I showed to Mark and then tore up into about 20 pieces ranting the whole time I did it!). These 4 'late days' have been this term. In 7 weeks of school they had arrived NO LATER than 9am any day and had only 2 complete days off school and yet I WAS RECEIVING A WARNING LETTER!!!! When I think of the amount of school days other children have off this REALLY REALLY REALLY irks me!!!!
And THEN a few days later you have your 7 year old coming home in tears saying that the Police were going to come around to our house because they were late for school. Well with that last one - the shit just hit the fan.
Apparently they had an assembly where there were told that the Home School Liason Officer (in other words the truant officer) would be turning up at their house to tell their parents that they were always late for school. Connor heard 'officer' and thought it was the police.
So on Monday, when I pulled up in front of the gate at 8.55 and the bell was going asthe kids ran in the gate, then I parked the car and walked in with Dee, so it was about 9am by then and saw CJ walking across the playground with a red late slip in her hand. And saw the DP standing there playing security. I couldn't hold it in any more.
I said to her 'I think you are taking it a bit too far sending them for late slips when they get in the gate just after the bell rings.' At which she starts speaking in monosyllables to me about rules from the Department, at which I tell her I know the rules from the Department as I am a school teacher also but I feel that they are taking the Department rules a tad too seriously when it is before 9am and they are still having to get late slips. At which she tells me that the school children need to arrive when school starts at which I tell her that yes, but they shouldn't be threatened with the HSLO and have 7 year olds in tears because they think the Police are coming to their homes. At which she asked who was my 7 year old and I told her and then I said 'perhaps if you worked at Campbelltown East PS, where I work you would see what lateness and absenteeism really is!' and walked off!!!
NOT HAPPY!!! Seriously thinking of taking it further but will do some investigation first so I am armed! June 17 My Poor Mum! Mum had a car accident yesterday. She is ok, she is just a bit sore today with whiplash and a sore boob from the seatbelt. The car is not ok.... It was pouring with rain and she was driving across the Milperra Bridge and suddenly she heard a screech of brakes and the car in front of her was on top of her. 4 cars in the pile up - hers the last one. They hear tomorrow if the car is a right-off or not. Hopefully it can be fixed, because it's only insured for Market Value so they wouldn't get much for a little Kia that is 5 years old. Mum and Dad leave for Germany next Tuesday. Hopefully everything with the car will be fixed by the time they get home and they will arrive home to a shiny fixed car in their driveway - hopefully! June 16 Dance mumI know I'm a dance mum & I'm quite willing to be that. I want my children to go to the best for them, so travel zcross Sydney to to do. I see it as a priveledge if my children get chosen for things & am willing to travel to wherever I'm suppose to go for that experience. Therefore, it shits me that others aren't willing to do the same. If you've made the committment of saying your child will me part of a troupe then you to whinge & complain about where eisteddfods are on.
I heard mothers at dancing tonight whinging about having to do Wollongong eisteddfod. ' why is that one do special? Why do we have to travl so far for just an eisteddfod?' grrerrrr it ain't your little pokey hall rigged dancing school eisteddfod! This is old school. This is the real thing. Be proud that your dancing school feels confident enough to enter if!
Ok, enough if my rant
goodnight! June 15 Marry Boy or My Darcy PrincessI said last week about us having an outing with Leanne and Noah on our "Girlie Day'' and the photos that were following. Well, here they are today!
Dee was excited at the Highland concert yesterday. Both her 'boyfriends' were there. Noah and Marcus!
Noah told Leanne that Darcy is his Darcy Princess of the World! Awwwwww!!!
June 14 Show me the way to go homeShow me the way to go home June 13 Holroyd Eisteddfod Baby!!Dee Dee had her 2nd eisteddfod today. It was at Plumpton High School at 9am. Mum, CJ and I took her there, whilst Dad took Connor to dancing.
It was VERY VERY cold. She was section number one.
There were supposed to be 6 in the section, but only 3 showed up.
Dee Dee was number 6.
The judge rang the bell. Dee ran onto the stage and into her starting position. The girl on the music then stood up, came around and changed the number, came back to the table, took out Darcy's music from the envelope, put it in the machine, picked up the microphone and said 'competitior number 6' then started the music. About 30 secs at least of Dee standing - STOCK STILL, WITH HEAD DOWN - IN POSITION!! Soooo proud of her!!
She then danced her little socks off (no socks worn actually so that's not that hard I guess!) Much more confident than 2 weeks ago at St George. Smiled and acted the whole way through.
It was very funny. She has to do this chaisse turn, well she did a beautiful preparation to her chaisse and then forgot to turn! ROFLMAO!!! She just went straight into the next step hahaha! Well - SHE WON!!! She was sooo excited! Couldn't believe it!! Raced back to dancing and showed off her trophy and her crit sheet (which was very good). It said "Love your outfit, great floorwork, love your pointed toies on your skips, you're a very neat little dancer, show alot of potential, well done - good girl!''
Kaiesha had her first RG solo today. She did such a good job. It is looking great and will only get better! She got 2nd!
And here Dee is! (Thanks to Mandy for proper photos! I took my camera but forgot it was in my handbag so only took a shot on my phone of Dee and CJ together!)
June 12 3 Wise Monkeys....June 11 Soccerooooooooooooooos!!!!Well we won - apparently!!
I had the most joyous evening, sitting up in the loungeroom, watching 2 movies- Doubt and The Reader. Mark and Con got home about 11pm - very very cold but very very happy. Connor had a BLAST!!! He rang me at the end of the game to say Australia won 2 points and the other team got no points!! LOL (Mark in the background was saying 'two goals Connor!) Then this morn he was telling CJ about it, and when I was doing his hair he told me 'when the show was on blah blah blah' and I thought "OMG - I can't tell his father he called a soccer game a show" (even though I reckon, the way they dive it's probably a better word than game! LOL)
Here's the shots!! (plus one of CJ back when she went to the first Socceroo game on her birthday, pictured with her God Father, Michael, and his son, Nat - Nat you will see in the pix with Connor too. He is 8 months older. THe other wee boy, James is about 8months younger.)
June 10 Ozzie Ozzie Ozzzzzzzzziiiiie!Tonight Connor and Mark are going to the Socceroo's match at Homebush. I don't even know who they are playing! UMAH! I do know that Australia is already through to the World Cup! WOOHOO!!
Connor is super dooper excited about it, more excited with coming and going on the motorbike than the soccer game me thinks!
Today I bought him, from Aldi, a ski suit. It is very trendy. I had seen them the othe day in the catalogue and thought how perfect they would be if (hopefully WHEN) we go to Germany at the end of this year. I didnt get around to getting up there but today being 5deg (wind chill) I thought my poor boy needed something very warm for a drafty stadium and a bike ride.
He is going to be STOKED when he sees it!! Im charging the camera for Mark to take tonight. Photos tomorrow - I hope!~ June 09 Marry BoyWhen we were out the other day with Leanne and Noah at the park the kids were just beautiful together, and it's so sad that we don't get to see each other very much anymore.
Darcy is so happy that Noah is her partner in Cotton Eyed Joe. She cares for him so much - too much in the dance! LOL! Too busy making sure he is in the right place and not concentrating on her dance!! :D Leanne, can you please send me a few pix of the kids from that day and I will post them up here. xo |
